Hotel was quite well maintained, staff were very friendly and willing to help despite the language barrier once in awhile.. Wifi in the room is abit uncertain though, which the staff had one changed for us, but from a queen superior to twin superior. Otherwise, we were overall quite happy. Daily breakfast served was rather repetitive, was taste of food made up for that.View management response »

I am writing to express disappointment and frustration with yourhotel's management of its facilties. I stayed in your hotel with my buddy family from 6 to9 Sept in Room 437 & 438 respectively.My buddy daughter, Claris Toh, was injured as a result of the collapsed ofthe table tennis table on her, it left 3 wounds on her thigh ( onevery deep wound ). Her mother had expressed our frustrations to your staff whohad accompanied them to the hospital, We are reiterating our frustrationhere again. Her daughter is preparing for youth festivalcompetition and also ballet exam, now she is also unable to engage inall her normal days activities like swimming class, roller bladingclass. It has caused much inconvenience to us and much disruption toher schedules.They had incurred medical expenditure here in Singapore for follow-ups.Now her daughter's thigh is badly swollen and doctor advised that ifshe is still experiencing pain on after this week, she will beprescribed with X-ray examination for further investigation. I haveattached the photo of her current situation for your record.We are unable to understand why was the table tennis table was soloosely fitted? Not only the two half-tables were not securedproperly, even the screwed on legs were loose as we inspected it afterthe incident with your staff. It brings us to think how well are thefacilities in the hotel are maintained to ensure safety of yourcustomers?We demand an explanation from your hotel on the outcome ofinvestigation of the case.

The hotel is clean, easy to go everywhere but still need the tuk tuk or taxi if we want to go to Jung Celon or Patong Beach unless the people like to walking. 15 minutes walking to Jung Celon and 5-10 Minutes to Patong Beach.Near to Hard Rock Hotel and a lot of massages house around the street.Better trying massage with the oil massages...it is very nice.I think it will much better if the hotel can give the shuttle bus services for the guest who will go to the beach and Jung Celon.Since it's not easy for the old peoples and children walking to far.View management response »

All in all the stay at the Mercure was average however for $80 incl. breakfast per night, I wasn't expecting anything huge. A few things that could have improved on would be getting the rooms cleaned - I only had my room on do not disturb for maybe an hour each day and it seemed like most days we were bypassed. Then on the days we did have our room cleaned they only cleaned out one bin - we had to take rubbish to the elevator bins so we weren't overflowing! As we were on a cheap & cheerful type holiday it was perfect. We had a pool view room which I found to be great & peaceful (besides at night when some guests didn't feel the need to close their blinds... yikes!). The comments I read prior to leaving about the noise from other guests booming through the door as they walk to the elevators was spot on & super annoying especially with a baby - however I think this not as much a hotel problem as it was guests just having no consideration for others. Location is great and overall the service was friendly and the hotel was great value for the price. I would stay here again however if I was going to splurge I would most likely stay elsewhere - definitely not my idea of a honeymoon resort.View management response »
