"Worst Mattresses Ever"

While the hotel is beautiful there are many areas that require attention. I would strongly suggest that the hotel staff be enrolled in an English class. While there English was passable let me give you an example of what I mean.....I asked the housekeeper if she could make the bed softer, she did not understand me so she called the front desk. The front desk spoke to me and asked me what time should she make the bed softer, I said after 9 am would be fine. When we arrived back to the room that afternoon, and sat on the bed that had put a piece of plywood in the bed. I called the front desk they sent the housekeeper back. It took 5 housekeepers to remove the sheet of plywood (it was VERY heavy). They put extra mattress pads on the mattress but it was still insufficient (we just had to endure). We would NEVER stay back here unless they did something with having a more comfortable mattress. I am not sure that they had a foam mattress because from talking to the front desk, the front desk person indicated they would put a foam mattress in....that did not happen. Additionally, when I called to get a copy of the invoice the front desk asked me if I wanted the bell hop to get our luggage, I said "No, I want a copy of the invoice" they then asked if I wanted a taxi? I repeated "No, I want a copy of the invoice". They asked me to spell it so I did....they then transferred me to another person who spoke better English. When we had breakfast I waited and waited at the pastry chef station for the chef to finally appear to make me a waffle; another customer said to me "Good luck he ( the pastry chef)seems to come and go. He finally appeared and I asked for a waffle. He made the waffle; however, the syrup was almost empty, I asked for more syrup he said "No". When I returned to my table the waitress asked me if I needed anything, I told her more syrup. She returned to tell me that the Pastry Chef told her "No" too. The Pastry Chef, after making my waffle starting replenishing the pancakes in a platter next to where I was trying to get the last drop of syrup out of the container, He kept reaching around me to put the pancakes on the platter versus merely waiting for me to finish getting the last drop of syrup, In doing so, he dropped to pancakes. He came around and picked them up but I am not sure that they did not end up going on the same platter of replenished pancakes. Enrolling employees in an English class should help alot of translation issues.View management response »

"The best choice in Xi An"

The location in the most prestigious spot in downtown Xi-An, The Renmin Square. Convenient to central business area and all attractions. The MTR under contruction also close to the hotel and will be even more accessible to almost everywhere. It's the best located hotel I recommend.View management response »

Room was upgraded which gave me a surprise. People were kind though.The traffic in Xi'an was bad especially in rush our I almost missed my flight. it was not the fault of hotel.the checking out was a bit slow and invoice was not available due to web error.View management response »
