ibis Albert: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent stay in Albert"

15th May 2012, annie708, St Helens, United Kingdom

I visited Albert with my husband and mother in order to see her grandfather's grave. The hotel is ideally located for visits to the main cemeteries and memorials in the area and about 5 minutes by car to the town centre. There is a large, free car park which we appreciated. Our rooms were modern, spotlessly clean and of a reasonable size. I slept very well because the bed was comfortable and the room was dark and quiet, despite being on the ground floor. The bathroom was small but had a powerful walk-in shower. The breakfasts were buffet-style and there was a good choice of cold food but no cooked options on offer. We had two evening meals in the restaurant and enjoyed them both, although the cuisine was fairly simple - roast chicken and chips and salmon with rice. There was, however, a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

ibis Albert: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Service....what service??"

5th May 2012, DrDaveWakefield, Wakefield

The hotel is situated in an industrial estate outside Albert - too far to walk into the town so it's a hotel for car drivers really which suited us. Close to the Somme batt;efield attractions too. Reception was fine and the clean rooms more than adequate ( if a bit soul less). The 'capsule' bathroom was odd but nothing wrong with it.The issue is the bar/restaurant. Appalling service . The hotel was not busy but folk were ignored at the bar , and their dining tables - told there were 'no glasses left so you can't have a drink' (rubbish , there were plenty on show). The bar staff ould be seen waiting at the bar for customers then vanishing as a customer approached. We had to drag staff inside from the car park where they spend their time smoking to serve us a meal. When it came it was poor quality touristy rubbish - not cheap either. I could go on with the anecdotes but suffice to say the bar/restaurant service was consistantly terrible. I hate to think what it'll be like when the hotel gets anything like busy.Unless they pull their socks up - avoid this place like the plague.

ibis Albert: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good quality hotel"

2nd May 2012, World-traveller-aus, Canberra, Australia

Perfect location for seeing ww1 battlefields. Very helpful staff even when busy. Albert is close for shopping. Only complaint was the dinner in the hotel restaurant, wasn't the quality expected.

ibis Albert: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent stay at Albert"

26th April 2012, teresa_everest, Lewes, United Kingdom

The rooms were soundproofed, clean and bright and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The restaurant offered good, value for money food.

ibis Albert: 5.0 out of 5 stars "short break"

ibis Albert: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good value for money"

14th March 2012, Paris, France

Good value for money. We have stayed here before and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. The hotel is out of the town but that was fine as we were visiting the Somme battle grounds and memorials (which were very close by)

ibis Albert: 4.0 out of 5 stars "What a gem."

20th October 2011, Melbourne

This hotel is in the perfect location if you're off to see the Somme battlefields. Albert is a beautiful village and has a great musuem. The hotel rooms are spacious by European standards, the staff were friendly and helpful, there's a very good in-house restaurant (and McDonalds is just accross the road!). All in all a good experience.

ibis Albert: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Comfortable stay for the end of holiday"

8th October 2011, toffee1, northern england

A new hotel which is a good base for an overnight stop to and from the Channel Ports and for visiting the war memorials and the Somme Valley which is very pretty. The evening meal and breakfasts are very good and the staff are very pleasant.

ibis Albert: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Pleasant Stay"

20th July 2011, Wisbech, Cambs

Stayed at Ibis Albert for 2 nights whilst on touring holiday. Comparatively new, typically Ibis hotel, clean, comfortable and convenient for many WW1 sites. Some way out of the town away from restaurants etc. However, hotel bar and restaurant provide good food and service at reasonable cost. Staff friendly and helpful. We arrived very late but had advised hotel in advance. On arrival we were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Have used numerous Ibis hotels and this one did not disappoint. Family had used it previously. We shall most probably use it again.

ibis Albert: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Does what it says on the tin"

27th June 2011, Worksop

Great location for the Somme.Quiet, clean room, basic but that's fine.No problems at all.Friendly staff whi speak EnglishGood breakfast for your 8 EurosClose to all the local battlefields/museums etc, etc.Thiepval/longnachar crater/Albert museum/Little Train in Froissy all within spitting distance. If you like aeroplanes then look out for the Airbus Beluga which requents Albert airport quite a lot

ibis Albert: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good but...."

15th June 2011, Hoofddorp

The hotel is situated at a very quiet place at the outskirts of Albert (that's a lovely 1920-rebuilt town with a lot of 1914-1918 history). So very quiet and easy to reach from all big routes (Mototway!). It's a rather new hotel, with a nice and good restaurant with good selection. There was only one thing at our room and the recepption didn't know what it could be: there was a blowing of fresh (cold!) air, not from the arco, but from near the window, it was rather cold and a little bit noisy... Fresh-air-installation? And we found the price rather high compared with other Ibis-hotels and the value-for-money...

ibis Albert: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis in albert"

15th June 2011, seapoint40, Helens Bay

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst on a tour of The Somme battlefields. The hotel staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful as well as being good value. Beer was the equivalent of £5 per pint which was a bit of a shock !Do not stay here without looking at a map, as it is a mile into the town centre.Overall our experience was good, but the bed was the most hard and uncomfortable I have ever slept in, an average of 4 hours sleep per night was not a pleasurable experience.

ibis Albert: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent Value"

6th June 2011, Sheffield

This hotel was excellent all the way, pleasent staff, some spoke English, Lovely shower etc and it was one of the most comfortable nights sleep in a hotel I have have for a long time. The only down side was the price of the drinks nearly £10 for 50cl beer and a bottled water but you didn't have to buy them, 15/20 mins walk to village where it was a lot cheaper. The food was nice in the evening and plenty to eat for breakfast and a good selection to choose from, overall excellent.

ibis Albert: 4.0 out of 5 stars "a very pleasant stay, children made most welcome"

22nd April 2011, doncaster

The staff were very helpful especially considering two young children (2 and 3 years). The rooms were very clean and offered very good value. It was a quiet location and ideal for our stop over. The staff were very helpful especially given my poor french. The evening meal was reasonably priced and the children were able to share a meal. Good as they arrived tired after a along journey. Most of the other guests were English visiting the world war one battlefield sights.

ibis Albert: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Hotel Albert France (Somme)"

29th March 2011, Seaford

Superb Hotel, warm friendly welcome, with first class rooms, spotlessly clean. Ideally situated just out of town, so nice and quite.Great base for anyone on the WW1 tours.Only down side, bar prices, very steep.

ibis Albert: 5.0 out of 5 stars "great value"

21st March 2011, epsom

This was a great value hotel, nice bar and restaurant, very close to centre of Albert, everything looked brand new, the staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant food was good if not exotic, but you get what you pay for. Breakfast too was good.
