"Stay in Guatemala City"

The Mercure Casa Veranda is a good place to stay if you want to be within 10 mins of the International Airport. (The fare to airport is Q35.00; make sure to use only Yellow Taxis.)This hotel is part of the Accor Group, but does not offer any amenities to Favorite Guest Members who pay the annual membership fee, like a welcoming drink, or free bottled water. The staff is efficient and friendly, and we have no complaints about our stay. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance, with lots of variety. Due to security issues, we do not recommend that one walks about after dark; certainly, never alone. Stay in groups or use Yellow taxis to get around.

Full service hotel focusing on business traveler whom wants a great hotel for accommodations, hearty breakfast, and near great restaurants in the neighborhood. The hotel has an outstanding Spanish restaurant "Boqueria." The rooms all seem to be like 1 bedroom apt with efficiency kitchen and living room (sleeper sofa). Have stayed with my family (2 children & 2 adults) and been very comfortable.Have been traveling to GT for about 20 years...and this is in top 3 in Guatemala City. This hotel is more traditional and practical in feel. It is no opulent and luxurious as compared to other accommodations. However, the exceptional value over compensates.
