"Disappointing staff manner, location and value good"

My family and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Novotel in Liverpool. It was very central, convenient for shops and Albert Dock.We have stayed at many Novotels over Europe and have found them very family friendly and great value for money. However this time we were very disappointed and felt that our interactions the staff at the Novotel Liverpool did not meet our expectations.The various staff - with one notable exception explained below- were particularly unfriendly and had a rather abrupt manner throughout the three days. For example, the reception staff explained that breakfast was not included (which we were surprised as we thought we had booked breakfast), then the breakfast concierge confirmed that it was included to a different member of our party, inviting us to take breakfast, before presenting us with a bill for £42 as we left afterwards.We were also disappointed that, despite asking for adjoining rooms at the time of booking, were given two separate rooms and one of these rooms had an adjoining door to a vacant room that we weren't given. Indeed later on the first day, the people who had just checked-in to this adjoining room came through to greet us, much to our surprise.There were no towels available in the leisure facilities on two separate occasions and our room keys repeatedly failed to open our bedroom doors despite working the lift security, resulting in three separate trips back to reception.Please note that, in contrast, the breakfast chef was very helpful and friendly- checking that we were finished with the breakfast buffet before clearing the food away and generally behaving politely and cheerfully with us.I appreciate that the staff were busy over the easter holidays but we were very disappointed with the staff attitude and this will put us off booking with the Novotel chain in future.

"Good business hotel"

Very nice location close both to the Albert Docks and downtown. As usual with the group, very caring and friendly service. There is one car parking space in front (allowing for check-in) and a multi storey car park next door, where you get a discount for upon check-out.Not checked out the pool and spa but the rest of the hotel was very nice, with good views over Albert Docks, slightly larger rooms than common in Novotel and a pleasant bar.Definitely recommended

"Great location"

Location is perfect for business and leisure, nice clean room, good facilities and terrific breakfast. Good, innovative options for check-in and check-out that helped avoid any delays. Highly recommended.

"Top class hotel"

Good location with Liverpool One just across the road, it was a little bit expensive and 9,99 gbp to get access to WiFi for 24 hours was to mutch. Kids loved the Pool and the x-box. Walking distance to Albert Dock, Lime Street Station, Tesco, Shopping, Matew Street.

"Not like other Novotels"

I have stayed in other Novotels before but was very dissapointed to see that the entrance was very small. common spaces area is very less. I can't call this one as 4-star.On very first day when back from work I found the room was in same state as it was left at 8O'clock in the morning. upon investigation it was found that the housekeeping had ticked it as done so the supervisor waere not aware.on the other hand I would like to praise some staff who tried to make my stay comfortable and specially to Ms. Anita palfi ( hotel staff) .

"Convenient and comfortable"

This hotel is both near to the river and the Liverpool One complex and also close to Seel St., Bold St. - the Ropeworks Quarter. The rooms are like every Novotel - quietly chic, modern, comfortable; the breakfast is excellent but pricey. Comfortable bed but it is on a busyish road so street noise can be a problem on weekends. Best feature of this hotel is that is next to the long-established Bluecoat bookshop, a great selection of new but reduced books.

"Very Good Stay"

Hotel was very comfortable and within easy access of parts of city we wanted to visit.We had two evening meals in the restaurant and which we enjoyed the staff were very good and we had no complaints. We would definately book this hotel again if we were to return.

"2nd Stay at great hotel"

Had another good stay at this hotel. I booked on a cheap rate through the website so wasn't paying the room rate shown behind reception thankfully!The rooms are well equipped, clean, comfortable etc. I only ate breakfast in the hotel, but that was very nicely done with good service, and a good selection of cooked breakfast items, cereals, muesli, Pastries etc.Reception staff as before where helpful.Only minor gripe if I was really niggling would be slightly slow internet speed, but overall a fab stay!
