Mercure Bunbury Sanctuary Golf Resort is centrally located approximately 90 minutes south of Perth in the Geographe wine region. Set on 56 hectares of rolling fairways, gardens and lakes, featuring 38 semi self contained apartments surrounding a freeform resort pool and heated spa and overlooking the golf course or gardens. First trip to WA; found this hidden gem, which gave us a great place for golf and relaxation. Also an unexpected fabulous New Year's Eve function preceded by a comprehensive, beautiful buffet. Don't be put off by others negative feedback; for sure we had the odd minor problem, which once reported were all immediately resolved. Staff extremely helpful, efficient & courteous. Plenty of facilities for all ages onsite as well as in and around Bunbury. For example, Dolphin Discovery Centre, Wineries & Farmers Market, good cafes and restaurants and so much more.

When I checked in there were at least three dead moths on the carpet (along with other various debris) and these were still there when I checked out 4 days later. Every second morning the sprinklers came on just before 5am and intermittently sprayed water on the corrugated tin roof making it impossible to sleep. I mentioned both of these issues to Ruby at Reception who said she would "mention it", but offered no apology. I was there on a business trip and did not expect luxury, but a clean room and a good night sleep are minimum requirement.

Stayed at this hotel overnight and needed to check in early due to early arrival in town. Was hoping for an early check in as an Accor Advantage member but was denied and told to come back later that day. Was disappointed at hotel appeared to be quite empty as it was the middle of winter and I assume not too many golfers. I only bought a basic room but it looked like some nice 1 and 2 bedroom apartments were available. Beautiful grounds and golf course. Had dinner at the restaurant, was a generous serve and reasonably priced, also received great service. Also had breakfast which was again good service, and fairly priced with a continental, buffet or a la carte available. Was very cozy with a fire going and the restaurant has nice views onto the golf course and a lake. Recommend this hotel. Best if you have your own transport as no shuttle to city area and its on the outskirts of town. Would stay here again and would definitely visit the restaurant again.
We stayed 2 years ago (Jan) and Went back back last year (Jan) and again last week. It's our yearly getaway as a family after the Christmas period. Not a lot to do on the grounds unless you play golf but for us the pool is always our highlight and we spend most of our days/night in there. Very peaceful. Pool and grounds in general are always kept up to a beautiful standard and staff are all very friendly and helpful. We will be returning year after year for the foreseeable future. Close (driving) distance to shops, Dolphin discovery centre Etc. We always take a drive to Busseleton while there too. Would recomend to anyone. Restaurant has beautiful food and staff. Wish we were still there.

Receiving a phone call the weekend prior to our 1 night stay we asked about an early check-in but advised because of long weekend & school holidays + being fully booked that we would need to check when we arrived. At 11.30am I drove to accommodation and asked but as room was not ready I was informed that they would phone me when ready. I ate my lunch at a gazebo part of the golf course where directed with no table/chairs and sprinklers on occasionally getting wet from sprays. After an hour still waiting I left and drove around Bunbury waiting for phone call. Finally at 2.30pm I chose to go again to accommodation as 2pm was listed as check in time where I was told oh yes I think the room is now ready. Only then was I able to go and settle into our room. What I really did not appreciate with such a so called high class accommodation and being a Silver Accor member was that I was not communicated to as when my room was ready. Receptionist came across as being very pleased to mess me around and actually thought it was funny. It actually caused unwanted stress which could have been avoided if her job was done efficiently and to high expected standards. Not even a apology was given. Little things like this do not leave long lasting good impressions. I hope my next experience will be more rewarding as a phone call would have made all the difference regardless if room was available or not.
The Mercure is a lovely property, with views over the golf course and very simple, relaxing rooms. However, I was very disappointed with the service. After booking online at the hotel's website, I saw the same room with the same conditions online for $30 per night less. I completed the "Price Guarantee" on the website within the stipulated 24 hours, and for the 6 weeks have only received vague statements from management as to why they won't honour the price guarantee. Very disappointing given the frequency with which I travel and the dozens of chains I have stayed at around the world. I will avoid any Accor property in the future.

It was good to look out from our apartment on to the golf greens but the apartment itself had very old carpets, very boring furniture and really had nothing exciting about it. It was functional at best. The apartment needed a good makeover. The staff were friendly and courteous and the surroundings were fine.

Accomodation: Facilities were king size and single beds, excellent to suit family members. Restaurant: Very good - previous Gold Plate Winner 3 years since previous stay - highly recommended. Championship golf course - not utilised this time.

Just a nice relaxing stay when you feel like doing nothing except relaxing,enjoying the surrounds and having great food in the onsite restaurant. Wished we could have stayed longer.Next time we will test the golf course out.
