i have stay 2 times at Mercure Batam, first on January 2016 and the second times was begining of this month March 2016. I can say that this hotel was a nice hotel, staff reception very helpful and location good.

Mercure Batam is run down. Not recommended. If u stay on the room with connecting door you can hear people next door talk. Food is not good. I drink milk and the milk is sour. Carpet in the room is dirty. Water cattle have round pin but all the ac plug is square pin, hot to use? The mini bar didn't even have the wall plug. The shower have limitation to spray the water. We have to approach close to the wall.

« Old, poorly maintained hotel with customer-centric staff, but irresponsible hotel GM »

Old and poorly maintained hotel. Facilities were poorly maintained. E.g. Gym, hotel room, breakfast area, etc. Pool was considered okay. Daily breakfast was horrible, except the egg counter. Friendly and customer-centric staff is the only plus point here. Free shuttle service from hotel to Nagoya or BCS at 3pm and return at 7pm. My Accor account indicated non-smoking room and away from elevator. But was given a smoking room with strong cigarette smell. Requested for a room change, but was given a room facing the road. Extremely noisy. Requested yet another room change. Was given a smoking room without any cigarette smell, but next to the elevator. If the front desk staff Sutiayono was not customer-centric in his approach, I would ask for another room change. Had a blackout at night during my stay, but the electrical power did not return after hours. Had to call front desk to send someone to fix it in my room. Wanted to speak to hotel GM and was told that the he/she would be in hotel at 9am. However, he/she didn't bother to come to see me despite being my request. Very irresponsible. Perhaps the hotel GM would like to explain to me why he/she refused to see me despite my request and why I was not given the appropriate room that was fit for staying.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially about your room preference a Non-Smoking room and Away from the Elevator, the main electricity supply that blackout at midnight, hotel and the guest room still using old furniture and design, please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. In regards with room preference, we put our attention for any request from our customer. However, the room preferences request always subject to the room availability upon arrival. I could be wrong, but we did not find your request for a Non Smoking and Away from the Elevator on your booking confirmation. However, my staff had tried to find a Deluxe Room with 1 double bed on a Non-Smoking floor and Away from the Elevator, but you did not like because facing to the road. And, regarding the blackout on Friday night, you are right that the power supply was shut down from the City at 11.10 pm, which is beyond our control. And, unfortunately our auto generator failed running automatically in supplying our internal electricity, a technical issue, until our staff able to switch it on manually at 11.35 pm, 25 minutes long. I agree that it should not that long, normally. I always meet my customers during my working experiences and have never refused to meet my customers. Please accept my apology if your message did not pass to me at that time. I have instantly addressed these matters with the respective staff and managers to avoid the reoccurrence in the future. At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer. Therefore, your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. « My 2nd stay and probably the last »

To tell the truth I don't intend to stay here but due to some reason I don't have any choices left. This is my 2nd stay so I don't expect much. The room is standard and as my previous stay I feel like it lack of hospitality service. Overall it was so-so.

« Worst accor experience »

Hotel could not retrieve my booking. After much delay, they finally allow me to check in but of a different room setting. I was unhappy as the booking was made 2 months out. The receptionist told me that since the booking had not been charged, I can just leave the hotel and find alternatives. When check out, I wanted a receipt but was rejected. Receptionist said that online booking did not have a receipt even though I signed on the invoice. Provided accor club member on check in and check out but till today, nothing has been credited. And despite emails to the manager, no reply from the email. Avoid this hotel if you are a accor club member. Worst accor experience even worse than Ibis range.

« An old hotel,,,,but centrally located in the city »

If you travel from Batam Centre Ferry Harbour, paid taxi is Rp.60.000. The hotel is an old hotel building. Transportasi on by hotel car to airport cost Rp 100.000. If you need a car for City Tour, you can rent a car from the hotel for Rp. 350.00 (petrol cost exclude)
