Dan L Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

Did book by Accors homepage, 5 nights. I will stay here for another 2 nights later in April. I got a 3pm check out as a silver Accor member. The normal check out time is 11am. I did get a nice superior room at the 8th floor, but the Aircon could not remove the humidity and I feel uncomfortable if the air in the room is humid. The junior staff told me that the Aircon cannot be adjusted under 22c (the display showed between 22 and 22.5c), when I asked for 20c to get rid of the humidity. I then contacted the duty manager, who was helpful and moved me to a room which I think was on the executive floor (floor no 16) which was cool enough to remove the humidity, where the display after a while showed 19.5c. I think the real temperature in the room was about 21c. I am happy with how the duty manager did handle the issue. Thumbs up for him! The room had a Nespresso maker which the superior room did not have. That made me extra happy. I'm not sure hotels gain by having a policy in humid places (and Macau can be very humid) to not have an Aircon temperature low enough to remove the humidity. What's happening then is that rooms tend to start smelling (microorganisms growing) and will be more at risk for mold. During the check in process I was shown another room, but that was a bit smelly, would not surprise me if it is a consequence of not using the Aircon enough to get rid of the humidity. The housekeeping was basically good, but not all routines work. The Nespressomaker do leak water, which they should have noticed. Also both the hand soap and the bath gel container where not refilled, so I ended up to use shampoo to clean my body the last day. One day, one of the two bathrobes had disappeared after the room cleaning. I used one to cover a chair. The gym is quite good equipped and the staff are attentive. When I asked for a gym-stick, to stretch my stiff back and shoulders, the stick arrived within 15 minutes! The pool has a nice design, but could have been deeper. The sauna was not hot enough, but that was adjusted. Although, the supervisor in the gym was rude. One day I was outside swimming, he came out to me and said that I could not swim due to thunderstorm warning. I stated the facts, no rain, no wind. There might be thunderstorm later, but not then. He then asked for my room number and said that he shall "report" me. Report to who, I wondered ? The police? Did I commit a crime when I at my own risk was swimming in a calm weather? I did later talk with a woman from the manager team for the fitness area. I told her, no sign was up by the pool which forbade me to swim. I told her also that I took offense by the supervisors offensive language. She explained that the government gives general advices on thunderstorms, but these are advices only, and it was not forbidden to swim in the pool as I had. It is pleasant to take a swim after a work out and a hot sauna, so I'm happy that the manager staff did clarify that I always can use my own evaluation of the weather, and of course if it starts to rain heavy or stormy weather approach, I would not swim. The bed is soft and not as hard as beds often are in hotels around here. Good bedlinen and pillows. I did book without breakfast, thought the price was a bit steep at Accors homepage. At the hotel they run a promotion and charged MOP 128 Net only, so I took the buffet breakfast as well. The breakfast is high quality, very good selection and fresh taste and have attentive staff, a real 5-star breakfast! Special mention for the smoked salmon, fish balls and wonton! I learned to take the local buses, which frequently stops just outside the hotel. MOP 6 only (no change is given), paid with coins, which took me to other parts of Macau. Bus no 3 is particularly useful. Cross the street, take the bus from the bus stop to Lisboa or other central parts of the peninsula. I still used the free casino shuttles from Wynn and MGM to visit Cotai. The concierge is very helpful. Complimentary daily newspapers are delivered to the room on request. All in all, a good hotel - which would be excellent if the Aircon policy would change, so the temperature could be adjusted down to 20c in every room, according to the guests preferences of humidity.

We stayed as part of the club millésime, it was truly wonderful not only was there a great selection of food, canapés and drinks, but the service was top notch! I have to shout out Ann, who really took care of us any chance she could, she really noticed every detail right down to how we took our coffee! She’s a real star!

Today, the morning tea on the 16th floor of sixteen Pu is very authentic, and the taste is very good. The pigeon is affordable, the outside is crisp and the inside is tender, the fried sausage noodles are very distinctive, and the tea is also very fragrant and tasty. Very good service attitude, praise Susie and Tomson two service staff, good attitude, warm service, very satisfied.

What truly elevated my stay was the outstanding service provided by the staff. Everyone I encountered, from the receptionists to the housekeeping team, was incredibly helpful and accommodating.
