Mercure Batam: 2.0 out of 5 stars "I just can't believe it, the water heater inside the room is not working."

Very terrible, the water heater inside my room can't working. We want to change another room, but the receiption said that the waterheater system for the whole hotel also not working. What a big joke?? I'll never stay this hotel again.

We are very sorry for what you have been through, probably during your stay, we are carried out replacement of hot water main pipe supply for the rooms which we have informed through guest information in all rooms.During this project hot water supply to the rooms maybe interrupted for some hours. Again, please accept our deepest apologize.For your information we now have fixed and replaced main pipe and replaced new booster pump for water supply to the rooms, hopefully this may solve problem with water supply to the rooms.We hope this experience will not alter your confidence in Mercure Batam and I hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming and serving you again soon in Mercure Batam. The room is large for the price of budget hotel. Has interconnecting rooms available as well. The linen were all clean and the room service was great. The staff at reception were very good and check in and check out very smooth. But the hotel is a bit tired and there were dents inside the bath tub which made me uncomfortable to use it for a bath. Good amenities and excellent facilities for couples and families and felt quite safe. Excellent spread of food for free breakfast. The downside is that it is located quite away from the city centre. I did explore a bit and found there were other hotels with similar facilities and close to Nagoya Hill. If I visit with family I will certainly stay there again.

service, location, value, rooms, housekeeping, receptionist, roomboy, etc are at average stage. Please try to improve on breakfast menu and quality. Try to promote promo package more often. Try to give more and better discount to all frequent guests. Parking area is too limited and please try to extend parking area.

The hotel was very good value for me since i took advantage of an ACCOR promotion. The service was good, internet worked. Room was clean. Wish the reception was more knowledgeable about the immediate vicinity. They were otherwise very polite and tried to be helpful. Providing a local map would be very helpful.

Before I stayed at this hotel on my last trip to Batam, I was staying in other hotel as recommended by my friend, but I was unsatisfied, and I moved to Mercure Batam on the 2nd day of my stay in Batam. I found Mercure Batam is good in everything, I will recommend all my friends to stay in Mercure Batam if they are on a visit to Batam. Please keep your good services. Thank you

room was fine. but sadly i was not welcomed as a guest. stood at the counter about 5minutes before someone apporched me and asked, "Who are u looking for?" WTF? requested for highfloor but i got Level3 instead. Requested for a good view but i got the back ally view. And finally when checking out, i got to pay hard cash because nobody there hv the initiative to even inform me that my credit card payment made was declined. Lucky enough i had some cash in my pocket. Mercure is well known for its customer service standands worldwide. But This Mercure, just dont deserves that title. WTF

I was in Batam for a weekend in April 2011 . Selected Mercure Accor located at Nagoya in Batam for the very attractive rate offered vis-a-vis the quality of rooms shown on the net as well as it being a branded property . When actually reached the Hotel , I was pleasantly surprised to observe that the Hotel and the room itself were as per the pictures shown . The room was pretty large and confortable and the Hotel staff very polite and efficient . Especially recommend the 120 mins aroma massage therapy at IDR 280,000/- nett . For me , it was an excellent value for me and the therapists were very good . Overall , would recommend this Hotel to everyone , whether on business or leisure .

We were in Mercure Batam Hotel for a stop-over only, less than 5 hr.Hence, I could not comment much. Yet, I would say the front counter staffs were polite & friendly.All items in the room were clean and the smell of their bedsheet & towels could tell they were freshly washed. :DHowever, we were being arranged on the 2nd level, a level with smoking rooms and not non-smoking room.I could not recall whether the booking system allows me to click "non-smoking room" as option. If not, pls suggest to accorhotel.com to allow us to do so for this hotel, & other hotels as well. :)Since we were there for a short period, we did not ask for a change of room.
