"Basic but OK"
16th September 2013, alicia0704, Shrewsbury, United Kingdom
Very basic but clean hotel and ideal location for a one night stop particularly if you have to leave very early as we did. Disappointed that there was no tea/coffee making facilities in room so we had to get cold drinks from the vending machine but we used the Ibis next door for our evening meal where we did get 10% off because we were staying at ETAP. Our key card would not open the lift doors and so the receptionist had to get access for us and this happened every time we re-entered the hotel. Receptionist very pleasant and helpful and check in was efficient but would not accept my Le Club Accor card so could not get my points. We paid £52 for the room for one night which wasn't bad but from reading some other reviews this is quite a bit more than others have paid.Overall though hotel quite adequate for our needs
"Value for money"

Good value, cheap and comfortable hotel. Offers easy access to National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham airport and Birmingham International railway station. Stayed during three day visit to exhibition. Have used for three consecutive years now and will use again next year.
"Cheap and cheerful"

Great location for early flight, saved anxious wait for taxis/ airport parking, clean and relatively quiet. DO NOT BOOK TRIPLE ROOM if you don't like making your own bunk bed!! apparently hotel H&S policy dictates it's unsafe for staff to climb up and make the bed for you??
"Excellent hotel and extremely reasonable"

I paid £25 for a double room. This has to be the best value airport hotel anywhere. Just outside the terminal - no bus ride necessary. The room was clean, very comfortable and the breakfast good value at £4.95. Just one small complaint - it is a shame that the nearby hotels Ibis and Novotel do not serve food after 10pm as being located at an airport, travellers are often arriving later than this.View management response »

"Stayed with my children"

The location of the hotel is great especially if you have an early departure. It's literally just across the road from the airport. It was really good value for money and the shower was fantastic. The staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and regularly serviced.Of course being out of the town centre meant we had to catch the bus into town everyday which added to the cost of the holiday.but otherwise, no complaints at all.View management response »

"Great airport hotel"
30th August 2013, Jodied1989, Banbury, United Kingdom
We stopped here last week when we returned from our holiday as we landed in the early hours of the morning & needed somewhere to sleep before we got our train home. I have stopped at Novatel & Ibis (also at Birmingham airport) so thought I'd give Etap a chance. As it is so cheaply priced I worried it would be loud and grotty but it's not. It's a small basic room but very clean. the mattress was quite hard but I was so tired it didn't bother me and I heard no noise. I would deffo recommend this hotel and stay again.View management response »

"Good location but not what we experienced before"
17th July 2013, pharm51, Malta
We had stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago because of its location being within reach of relatives living in the area. So this time we decided to do the same and stayed for 10 nights. All was OK except that at breakfast time we were let down most of the time. Ok it is a budget hotel but we are aware of what is on offer at breakfast so we were rather disappointed to see that if some items run out, they were not replenished or were not even available for several days. We had breakfast at different times of the day and it was still the same. For example, cold cuts were only available Tue, Wed, Thurs and maybe Fri being "out of stock" for the rest of the days. It was also usual to have more than one item running out at the same time. We have used Etap hotels in other parts of the UK and even in Europe and there was never any problem. As said above, we were there for 10 nights so it was not a one-off problem but a recurrent one. We used to complain but no action was taken to improve the situation. So for our next trip to that area we will not be staying at this Etap anymore.View management response »
Management responseThank you for taking the time to leave feedback of your recent stay. We value all guest feedback as it gives us the opportunity to access our service standards. I was disappointed to learn that you were unhappy with the breakfast served in our hotel, and for this I would like to sincerely apologise. We have recently extended our breakfast buffet offering in order to give our guests more choice, however we have experienced some operational difficulties in ensuring all the items were consistently present each day. I can however confirm that these teething issues have since been resolved. We hope we can convince you to stay with us again on your next visit to the local area. "2 nights at Etap Birmingham Airport"
11th July 2013, RobNewport, Newport, United Kingdom
My wife and I stayed at the Etap Hotel the night before we flew out on holiday and the night of our return. Although a budget hotel I found the staff to be helpful and the room to be clean. the only downside was the bed was really firm and on both occasions neither of us slept that well, but for flying out of Birmingham airport the fact that its only a 2 minute walk from the terminal is a big plus. I only paid £25 & £34 for the nights we stayed so a bargain really, I would stay here again.RobView management response »
Management responseThank you for reviewing our hotel. We are glad that you enjoyed you stay. Regarding the comfort of our beds, we are due a refurbishment later this year with new beds which should improve on comfort. We hope to welcome you back to experience the improvements.Kind regards,Robert VeldtmanGeneral Manager
"Stay at the Etap"
6th July 2013, cmbsd, Banbury, United Kingdom
stopped at the etap in june and paid only £27 pounds. Very good value for money, that said the toilet and shower were a little cosy but we were not in the room that long anyway. Had good views of planes coming into land. It was only 2 minutes walk to the terminal. I would stop here again as the service was good and hotel was in an ideal position.View management response »
