"Would use this hotel the next time I visit York"
19th May 2012, MrOre, Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom
Like a good many hotels in old buildings some works are needed to bring up to modern standards. Our room had tissue paper to stop draughts coming through the top of the window frame, for example. These failings are not things that cannot be resolved and the positives of cleanliness and an attentive staff at all times far outweigh any negatives. It is so close to the station too, with some nice bars and restaurants, in addition to its own good value food, also on the doorstep. As a real ale drinker although the food appealed to me I preferred to use the external bars for drinking and the location of the hotel allowed me to easily do this.
"Not quite your typical Ibis"
14th April 2012, Barnsley, United Kingdom
Super old building with a bit of character-creaking floors, banging doors yet lovely rooms; pity it doesn't give you hand towels!

"Ibis - York"
10th April 2012, Leeds
Nice basic hotel, close to city, shopping, restaurants and train station yet far away from centre to avoid noise (10 minute walk).Room was comfortable with large shower room. We had a good nights sleep and woke up refreshed,The staff were poite and helpful. Breakfast was tasty; with good selectiom available. We would definately stay at the Ibis York again if we wanted a few days in York.

"Dowm time in York"
2nd April 2012, Edinburgh, United Kingdom
This Ibis hotel is ideal for a city break in York, especially if you plan to travel by train. We were only 10 minutes’ walk from station and 5 minutes’ walk from the York wall walk. The Hotel staff where very friendly and helpful. The room was cheap and cheerful, all in all a good time was had

"Disappointing beds!"
23rd February 2012, London, United Kingdom
This hotel is conveniently located for the railway station, the city and local buses. It is clean and reasonably well furnished, the staff are efficient and friendly and the breakfasts are good. Our double room on the ground floor was equipped to accommodate disabled guests - not a problem for us except that the bathroom had a shower but no cubicle - so the whole of the bathroom floor became rather wet after the shower had been used and no provision had been made for drying it off. Our only complaint overall was that the room contained twin beds; the wooden bases could be pushed together, but the mattresses wouldn't stay in place!!

"needs some improvement"
22nd February 2012, Skipton, United Kingdom
room wasn't the cleanest. Bed wasn't comfortable and we made the mistake of removing the sheets in the morining only to discover how dirty the matress and pillows were (this includes blood stains) Walls were really thin so you could hear all noises from all other people staying in the hotel and also cars passing by. The bed vibrated everytime a truck passed by (we were staying on the second floor)Toilet was pretty decent, though.

"A pleasant stay in York"
19th February 2012
Friendly and helpful service, the room was clean and not too small the bed was comfortable. The hotel is well positioned, within walking distance of York city centre. The restaurant provided a generous breakfast at a very reasonable price and lunchtime and evening snacks and meals are available; a limited but acceptable menu. The walls were perhaps a little thin and traffic noise sometimes intrusive but such excellent value for money

I think this was the coldest nite of the year, 14o below! Which is cold for England.I had to get another duvet, the staff were superb on all counts, nothing was to much trouble or bother. Thanks to all concerned for making our stay such a nice one.

"York Ibis"
9th February 2012, Walsall, United Kingdom
Excellent location, a short walk from the city centre, with own car park. Basic, but clean. Breakfast could have provided more choice, but staff friendly and helpful. Good, powerful shower, but bed a bit too soft for our liking. Would definitely consider staying there again.

"FREEZING COLD OUTSIDE"
7th February 2012, ANNIEDarlington, Darlington, England
The warmth of the hotel was a welcome escape from the freezing cold outside. The staff were exceptionally helpful, polite and friendly. The room was roomy, warm, comfortable and ideal for our visit to York. We had a hearty buffet breakfast with as much tea and coffee as we could drink. It was only a short 5 minute walk to Micklegate and a further 10 minutes to reach the centre, i.e. the Minster and Shambles. The cost of the hotel was more than reasonable at £42.50 Bed & Breakfast for a couple sharing a double room. Will certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

"Good budget hotel in good location AND free parking"
4th February 2012, Denise_
Stayed Friday 27th Jan for one night. Room basic but a good layout and it had everything that was needed. Hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities. There was a large mirror with a socket next to it for drying hair, which is sometimes unusual even in 5 star hotels. No bath, but Shower was excellent. Good, budget hotel in a good location. The hotel has its own car park which is small but free which was a bonus. Breakfast buffet again was good value for money.Staff helpful and friendly. Will definitely return when next in York.
"Birthday treat for my partner and friends."
7th January 2012, Nottingham
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Good location, a pleasant 10 mins walk to the city centre. The rooms had a hairdryer, t.v and other services. Buffet breakfast was good, polenty of choice. My only complaint was the key card played up and a member of staff had to let us in. Friendly, helpful staff.I would recommend this hotel.
