"Delayed Honeymoon"

On arrival we had some bathroom and internet problems. The management team were efficient, understanding and very obliging in assisting us to have a wonderful experience with our 6 day stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Worthy of special mention were: Robin, Alfredo, Maurice, Dovile, and Rachael. They were all caring, personable, and genuinely interested in the guests on a one on one basis. We saw this daily with other guests as well.On our departure we felt we were leaving old friends as we had been treated like royalty.We can't wait to return to our second home.Grahame & Robin Henderson

"We love and will definitely come back again"

We stayed 4 nights at Sofitel (Krabi resort) from 2nd of Feb to 6th of Feb. We have to say we love this place and the friendly staff. The BBQ on Saturday night, the huge swimming pool, Kids Club and their friendly staff, luxury room all left beautiful memory to me, my wife and my 5 years boy. The front desk staff, like Nazeed, Peizhen (from HK)...are all very helpful and friendly. Nazeed even ask his colleague wrote a letter in Chinese to us before we left, it is so touching.My 5 years boy also had a wonderful piano practice with uncle Ordy, who perform in the lobby in the evening. On second night, my son suddenly woke up at 2:30 am cry and feel uncomfortable with his throat, can not breath smoothly somehow. We rang the front desk and they immaterially arranged hotel shuttle and sent us to hospital in Krabi. After checked, only a small issue and we were sent back to hotel at 4:00 am in the morning by the same hotel shuttle. With such excellent service, we can continue to enjoy our holiday without any worry.The location of the hotel is a little bit far from the crowded Aonang, but that's exactly the reason we choose and stay there. It is so quite, and so relaxing...We highly recommend this hotel for the family holiday at Krabi with kids, look for Nazeed if you need help just in case, you will not be disappointed.Oh, one more recommendation, do join the Hong Island speed boat trip, very well organized....See you next time, Krabi...

"Honeymoon-Trip"

We stayed in the Sofitel Krabi for 4 days and enjoyed their service and the hotel venue.As we were upgraded we received a Luxury Room, which was located a bit away from the pool, so that there was no noise at all. The room was big, clean and sufficiently equipped. Just the room-service took a bit in the morning to make the room, so that sometimes just at 1pm house-keeping showed up. But House-Keeping was very considerate and friendly.The location and the hotel are located not directly at the beach, but separated through a road, which we did not realize as disturbing. Their pool is really huge and a very nice opportunity to swim some long rounds. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, but sufficient for such a hotel. Just during peak-time there could be bottlenecks in seating space and staff was struggeling to clean tables for new guests.Except one evening we did not use the hotel's restaurants for dinner, as there are some nice restaurants outside of the hotel, for much less money. The only time was their "Thai Market", which we found really, really overpriced, with a very small choice and not really authentic Thai food (no Thai soup, no shrimps or fish, no vegetables). For 899Bht++ this was definitelly not worth the money!Their SPA is really nice though, with considerate staff and nice massages, even though they could last longer.As Sofitel Platinum guests we were invited to a wine-tasting and had access to club benefits, even though the benefits could only be used in one place, not e.g. at the pool bar, which would be a really nice option for Club guests.All in all we enjoyed our 4 days a lot and time passed by too fast. The hotel is definitelly worth a trip, if you plan to do a pool-holiday and just relax.

When I initially booked, I didn’t realise that the Sofitel Krabi is actually a 2.5 hour drive from Phuket airport. There is an airport at Krabi but our airline of choice; Cathay/Dragon doesn’t fly there. The drive is not arduous as the scenery is fantastic and the road network is pretty good, 4 lane highway some of the way. If you have driven in some other Asian countries their driving is pretty good in comparison.The Sofitel Krabi is located at Klong Muang Beach about 40 minutes from Krabi Town and 20 minutes from AoNang. The Hotel is not new, but is in excellent condition. It is in a fairly quiet area and has its own beach and roped off swimming area over the road from the hotel and golf course. The pool is great with plenty of room for everyone. The hotel had 90% occupancy and there was plenty of room for everyone to have a lounge by or near the pool. It has a swim up bar and the food and bar service was consistent with the rest of the Hotel and was excellent.We had an adjoining suite and room for a Family of 4. Both rooms were spacious and the beds were firm and very comfortable, particularly if you have a bad back. The level of housekeeping was to a very high standard, and was complimented by fresh flowers and fruit every few days.The restaurants were to a very high standard. The food choices catered to many tastes. The service in the restaurants was always friendly and helpful. Maya restaurant for breakfast, lunch and less formal dining was extremely relaxed, with staff seamlessly going about their jobs and always ready to help. The range of items available for breakfast was extensive. No matter what your nationality or culture, it was covered. The fresh bread and pastries were just fantastic. The Venezia was a little more formal, open for dinner but it had the same relaxed professional atmosphere as the rest of the Hotel. Their pizzas were fantastic as well as the desserts. The coffee shop was always friendly and as with the other dining facilities quickly recognised you and were pre-empting your order.The activities offered by the Hotel to the nearby islands were good. The Sofitel have 3 of their own speed boats which can take around 22 -24 people each. We took the day trip to Hong Island ( ~5 hours) which is about 10 minutes from the Hotel. Part of this package was use of 2 man Kayaks to paddle around the island to a lagoon which is quite spectacular. It takes about one hour to paddle there, look around in the lagoon that you can walk in and paddle back in time for lunch. The seas were very calm. We then had an opportunity to snorkel in the bay. There are many tropical fish to see. The most spectacular was the rainbow fish. Visibility is not fantastic, because of the Mangroves, but not too bad.We also took the Phang Nga Bay tour (~7 hours) which visits several islands, their lagoons and their spectacular rock edifices. "Relax to the max"

We had an awesome stay at the Sofitel Krabi. Everything except for the beds (which were terribly hard for myself - back pain every single morning) was perfect. Extremely friendly staff, great food and pool area. Our son loved the activities at the kids club. The Spa has excellent staff and so worth the money. Very relaxing! Perfect escape in great scenery.
