Excellent facilities at brilliant prices. Arrived early and able to book in 20 minutes advertised time. Very very nice receptionist - no problems only solutions. Great concept - who needs more??

"Excellent Stay"
12th April 2012, Lucy400, London, United Kingdom
I stayed with my Partner at this hotel for 3 nights whilst spending a long weekend visting Alton Towers. Althought the hotel isnt an amazing 5* hotel for what me and my Partner used it for it was excellent. The rooms were always clean & the cleaner would also come in every day, reception staff very friendly and always willing to help, beds are clean and comfortable & all in all i enjoyed my stay. I cant comment on the breakfast as i didnt eat any but i must say when i went out in the morning the breakfast bar was always full. Hope this helps

The hotel is convieniently situated to visit the areas national trust properties The room was basic but had all the facilities we required including TV,soap, towels, glasses, The staff were very friendly and helpfull with 24 hour reception., The breakfast consisted of an help yourself continental buffet inc cereal, toast, muffins yogurt, baggets, fruit and a selection of juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. For £18 a night and £3 for breakfast i have already recommended this hotel as being very good value for money to family and friends.

"Good Clean Place To Stay"
4th September 2011, London
Good, cheap hotel (if booked in advance on-line), but a little in the middle of nowhere. Ideal stopover but not exactly a destination in itself. The fact that its on a service area is great because there's a good carvery adjoining and a 24 hour gas station that has everything the insomniac needs.Rooms are standard Etap, modern and clean. Showers excellent.Air-Con is turned off at certain times of year - and that is a real pain.

"Fantastic for £18/night/room"
8th August 2011
Etap Derby is clean and comfortable. The rooms aren't large, but do contain all you need for a stay over. The continental breakfast is really good value and the coffee was excellent. This is the second year running that I have booked a stay over. Last year the rooms were brand new, admittedly there was a few bumps and scrapes this time around, but no different to rooms that I've paid £100 for. We would also recommend the pub across the car park for drinks and food. This was certainly a positive from a location perspective. I've rated this as 5/5 for what I would say is a budget hotel.

"Not as I was expecting"
4th August 2011, Chichester
A bit disappointing, shower pulsed from very hot to cold. Extractor fans not working. Heater/cooler failed after first night. Bed was hard. No coffee making facility, who wants to go down to reception in the early hours to get coffee from a machine?

"Great Value"
21st July 2011, Pulborough
Great value - would be perfect for those with children due to triple room option. Rooms were clean but needed some touching up (although wouldn't expect much more for £18 a night!) Perfect for quick stopover. Breakfast great for price - good selection of bread, fruit, cereal, croissants, muffins etc... Not the most comfortable bed but fine for a one night stopover (e.g. after wedding) and great value. Very quiet.

"Etap Hotel Derby/Burton"
20th July 2011, Hebden Bridge
Everything to the usual ETAP standard - simple, functional, clean and excellent value. Conveniently situated for both Derby & Burton in a quiet corner of the Services adjacent to the A38/A50 crossing.Reception very helpful and breakfast room facilities kept spotlessly clean by the lady in charge; the breakfast too was particularly good for an English ETAP - almost as good as the German ones. Very beneficial to have 24 hour attended reception rather than having to key in the code as in most of the continental ETAPs (and risk it not working) when arriving around midnight.Only criticisms were - The electric power socket for the desk didn't appear to be working so had to fiddle around to use the TV power socket. No reception in my downstairs room for the "3" network so couldn't go on line with computer. On querying the password for the WiFi advertised service (which my computer dongle could pick up in my room but not access) I was told by reception that the WiFi could only be used in the public area, ie the Breakfast room. I did not want to bring my papers into a public area to do my computer work so didn't take up this offer - but I feel this was a misinterpretation of the ETAP rules. On Saturday night there was some noise in the place (not so in previous night) however I was so tired it didn't stop me getting to sleep, but I think it could be a nuisance to more sensitive guests.

"Etap Hotel Derby (Nearer Willington)"
4th July 2011, Letchworth Garden City
Good location for the touring the area and Burton-on-Trent, Derby cities. Nerby Pub/restaurant,Cherry Tree Farm. excellent with good cavery. Shell service sation near site. For personal taste the beds are on the firm side, matress's could be thicker as beds are a sold base. But would use this chain again as good value for money especially if booked 30 days in advance.

"Alton Towers Stop Off"
29th June 2011, Tranent
We were not sure what to expect for the price we paid for this hotel but we were amazed! The hotel was excellent. The location was 5 min drive into Derby city centre and only 15 min drive to Alton towers which was the purpose of our stay. The staff were really friendly and nothing was a bother to them. The clenliness and style of the hotel was like 4* accomodation. We have already booked for later in the year for another visit and have reccomended the hotel to everyone who is thinking of visiting Alton towers.

"great for the price but wouldnt pay any higher"
24th June 2011, carlisle
this is a budget hotel, we have stayed before & booked again as it is very handy for alton towers & drayton manor theme parks. Both stays we got at the great price of £19 per room which is excellent but I wouldnt pay any more than this, for a higher price you would be better off booking a travelodge as they are of a higher standard. the rooms & general hotel are clean & the reception staff were friendly & helpful, but downsides are only having 1 electric socket in the room (which is at the opposite side of room to the mirror so wasnt much help with hair straighteners!) the shower is also in the room (which was fine for us as we were a family sharing but might not be suitable for everyone). also the wall seem to be paper thin & you can constantly hear noise (people talking in neighbouring rooms / corridors & doors banging shut).but all in all - if you are just looking for a cheap overnight stay (and you book early & get the cheap £19 rate) then you can't really complain.(also there is an excellent family pub across the carpark which is great for meals!)

"You get what you pay for......"
14th June 2011, Penarth, near Cardiff
To start with, the post code that I got from the address on the confirmation sheet had us travelling aimlessly up and down a country road that was nowhere near where we were supposed to be.We ended up asking a local who told us that we were about 3 miles away, you really need to correct the address that appears on the internet. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, a little welcome pack would have been greatly appreciated, what does a few teabags & a small pack of biscuits cost? There was only one 3 pin socket in the room and it was too far from the mirror for my wife to comfortably use her hairdryer, the socket near the mirror was a 2 pin for shavers, also insufficient towels for two people, luckily we brought our own.Room heater didn't work, we were very cold during the night and the quilt was a bit thin.Still, it didn't cost a fortune, it was reasonably clean and the staff were polite & helpful.
