"My Ibis Mataro stay"

The reception welcome was excellent. All staff were very helpful and had good knowledge of the area to answer any questions we asked. Car Parking was too expensive at 10e and should be reduced to 5e per night. The WiFi should be free for residents. The restaurants prices should be in keeping with the competion outside the hotel to keep clients in and attract chance custom.

If you happen to need lodging in Mataró or surroundings and you have a car available, it's a choice you won't regret. Almost directly at the beach although not too close to the city center (you can still walk there), with 24h service and really nice rooms (parquet floors), this hotel will cover all your basic needs and then some. It's not a hotel to spend your holidays closed inside the room, but you can hardly beat the price/quality ratio if you're on holiday and all you need is a place to stay and eventually eat. We didn't try the restaurant, as we prefer to eat wherever we are at the moment, but it looked clean and nice.Mataró itself doesn't have that much to look at or do unless you happen to be there during the local festivals, but it's close to Barcelona and Girona has nice beaches. From there you can take trains north or south (train station is not far from the hotel). This hotel is located at the outskirts, in the university area, but since Mataró is not that big to start with, it's not an insurmountable difficulty. If you have a car, nice mountain hikes are easy to reach.We cannot say how busy it looks on a weekday, but during the holidays it was very quiet, even within the hotel itself, we slept pretty well.All in all, an experience we might repeat in the future.
