Mercure Wellington Willis Street: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Comments"

6th March 2013, taniathomas2804, Canberra, Australia

I believe the hotel is in need of an upgrade. The room was datedI was disappointed with the level of cleanliness of the cups (they were dirty, but put away). The floor had not been properly cleaned prior to our check-in.The fridge/freezer was old, and the freezer compartment in desperate need of a defrost. The window locks were brokenWhen I booked I noted I was travelling with my two children, ages 8 & 14. When I arrived there was only one double bed. Room service was efficient, but I felt that my booking should have been taken into account

Management responseDear taniathomas2804 I am sorry to hear you stay was not as expect, please accept my apology on behalf of the hotel. I have mentioned the booking and the logistic of 3 people staying in a double bed and we are working on ensuring these kinds of things are more accurate in the future.RegardsIan

Mercure Wellington Willis Street: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Basic hotel on busy corner"

3rd March 2013, DavidT03, London, United Kingdom

Having stayed in other Accor hotels in Europe I had certain expectations of a Mercure hotel, the public rooms lived up to that, but the bedrooms are more like an Etap room, ie basic. I chose this hotel because it had free parking and was close to the centre of the city, the parking area is quite small,so you might struggle to park sometimes, however I was able to park OK. The hotel is on a busy corner, so we were aware of traffic noise on the 4th floor during the night. Breakfast was good value for city hotel ($20). Internet was a bit weird, free for a few mb but then I had buy more to finish.

Mercure Wellington Willis Street: 4.0 out of 5 stars "A Comfortable option"

26th February 2013, zaltiva, malvern,victoria

A 3 star hotel close to CBD and relatively quiet compared to most city based hotels.Rooms are c ean and comfortable though the bathroom is tiny with no shelf space for toiletries however biggest issue is no air conditioning though heating is available with a plug in device. Need to open window for air which then leads to traffic noise. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Free parking is a bonus. In house dining was relatively inexpensive. Location is close to main access roads but not noisy and Wellington CBD is a 10-15 minute walk as is entertainment area Cuba St, Courtney Place. For a comfortable hotel with easy access to city highlights but far enough away from traffic is a good option. I always look for a hotel airport side of any city and Mecure Willis St fits the bill

Mercure Wellington Willis Street: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Convenient inner city accomodation."

25th February 2013, retsub58, Timaru, New Zealand

Small room sparsely furnished.Very limited on-site car parking. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. House meals rather expensive but there are numerous restaurants and cafes within walking distance.

Mercure Wellington Willis Street: 2.0 out of 5 stars "No Aircon"

24th February 2013, Warkworth, New Zealand

No Aircon so room was hot only one window open even though there was two windows. the one that did open only open two to three inches.......when open as the hotel is in town the noise was all night long ! Dinner menu was great

Management responseThank you for the review, Wellington has had an unseasonally hot summer this year resulting in our rooms being considerably hotter then usual. I am pleased that you enjoyed the restaurant I will be sure to pass this on to the team.RegardsIan ShipmanGeneral Manager
