ibis Deira City Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great stay"

25th February 2013, Loveholidaysasd, Manchester, United Kingdom

No complaints. Clean basic hotel. They let us leave our luggage in a secure room while we toured for a day after checkout. Breakfast was great, loads of variety.Best thing about hotel was location. If we come to Dubai again, we'll probably use this hotel.

ibis Deira City Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "I wasn't very satisfied on my last stay"

20th February 2013, Chemieng2005, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA

I'm a regular Ibis customer and on my last stay at Dubai City center Ibis wasn't that great. First of all, when I made my reservation It showed me that my booking would be about 75 USD but when I got there I was told that I should pay almost 110 USD plus service. I could have mentioned that to the desk help but I thought it was not worth it. Second thing, Usually each Ibis room has a safe but the room I got did not have one. So I had to carry all my important documents with me at all times when I was out the of hotel. I also happened to need a paper and a pen to write some notes, I looked all over the room and guess what!! no pen nor paper. Yes, I could have called the desk but again I though it's not worth asking for one. Another thing which I really hate is if you wanted internet service in your room, your only option is through Ethernet wire. So if you wanted to use wireless connection for you IPAD or your smartphone, you are screwed. Your only option is to go down to the lobby to get access. So strange that the Ibis in Kuwait provides wireless internet in all rooms and free of charges, unlike Ibish Dubai where you have to pay a certain fee. One last thing that I have witnessed on my last stay is that the drainage at the shower suck so bad and the water wasn't going through. I had to remove the drainage cover to get rid of the water that was accumulating and almost flowing all over the bathroom floor. I wasn't really sure what was the problem.I usually don't like to criticize but maybe if someone from the management reads this will pay some attention to those details and do something about it. In general the Hotel and the rooms are nice and clean, very quite, and the location of the hotel is very close to the airport which is a plus.

ibis Deira City Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "just right!"

24th January 2013, tvt7, Perth, Australia

I travelled to Dubai solo and wasn't sure where the best spot is to get a hotel. I didn't want to spend too much money on a hotel, so I went with the Ibis Deira City Centre. The staff was really friendly and helpful and informative about tours, always willing to help. Only downside to the hotel is, there is only wifi in the lobby area, not in the rooms. Across the road is a big shopping centre with everything in it, not as wow as Mall of the Emirates, but still nice. At the entrance of the shop you can hop onto the Big City Bus which takes you around(hop on, hop off where you like) to all the major buildings, like Burj Al Arab, Atlantis Palm Island, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Museum and a Dhow Cruise is included, good way to see the city. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

ibis Deira City Centre: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Room was given away on arrival"

22nd January 2013, Rybremnazoe

I initially tried to book the room through Emirates but was told the hotel was full. Emirates told me they have a 24 hours check agreement with the hotel. I then booked the room through the Accor Hotels web site and received a confirmation. Since the web site mentioned a check in of 14:00 I decided to call the hotel the day before arrival (I departed from Singapore on Jan 15th and arrive in Dubai on Jan 16th at 2am). The receptionist on duty confirmed to me that the room would be available at 2am (I made him repeating this 4 times to ensure 2am in the morning and not 2pm in the afternoon).I arrived in the hotel around 2:45am and was told the hotel was overbooked (first time this happens to me in 30 years). The kept on arguing that their check in time was 14:00 and no one confirmed me about the 2am check in. Finally 1 hour later i was offered a room in another Ibis hotel - at a higher price and I had to pay for the transfer myself. I went to bed at 4:30am - checked out of that Ibis at 10:30am (paid the full rate for those 5 hours). That Ibis could not get a taxi or transfer to the first hotel. The doorman gave up after 15 minutes and left me on the street. Finally I find a limo driver whom brought me to the first Ibis, of course I paid myself. I checked in again and was able to speak to receptionist whom promised me the initial 2am check in. He told me that he was sorry about the mistake he made because he mixed up the arrival dates. When I asked the management to apply their 15 minutes satisfaction guarantee (in my case it would apply for 2 nights in the two different Ibis) it was denied. Bottom line: the hotel is not bad. the location is very good. They however do not understand how to support a guest in need even when they are the cause of the problem. Hotel Business is Service business and that's simply non existent. All by all this hotel is a gamble, you may end up on the street, even with a confirmed reservation, without support. Up to you travelers to decide if you want to take the risk

ibis Deira City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "An honest view if ibis deira city centre"

14th January 2013, mayorLagos_Nigeria, Lagos, Nigeria

The hotel was ok but there is room for improvement. Attention should be given in the area of keys to the lift and rooms, a situation where a guest at the 3rd , 4th or mre floors on getting there and could not open the door that is not good enough. Apart from this minor issue the hotel is exellent

ibis Deira City Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Recent experience"

20th November 2012, Steammango, Auckland Central, New Zealand

The hotel met my expectations for a CBD transit hotel. Well located and clean. I would like to commend Rosemary and Gene for facilitating me through an untidy situation.Your online booking service let me down. I repeatedly loaded my dates - 17/18 November and it kept reverting to the then current date - the 13th. Finally, my dates "stuck" - or so I thought. For communication reasons, it was only when I arrived at the hotel that I was told I had been booked for the 13th and I was "no show". I guess I have been charged for this incorrect reservation. I don't know why your online system would not hold the correct selected date but I am both annoyed and out of pocket!

ibis Deira City Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent hotel in an excellent location- Absolute value for money"

11th November 2012

I have stayed multiple times in this hotel. Nothing has changed- the service, the Cleanliness or even the buffet. Excellent location next to the Deira City Centre and the Dubai metro station. Only drawback is the size of the room which is okay when you have an infant, but is suddenly inadequate when you have a toddler.
