"Excellent Value"

Good location and brilliant value for money. Didn't bother with breakfast - Subway much better at the jet garage next door, or frankie and benny's full english for a fiver just across the road.

Did what it said on the box.. Cheapish. But comfortable.. I don't know what it it'd be like staying for a week but a one nighter.... I'd stay again.

this is a budget hotel,and you get what you pay for,dont go expecting alot for your money,we were pleased only payed £18 and we were pleased with what we got for our money.only thing we missed was a kettle to have a cup of tea,but next time we will just take our travel one,tram station just across the road £2.80 return to manchester city centre,plenty of eating and shopping places within walking distance,already booked to stay again

We stayed here for 5 days total. Overall, we had a good experience. The rooms are small, which makes it difficult if you have a lot of luggage or have 3 bigger people in the room. We were there over Easter holiday and it was very busy and had a lot of noisy young people. The hotel staff were helpful in trying to maintain acceptable noise levels late at night. Rooms at the front of the building are noisier with traffic and people. TV remotes did not work, although it was still possible to use the TVs. Tram stop within walking distance makes it very convenient to get around.

This is good hotel for that people, who want to discover the city or visit a match in the MU's stadium :) The hotel is clean, but rooms and the place of bath is quite small.

"What do you expect for £28"

I have seen some terrible reviews for this hotel but I have used Etap in France regularly and I knew what to expect. The significant difference for this hotel was the separate WC and shower. The WC cubicle was very small, and it is a little inconvenient to have to leave the cubicle to get to the wash basin, but the shower pod was brilliant (and French too) The sheets were pristine, and the bed exactly the right side of firm for me. The biggest let down was the stucco walls. They make practical sense but show up every mark as they are nigh on impossible to clean. The next cheapest hotel in the Quays was the Travel lodge, which wanted almost twice the money for a non-prepaid booking. If you are expecting 3 star elegance on less than B&B money then look elsewhere. But if money is tight and convenience is more important than trimmings, then this is for you.

Me and my son had some good days at the hotel. It's located near the Old Trafford Stadium, and offers good service, okay rooms and fine breakfast.

"Lack of service"

Car parking very limited - even though I wanted the room to sleep days (I work nightshift) when the car park should be almost empty, I was refused entry to the car park in the morning.Late checkout does not appear to exist - it is advertised but, again, I was refused when I required it on Thursday.Will go elsewhere next month.

"Does the job - rowdy residents though"

I've stayed here a few times now. The rooms are basic, but that's all I need. Very happy to pay £18 for this standard of accomodation. £44 the following day? Maybe less so.The most annoying thing from my stay, over a weekend, was the rowdiness and lack of consideration from what seemed to be a number of drunken guests in the early hours of the morning when I had work early the following day.I can see why this kind of budget hotel would be popular with groups of young people needing somewhere affordable to stay. The notices in the rooms and lifts say that rowdy behaviour will not be tolerated, but I didn't hear any attempt to quell the disruption. Maybe with the very low level of staff numbers it's just not practically possible to do.

"Disappointed"

I have always stayed in Salford Etap hotel on any occasion I had to spend in Manchester.On this occasion in Feb 2012 was the first time that I noticed the carpet very dusty around the edge with the walls. The toilet inside was cleaned, but the outside to the floor hadn't been wiped in a while. If you want a sound sleep ask for the 7th floor or room 738.

"Fantastic Service and a great job by staff"

An excellent place to stay. Staff are brilliant to deal with and the service is impressive for a budget hotel. Etap is located is the best place for easy access to the city and a short walk to the Lowry, BBC and Man united.Will recommend the hotel to business customers.

"Just as expected"

Perfectly adequate room for one night; clean, tidy, basic. Just as advertised. Very quiet, which was a great bonus. Close to choice of eating places and easy access to onward travel. Not luxury, but not advertised as such.

"Overnight stay on a budget"

If all you need is a place to lay your head for the night then the Etap is the place to be. Not only is it at a price that won't break the bank but the continental breakfast option is pretty good too with not restrictions on the quantity you can eat. Bargain !

"Cheap and cheerfull"

If you are just wanting somewhere to sleep for very little cost then this is a good choice. There are no real comforts but everything was adequate. The room is sparse and the mattress very hard but it was clean. The breakfast was ok but limited.

I suppose you get what you pay for. basic room with a tv was just about ok, but the room was cold and draughty. Heard lots of noise from the road and from other hotel guests arriving, sprung doors dont help and bang throughout the night, walls are evry thin and the reason for booking a hotel to get some sleep before an early start was negated by the noise.Disappointed not to have anywhere comfy to sit and have a coffee or beer.

The Etap hotel is the worst hotel that I have stayed in.I was booked in for 3 nights and the place was such a nightmare that I did not stay the 3rd night,From late in the evening until 3/4am there was constant loud shouting and screaming,it was impossible to sleep and the room had no house phone to call the reception for any sort of help.Each morning the hallways and staircases were littered with fast food boxes and the floor was littered in chips and bits of chicken in different places.It was that bad of a stay that I left on sunday morning instead of monday,I could'nt wait to get out, I think I am entitled to a refund but you would'nt have the decency to do that.
