"Great Stay, Great Service & Great Hotel"
18th September 2013, PerthGeek, Perth, Australia
My partner and I recently spent 4 nights at the Sanctuary Golf Resort when we were travelling with work. We had booked a simple studio room but they automatically (and without telling us until we walked in the room) upgraded us to a Suite overlooking the golf course. We found that it was very peaceful and quiet (We were there during the week - might be different in Summer or on weekends). The rooms were immaculate and well appointed (although we found things in kitchen were stored in a slightly odd manner). There was a fantastic two person bath and good comfortable beds.We ate dinner at the restaurant a couple of times - found the wait staff to be friendly and welcoming (although sometimes a little distracted). The food was fantastic and the serving sizes spot on. Continental Breakfast was included in our room - it was reasonable and serviceable breakfast with enough options to fill you up.Anytime we interacted with any of staff they were friendly, efficient and welcoming. It isn't actually in Bunbury it is a bit over 10 min drive from the city centre - which could be off-putting if you had dinner and drinking plans. We knew this in advance and were ok with it because room was such a reasonable price and the surroundings so fantastic. Our room was around the back of the complex while the car park was around the front - it meant we were humping laptops and paperwork a fair distance each morning and night when returning to our room but a very minor quibble. My work colleagues and I stay in Bunbury fairly regularly but had never stayed before - I think it may have become our new default.
"Enjoayable stay at All Seasons Sanctuary Golf Resort, Bunbury, WA"

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, our room was comfortable, well equipped and private. Excellent facilities with the restaurant onsite, which had a lovely relaxed feel to it and friendly helpful staff. The bed was comfortable and loved the rolling views of the golf range from our front door. Only complaint main meals were a little highly priced in the evening, but being able to order snacks throughout the day was a bonus as was the free breakfast buffet. Overall great value for money and an excellent place to stay, we would defiantly stay here again, Thank you

What a great return experience. Last time was as couple and we enjoyed the pool area and tennis courts. This time was with a 7 & 5 year old in tow. Anyone with children knows "that" look when you arrive with children. But not here, the children were acknowledge and asked what they were doing in Bunbry. A good start. Then we neded an early 5pm dinner on the Saturday evening for 6 adults and 4 children due to a family member having to work that night. No hassles, no stressed staff they gave us the choice of using the lunch menu which finishes at 5pm or the dinner menu which starts at 6pm. On arrival the children were greeted with an activity pack, their order was taken straight away, given to the kitchen then our order was taken. A great idea as they were happily eating quickly which meant a happy table with no unsettled kids :) This was great as it allowed the adults to chat away until our meals arrived. The bed was comfortable reat choice of pillow; towels lovely and soft with great TV reception for the children. OK I will acknowledge that this is a country resort hotel and rates higly but it is not a 5 star city hotel. I only say this as some people appear to not appreciate the diffference when comparing reviews. A relaxing, stress free resort with ample free parking, access to the golf course as well as tennis courts and a pool. A short drive from the city of Bunbury so really a suitable location.View management response »

Great place! Shame about the bad weather! We were unable to use the tennis court due to heavy rain. The continental breakfast was a good extra....beautiful light and crispy croissants. Check in and check out was patch, not particularly professional.View management response »

Management responseDear Guest,Thank you for reviewing your stay at the Sanctuary Golf Resort. I can understand your displeasure when the inclusions shown to you on the Accor website did not match what was printed on your confirmation nor relayed directly to us by Accor. Unfortunately we can only honour the stated inclusions on the booking confirmation as we are not privy to what you see online at the time of booking. In regard to your meal in the restaurant, it is standard practice for our staff to check if diners are happy with their meal shortly after it is served. I am concerned that if you did voice a concern at that time that it was not handled appropriately. If this is the case could you kindly contact me so I can better understand the situation.Kind regardsAnn LifshenSales Coordinator

I must admit our stay was only one night as we were in Bunbury for a family visit. Unexpectidly we ended up with a 2 1/2 year old for the afternoon / evening from our check in time at 1.30pm until that evening at 9pm. What a surprise that staff were so completely accepting of that fact. We had lunch and our dinner in Vittorias Resturant and staff were excellent. They actually took the time to speak to our granddaughter vs. the usual ignore that you expect when taking a toddler to a restaurant. Our grandaughter is mature for her age as she is used to travel and strangers. When she finished her meal she was content to sit and sing quietly to herself and the staff even commented to her that it was lovely singing. Now the food - to start the service from the competent staff was very good and they were able to clearly answer questions about the menu. I enjoy my food and this experience was absoutelyl fantastic - the presentation was great but the best part was the taste - everything we tried from the steakburger and tandoori wrap at lunch to the pork & paella at dinner was melt in the mouth terrific. The childs serve of spaghetti bolognase was huge and fed both the toddler and her 9 month old sister who had joined us with their mother (our daughter). Again staff were not fazed at having a baby in a highchair at the table.Dessert - what can I say - initially wary of the cold crepes it turned out to be a mouth watering ,excellent end to a great taste experience. The Chefs cheesecake - what can you say exept thats what cheesecake should taste like. It was a shame we were only there for one night, the room was well presented, clean and tidy; we had the location we requested away from the pool area ( which is excellently maintained and a pleasure to use). Bed was comfortable and the aircon easily adjusted to suit. The patio area overlooking the golf course was a terrifc spot to watch the sun go down. Yes I will go there again, it was a relaxing day and evening even with an unexpected toddler in attendance.View management response »

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Kids enjoyed the pool and the apartment was ideal for our needs. The only slight downside was poor soundproofing between the apartments, you could clearly hear the people next door, and they weren't being especially noisy.View management response »
Management responseThank you for writing a review of your stay at the Sanctuary Golf Resort. We're really pleased to hear that our property met your family's needs and that you had an enjoyable stay.Your comment about the sound from the neighbouring room is concerning to me and it is the first time I have heard about it being an issue. I have referred your feedback to our Maintenance team to see if there is anything they can suggest. Thanks again for writing a review and we hope to welcome you back to the Sanctuary in the future.Kind regardsAnn LifshenSales Coordinator
"Nice place to stay"

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. It was good, comfortable and met our needs. You would need a car as it is out of town far enough that public transport would be impossilbe. Nice location overlooking the golf course. Need to stay a few nights to use the pool and appreciate the location to feel like you got value for money. Continental breakfast was great and was included in the cost.View management response »
Management responseThank you for taking the time to review the Sanctuary Golf Resort. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay. Your suggestion that a car is necessary is very true for any guests that would like to venture beyond the Resort's facilities. Many of our guests spend their whole stay at the resort utilising the golf course, tennis court, swimming pool and on site restaurant but as our property is located 5 km north of the centre of Bunbury and public transport is very limited in this whole region a car is needed to venture further afield. We hope to welcome you back to the Sanctuary again soon.Best regardsAnn LifshenSales Coordinator
