"A night at Forest Resort"
22nd May 2012, Harrisoz, Gawler, Australia
The fact that we slept in says a lot about the comfort - the meals are excellent as well! It would have been good to arrive early enough to enjoy the sunset.
"A PIECE OF HEAVEN IN CRESWICK"
22nd May 2012, Mim757, Melbourne, Australia
I had to visit a client in a nearby town, and rather than drive up early in the morning, I booked and stayed at the Novotel Forest Resort in Creswick. I thought the room would be okay, even good.... but certainly did not expect it to be as stunning as it was. I had a room with an open fireplace, views over the golf course and a separate lounge, kitchenette and to top it off - a spa bath!!! Add to this the wonderful staff, not only at reception but also in the dining room, I couldn't recommend it more highly!!
"Gotta stay here!"

Great room, fantastic food, great service! A lovely quite night in with the spouse, peaceful and restful.
"Nice stay"
9th May 2012, lindaj24, Melbourne
We had a really nice stay here .. the quality of the accomodation was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. Couple of comments/suggestions ... the bath is a long, long way up from the floor; it was fine for us but if you were older or had a dodgy ankle it would be a hazard. A soap dish on the vanity would have been great; there wasn't one which, due to the shape of the bowl, meant the only other place to put the soap was back in the shower. Breakfast was good however there was miles too much bacon in the beau marie ... would be better cooked in smaller batches so some of it was crisp. Otherwise, all good. Thanks, we'll be back!
"Great Stay - lovely people and food but house keeping a bit average"
7th May 2012, aliciajh13, Ballarat, Australia
We had a lovely time - House keeping forgot to come and requested three times to come back but they all went home, so the poor man on reception came up with fresh towels and toilet paper etc. Overall food is fantastic (a bit pricey) but recommend room service. The bed was super comfy as well
"Poor Management"
5th May 2012, mmarj, Melbourne, Australia
I did endeavour to complete this yesterday but am not sure it 'went' so am doing again as believe it beneficial for hotel to be reminded of our dis satisfaction. Firstly I believe our room placement was not suitable for a senior couple as we are (it is our 4th visit to The Forest so that should have been known) to be placed between one which contained a bridal party and the other with several young people occupying it Sat night. Both these groups celebrated until 4.15am and dawn respectively meaning we had very little-NO sleep with the continual use of sliding door by the young folk as they accessed balcony for smoking, evidence of this was the number of butts on awning below wich had not been there prior. Also inconsiderate room placing for the strong men contestants who would also be desirous of sleep I imagine but were interrupted (we travelled in lift with a couple who mentioned this). When spoke of this unacceptable noise to desk I was told they were aware and we would have a quiet night next! After breakfast Sunday we noticed housekeeping in corridor so left for a tour of Clunes etc but were dismayed on our return at 1.45pm to find our room not tidied. Speaking to reception we were told 'been busy preparing rooms for incoming guests'! As rooms are to be vacated by 10am and not re-occupied prior 2pm surely this is also bad management . During our stay not once were the flloors cleaned - in our room or hallways nor our bathroom. I would recommend hotel (below) with reservation due to our previous pleasant stays but fear our 'love affair' with Creswick Novotel is now over.
"Great stay~"
27th April 2012, Cavd80, Melbourne, Australia
It was a pleasant stay at Novotel Forest Resort Creswick. Check in was smooth and easy. Relaxing and peaceful environment..Spacious room and friendly staff. The only downside is the room aircon is not working.. carpet with stains... and the bed is too soft for us.. But these don't stop us from recommending you to our friends and family..!
"One night in Creswick"
27th April 2012, Jim528977, Kiama, Australia
I found the hotel but parking was a problem. I needed to park a long way from reception as there were too many golfers taking up places and it was during a big conference. There was little signage to say what I shoulod do on my first visit - signs showing access to internal lifts would have been helpful. The service was good from a person who came from the room next door as the other two were too busy sorting themselves out. The room was satisfactory and we enjoyed our meal in the restaurant where the wait staff were very professional.
"Forest atmosphere with golfing views"
26th April 2012, travelocityknome, melbourne
Stayed at te Novotel Forest Resport for one night during a weekend get away. Very nice and modern hotel. Rooms were nice and comfortable, gym had a variety of equipment and the bar had good views of the golf course, especially the 18th hole. Sit yourslef down there in the afternoon to be entertained as the golfers make their way to the 18th hole and pull out all stops to get the elusive hole in one. We went to the restaurant for dinner, service was slow, but the food was of a high standard - steak was cooked as ordered, so that made the night. Good location in between Ballarat and Daylesford.
"Meh, very very average hotel."
25th April 2012, nymms, Melbourne, Australia
Rude front desk, terrible bathroom layout, overlooking noisy pool pump, noisy corridor, golf course looks half dead. Confirms Accors rush to the bottom philosophy of soulless bland accommodation.
"Forest getaway"
14th April 2012, gavinclancy, Melbourne, Australia
Excellent location and easily accessible to Melbourne and Ballarat. It's a good choice as a base for activities such as cycling and bushwalking.
"Lovely location but don't eat in!"
13th April 2012, Coco941, Melbourne, Australia
We had a lovely weekend away and have no complaints about the accommodation (although the walls are quite thin). We were extremely unimpressed with the food though. The bufet breakfast was cold and even the bircher muesli, which was meant to be cold tasted floury and inedible. For this reason we decided not to eat at the restaurant as it was extrmely expensive and we thought if they couldn't get breakfast right how could they manage dinner. We did order room service one night (only becasue the takeaway shop nearby was closed and we didn't feel like eating out) Wheh this arrived it wasn't covered. Both meals were luke warm and the pasta wasn't cooked properly. It was nearly 9.00 by the time we recieved it so we just put up with it. They were kind enough to give us the meal for free. It seemed as though everytime we went to reception someone was complaining about something! I'd say tehy have a great location and resort here. Get teh food right and people will come back.
"Pleasant forest location"
12th April 2012, RNJC2, Torquay, Australia
The service from staff was excellent. The standard room was spacious and fresh with a balcony to watch the sun set over the forest. The location amongst the forest was pleasant and the golf course was very interesting with the course in good condition. I would recommend using a cart as the first 9 holes are quite undulating and was quite hot when we played. The second 9 holes were less hilly but interesting with the water, especially the 16th holes.
"Short getaway"
11th April 2012, SolosMelbourne_VIC, Melbourne, VIC
Only 2 nights, but much needed and so easy to get too. Great room - stayed in 2 bedroom as we had 2 teenagers with us. Have to say the meals at Harvest are fantastic and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Thanks to everyone there !
"weekend getaway"
5th April 2012, Melbourne, Australia
A great place for a weekend away from the city. fantastic food in the restaurant. buffet breakfast was good. didn't like the automatic coffee machine.
"It should be so much better"
5th April 2012, Melbourne, Australia
Stayed there for 2 days with my family. Location and layout of hotel are good but the overall attention to detail poor and the hotel felt tired. It felt understaffed and with attentive but under skilled staff
"Golf Trip"
24th March 2012, Geelong, Australia
Our group had a very comfortable last night to our golf trip through Port Fairy and Mt Gambier.. The rooms were very comfortable with beautiful views overlooking the golf course. Our evening meal was absolutely superb, served by a most entertaining waiter. It was easily the best meal we had on our trip. I would like to see the golf course fairways widened by thirty metres to avoid adding to the lost ball collection !! It was a challenging course.

"Ovepriced and blaring music in the hallway"
23rd March 2012, BenjaminBon, Sydney, Australia
This was possibly the wurst Novotel experiences ever. When we arrived the service at the front counter was efficient but cold. No information was really given to us as guests. Like "Your room number is 140, your included breakfast is in the Harvest 383 restaurant between sometime and sometime." But all we got was our room number. No extras. But this is when the hell started. We walked to our room and we noticed that the music that was in the foyer was also in the hallway on the 1st floor. When we got to the door of our room we laughed out how loud this crappy music was. After entering our room and engaging the air-conditioning we realised that we could still here this music. So long story sort. We complain half a dozen times, we had a range of excuses from "I am new here, its my second day, i don't know how to turn it off, i will get the night manager to do it when he arrives." "We will turn it down" it didn't get turned down. Three nights we stayed there and three nights in a row the music was blaring till 11pm and then on again at 830am. Its was absolute crap. To top it off the food and beverages were very expensive. quality was good but far to expensive. And the A?C in our room was malfunction. I know this because i work for an A/C company, When we complained about that we were lied to as to why it was not working. All in all, most horrible time I have ever had at an hotel.

"Wedding Stay"
21st March 2012, Adelaide, Australia
Good freinds recently got married and had their reception at the Novatel so most of the guest stayed there also, it is a beautiful seating, the rooms are large and clean and the staff very helpful. A great location to explore the Dalesford area and if you are a golfer and absolute must. Only complaint as 2 singles sharing a room - the bathroom emits too much light into the bedroom area. As girls better lighting in the batroom would be good.

"Restaurant"
19th March 2012, Geelong, Australia
Accommodation was fine, but the service in the Restaurant was very very slow. Waiters need to improve their act and smarten up. Several times we had to request service. After requesting something from a waiter/waitress they never returned. The food couldnt be faulted, absolutely lovely but the service to go with it was terrible!!!!!!

"Mixed Feelings"
16th March 2012, Portland, Australia
In favour: the rooms were lovely and clean with a very pleasant outlook. The bed was so good I checked to see what make it was. We played a very enjoyable game of golf on an interesting course for very reasonable guest rates.Staff were courteous and helpful.Against: So many admin bungles- poor communication regarding confirmation of booking, mistakes with the room type, being asked if we were booked in for a 2nd night when we had a 3 night booking, keys being inactivated, overcharging for the room, a wait of an hour and 1/2 before receiving even an entree in the restaurant. Hallways and restaurant needing a good vacuum and steam clean.

"Our 11th Wedding Anniversary"
16th March 2012, Werribee, Australia
Excellent accommadation. A lovely place to get away with the kids. Only 1hr from home. The kids the swimming pool and the fact that Ballarat is only 10 minutes away, we went to S/Hill for the day, which was lots of fun. The staff were very friendly and always helpful.
