This past weekend, my colleagues and I attended a book launch event in Sheffield, this hotel was located next door to the event so great location. As the title suggests this is a basic hotel, but meet our needs. I’m a wheelchair user so booked an accessible twin room, Space in the room was limiting but bathroom had walk in shower with both a seat attached to the wall or and high adjustable shower chair, The toilet was low, but that’s not unusual. Bed was comfortable. On arrival staff were friendly and pleasant.

I made a complaint already about my stay and I haven’t had anyone get back to me since then I asked for a refund as I was not satisfied with my stay like I have stated it before about what was the issue with the room.

Budget Dingy Dirty Room for NOT so Budget cost

We had stayed at this hotel previously and the room was very basic, but was acceptable. On this occasion we paid £122 for 1 night and was given Room 17. We also had to pay £7 parking in addition. The room walls were dirty, some lights didn't work and was generally grubby. We knew the room would be basic from our previous stay, however we DID still expect it to be cleaned properly. This was clearly not done, because the previous guest had stuck a used Nicotine or Medical style patch to the side of the bed frame that made the bunk above the double bed. In our opinion, if this was missed then so would other things. The rooms do not have any drink making facilities in the room but there is a machine in the foyer area. We did not pay for the breakfast as we knew from previous the choice is very limited and only continental is offered. However we did go to get hot drinks prior to checking out, but we're aghast to find that as we hadn't paid for breakfast we could have Tea for free, but Coffee was £1.95!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Ibis needs to either stop advertising as Budget or reduce the charge. We have stayed in the Premier Inn opposite this Ibis before which is so much nicer, has kettles in rooms, and offer more breakfast options for almost the same price and will stay here in future. AVOID

Great location for Sheffield arena, a 5 minute walk max! Very basic, bed not the most comfortable, pillows hard! No tea making facilities in room (perhaps I should have read up on this beforehand) you can make tea in foyer but coffee chargeable. For the price and location it was ok but don’t think I will opt for ibis budget again

Perfectly located when attending events at the Sheffield Arena. Simple in facilities but very clean and functional. A five minute walk from the venue to the hotel after the show certainly beats the mad scramble of departing the car parks. Staff were always busy but friendly and helpful.
