"Worst stay ever"
27th February 2013, wasit2u, Sydney, Australia
I was contacted by the manager a couple of weeks before my stay and informed that the elevators were out of commission so I has been rebooked at Travelodge Auckland City Central Hotel. My room at Travelodge not only had no air conditioning, but had not ventilation at all and I couldn't even get the windows open - got an engineer from the hotel up to pry open one of the four windows and gave me a desk fan to get some air movement. Probalem with the window open is that my room was right above the intersection of Wellesley and Albert Sts -- everytime the crosswalk went, I was woken by the load beeeping, all night long. I'm not a prima donna -- I just expect a hotel to be a clean place I can get a good nights sleep. three nights no sleep. Pretty crap.
"Not Impressed"
23rd February 2013, steve-kapiti, Paraparaumu, New Zealand
I am very unimpressed. In August 2012 I booked and paid for my stay at the Ibis Styles Auckland for the weekend of the 16th February 2013.On arrival at Auckland Domestic on the 15th February 2013 I was instructed by the shuttle bus driver that we were not staying at the Ibis Styles as it has been closed for several months, but we were now staying at the Econo Lodge, 37 Wellesley St W, Auckland, 1010.This was contrary to the Email I received on the 10th (Hello Steve Taylor, We look forward to welcoming you for 1 night(s) at the Ibis Styles Auckland (previously All Seasons) on the 15/02/2013.To help you plan your trip, why not take advantage of the services and recommendations provided by our team.Practical information such as weather forecasts and a map to your hotel will help to make the days leading up to your departure stress-free.We wish you a pleasant stay in. Your Accorhotels.com team )The substituted accomodation was of a lesser quality, old, dirty in places (dirty water marks on the wall, hair on the sink, mold on the shower curtain, ( I have photos of these), the shower taps had no markings so you didn't know what was hot or cold and certainly not what I had wanted. We called Accor and was told that someone would call, I'm still waiting for the phone call.Yours Stephen Taylor
"Very poor"

Not happy with this accomadation, was like staying at backpackers, paid extra for breakfast, quality was so poor.Would only recommend this place if on a super low budget.Got to see the santa parade from window, that was better than being down with the crowd.
"Our worst ever hotel experience"
12th January 2013, R0bert123, Auckland Region, New Zealand
Looking for a last minute stay on New Years eve in Auckland City we visited "Wotif" and found to our surprise vacancies at Ibis Styles in Auckland City. The offer was well under the normal room rate and having stayed on a number of occasions with Ibis we decided to make the booking through the hotels website. The total cost including an upgrade to a balcony room was $259. On arrival we were allocated a room on the 17th floor and found only one of the two lifts operating - no real problem on the way up but about 20 minutes on the way down in a lift with a maximum load of 6 persons and a full hotel. We opened the door to our room and the experience got worse - a doulble bed with little or no room on the sides, the balcony barely the width of the door and generally speaking nowhere near the standard we had experienced in our previous Ibis stays. We decided to request a refund but the duty manager was firm on only refunding $59 which meant the twenty minute ride in the lift cost us $200. I feel that they should change their promotion to backpackers delight as this is degrading the Ibis image. We will certainly not be staying with Ibis again.
"Unfortunate stay"

Firstly I have to say that all my previous stays at Accor Hotels have been a pleasure. However this time was a huge disappointment as even for a Ibis Styles it was poor to say the least. Rooms very rundown , broken items, the feel of being unkempt. The manager was helpful but with limited facilities struggled to assist us. The worst part was we had brought friends with us to join Accor , oh dear !!!!!No bar facilities , no champange glasses the list goes on.Please Accor even your budget should be better than that and it cost us more than specials at Ibis !!
"Small Hot and Dirty"

Location is the winning point. Whoever designed the shower failed, water stuck on the floor. Room is too small and we could hear the noise from the bar down next door even thoughwe lived on higher floor .
"Run Down,and NO BIBLE..."
31st December 2012, 4321330, Gold Coast
We stayed at this hotel 4 years ago, we took 2 rooms and although they are small we were very comfortable. This time around, the water didn't drain properly out of the ensuite floor area, the draws and cupboard doors weren't working properly (screws missing), Toilet seat falling off, not enough milk to have 2 coffee's each, no biscuits at all and to our shock there was no Bible to do our nightly reading...One staff member was very helpful and managed to accommodate our requests,,, She was neat, pity about the attitude of the rest of the staff.

Management responseDear Guest,Please accept my apologies regarding the issues you encountered on your recent stay with us please rest assured I will investigate the items you have raised. In regards to the in room amentities, unfortunately we do not provide biscuits as a standard in our rooms, though we do provide tea bags, coffee and milk in our rooms. Thank you for the positive feedback regarding the staff member I will be sure to pass this on to her. I do believe that she was able to source a bible for you that evening to ensure you were able to read prior to sleeping that night. Once again, thank you for your feedback.RegardsCaz Vance

It was okay, good location, good service, the shower curtain was a bit smelly. Bit loud during the day and night thus affecting sleep quality. But was really convenient to show, entertainment venues and the great hustle and bustle of Auckland.

No shower cabinet - water did not drain leaving you walking in pools of water. Extra charges for late check-out and baggage storage were steep! Small room with laughable closet - had to ask for coathangers.
