Stayed here for 2 nights lovely big room overlooking temple meads train station. Handy for transport just across the bridge and you can get the train and bus to all destinations. The real plus point for this hotel is Zach the barman he is a great guide if you need to know of anything to do or see while you are in Bristol he is the guy. Only down point is when we came to check out we asked about putting our bags in the locker room and they were charging people £2.00 per bag this is a bit off putting. Rooms were lovely and comfortable. Will definately be back to this hotel if we come back to Bristol.
"Saturday night stay"

Well positioned near the railway station and there is a convenient footbridge over the neighbouring canal, but thjs was not mentioned on the website so we had a much longer walk around by road. Despite telephoning 4 days earlier there was no note or action on the request for a twin room, but the helpful receptionist found us a twin room. This was a vacant disabled persons' room and so was not as clean or user friendly/comfortable as a normal room. Despite overlooking the station (nice view with steam trains in the morning) the double glazing seemed to be particularly effective and it was a quiet room - we slept very well. After a long day's walking we ate in the hotel bar/restaurant in the evening. The fish filets we overdone and dry (probably been cooked a long time); a free desert was offered as a recompense. In the morning for breakfast, it was not as slick an operation as I'm used to in an Ibis - the bacon was not ready at the breakfast start time and the breakfast layout was sightly disjointed.Nevertheless, I would recommend because of its good positioning if a rail traveller and the standard is only a little below the norm for an Ibis.
"Good overall except for room allocation & shower problems"
19th September 2013, 331Scottie6, Dundee, United Kingdom
Was allocated a disabled room which was neither needed or requested. The drain in the shower room was blocked and the bathroom was flooded. We were moved to another disabled room & when I questioned this was told it was the only twin bedded room available. Given that I booked in June there should have been a regular twin bed room available. If not for this everything was satisfactory.

Found staff to be friendly helpful and nothing seemed a bother to them. the room was very comfortable although we had a wait for a meal we enjoyed it when it came and were informed that the chef was just new. we would stay at this hotel again so enjoyed it.

"We brought our own coffee"
1st September 2013, RedLynne, London, United Kingdom
Good location, good value; staff were very pleasant. Choice of food in the evening was very limited. We take our own coffee to Accord hotels, as there is only Nestle - boycotted by millions of people for 30years or more - goodness knows why the hotel chain insists on using their products.View management response »

"Good place to stay - but maybe not to eat"
15th August 2013, happywanderer1962, Guildford, United Kingdom
Third visit to this hotel as location is very handy for Temple Meads station and the city centre, and tour buses start from the railway station so well placed for these. Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Rooms are functional and spacious and beds are nice, although we found the twin beds very narrow (my elderly mother fell out of bed during the night!). On arrival we found our booking of a twin room had been mistakenly made for a double, but this was rectified quite quickly. The only minus was mediocre food served in the restaurant - worst jacket potato I'd ever been given (very small, very dry as no butter was included, tuna mayo had no mayo and cheese content was just a few grated flakes. Salad garnish was limp rochet, 2 tiny slices of cucumber and a sliver of tomato about the size of a toenail clipping). I complained and was given a complimentary dessert (version of "Eton mess" made with peaches, which was nearly all peach slices, small amount of icecream and a tiny amount of merigue "sprinkles" at bottom of dish). Breakfast ok but poor selection of cereals offered. Have booked room only on previous occasions and will stick to this in future (I would consider staying here again as the benefits generally outweigh the disadvantages) and not bother to eat at the hotel. Maybe a few more staff employed on catering side would improve things. Otherwise very happy!View management response »

I stayed for one night and I am glad I did pick this hotel. The location is excellent just a stones throw away from Temple Meads Station. My room was very nice and spotless and the view was good as I was on the 7th Floor. The only problem that I had was lack of sleep. It was very hot in the room and even though I had the air cooling system on all night It didn't make much difference and during the night I would go and open the window but then the clubs and pubs would chuck out so there would be alot of noise but with the window shut you couldn't hear anything so the sound proofing in the hotel is excellent. The bed was also very comfortable. I decided to pay for the breakfast buffet and it had everything you could want for breakfast and It was all you can eat and had not one complaint about that it was excellent and very tasty. All in all great hotel with a great location like I said It was just a very hot day so the room was a bit too hot to get a comfortable sleep in but apart from that it was great and would stay here again. Also nice to have a free newspaper to read when coming down in the morning. Nice gesture.View management response »

"Ibis Bristol Temple Meads Quay"
23rd July 2013, McMills18, Edinburgh, United Kingdom
I was travelling with my partner for a short break in Bristol prior to staying in Bath. We stayed in the Ibis for one night and found the accommodation, location and value for money excellent. it was very close to Temple Mead railway station. We had got an airport bus and was dropped at the station which was only a five minute walk away to the hotel. The hotel was very near all the sights and in our two days in Bristol did not require to use public transport. We didnt eat in the hotel as there were many place locally. The room was compact, clean and provided everything we needed. Will definnitely return there as we loved Bristol and will definnitely visit again in the future.View management response »
