"Mercure Launceston"

The staff at Mercure Launceston were very helpful. The rooms were clean but a bit stuffy on our first couple of nights in February but the weather had cooled down when we returned in March so was no problem then. The meals at the restaurant were great. Location was grreat - near the city and we were easlily able to walk to Cataract Gorge.

"Mercure Launceston: Could use a renovation"

We stayed in two different rooms. The first one only had a portable evaporative cooler that didn't do much and windows towards the afternoon sun, so it was too hot. The second had air conditioning, which was fine. The bathrooms are a bit old fashioned with fixed shower heads. Breakfast is good as is the restaurant. However, the service in the restaurant was a bit iffy when we were there, maybe they didn't have enough staff for the number of guests. The location is very close to the center. Parking can be a bit tight when the hotel is almost full.

"Great place to stay."

Have stayed here several times and the whole service from check-in to check-out was again very well done. I have heard that people complain about paying $5 additional for parking, it has now gone up to $6, but it is worth it it my opinion.

Friendly helpful staff in Reception both face to face and on the telephone for enquiries and bookings etc.Central location in easy walking distance of clubs, pubs, shopping, live theatre and other entertainment, restaurants and sidewalk cafe. Easy parking at rear of Mercure at reasonable cost
