"Bad transportation services"

I think that with so much fraud in the taxi system a hotel shuttle should be implemented. This also goes for Sofitel in Xi'An where I went next and where I had a very bad experience with your concierge service which could have potentially put me in danger. I definitely will not use Sofitel as my first choice in China anymore.

Very nice luxury hotel in Beijing. Location near to two subway stations, so most interesting places are easy to reach by public transport. Service quality is very good, hotel staff is always helpful (helping arrange train tickets, making reservation) and reacts on individual service wishes. The rooms have a nice view, only some viewable cables of installed lights and dust on the decoration reduces the feeling of luxury a little bit. We would recommend this hotel.

We checked in very late and were not given any information about the executive club lounge or hotel facilities. Had to find the lifts without direction. Had to ask for two room keys so we had one each. Only found out on day three our rate included breakfast in VIC restaurant as well as club loungeGym is well equipped & pool very nice.Our room was on level 25 & quiet. Good turn down service which included fresh towels.Nice touch to have bottled water included in room.

visited Beijing many times on business and tried to stay at different 5-star hotels. This time I picked Sofitel because physically it is located very close to my new office and secondly the price they charge appears to be rather low compared to many others. Even without the upgrade to a junior suite, the normal room is rather spacious and has all the amenities one would expect from a 5-star hotel. It has many eateries downstair which is convenient. The Oriental Club that it affiliates with provide decent massage though I was mistaken to be someone applying for a job when I walked in. Guess my causal look was not particularly appreciated by the receptionist! LOL
"The Most Grand And Brilliant Sofitel I Never Stayed Before"

Sofitel hotel is one of my favourite hotel and I spent about more than 40 nights a year at Sofitel during my leisure and business .Recently I stayed at this property about 4nights.Really speechless and excellent.We arrived at this hotel in the early morning and we allowed to manage early check-in and also upgraded my room to the second highest level which is Prestige Suite.It was a really BIG surprise for me and such a good gift after a long flight.The Prestige Suite not only huge and spacious,those amenities also very high class as well.Those friendly,caring and attentiveness staff really worth to give them one more 'Like'.They definitely will make you feel like your home and stay at their property comfortably.The comfy of the bed and mattress really want to make me wish to move them back together with me while I was checking out.I had a great and luxury breakfast at this hotel also.They do have many selections for your daily breakfast and they could make sure that you will not feeling bored about their breakfast everyday.There is a Club lounge staff and her name called-Iris Liu (劉家雯）.She is such a brilliant staff and really worth to give her a 'Like' .She is not only a staff who quite attentiveness and friendly,she is also a responsible and honest staff.She overcharged my account about 30RMB while I checked out.The day after tomorrow she sent me an e mail to inform me about that.Her honesty I really much appreciated.Overall for this hotel I really speechless and hope this hotel could be a top 10 hotel soon in Beijing.View management response »

"Poor staff training"

I have stayed many times in Sofitel but this is the worst I have experienced. I need to wait for long time when I checked in but the staff handling my check in do not know how to handle Le Club Gold Card. She need to ask many times to the experience staff beside but she is not helpful at all. I requested a non-smoking room and I was up graded to Executive floor as a Gold Card holder. However, I do not receive the executive lounge service or free soft drinks from mini bar. I was told by a supervisor that different Sofitel will have different policy when I ask for the services.I go to visit the restaurant for lunch after check in but there is only one restaurant still on service after 2 p.m. I ordered a seafood pasta but the seafood is not fresh enough. I have to ask the waiter to serve me bread after a long waiting for the pasta.When we went to bed at night and found that both the pillow and the blanket do smell cigarette. This should not happen for a non-smoking room in Sofitel !We have booked the rooms for two nights and counter confirmed when we were checking in . However, our electronic key do work for only one day. We have to go to the counter to extend the validity of our key and, as usual, we need to wait for long time.View management response »

"Fantastic Hotel, Terrible Bed!"

The Wanda Sofitel is a great hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful. They arranged a day trip to the Great Wall for us and made us up a packed lunch to take with us. They were happy to make dinner reservations for us. The decor is luxurious and nothing was dated or in need of updating. The major draw back to the hotel is that the bed was incredibly uncomfortable! My husband and I both had four of the worst nights sleep. There is a "pillow menu" and after the first night we both changed to memory foam pillows which helped a bit, but the mattress was really the main problem. And lets face it if you can't get a good nights sleep, it's not really worth staying there.View management response »

Stayed for five nights on 26th club lounge floor, beautiful room as Sofitel always have. The club lounge had lovely food, but could send there staff to Xi'an to see how to run a club lounge, very little service compared to other Sofitels, Breakfast was excellentView management response »
