Sofitel Xian On Renmin Square hotel

"Convenient 5* Hotel with Great Value"

I stayed in an executive suite for 3 nights. The room is decent with a roomy guest bathroom. Great for friends gathering. The breakfast is filled with a lot of options, and their chinese restaurant served great food with honest prices, not those charging 20 usd for a veggie in shanghai/beijing. The hotel is right next to the provincial government, and you will never have to wait more than 5 minutes for a cab. There's just plenty of them in the street right in front of the hotel.

"Nice hotel but the toilet bowl blocked"

The hotel overall is very nice. We stayed at the West Wing which appeared not to be as busy as the East Wing, and therefore not staffed as well. The hotel is located in Remin Square which also house the Grand Mercure Hotel and Mercure Hotel, and another one is on the way. So you can imagine this private area is hugh which is good for an exercise walk. The room was big and clean overall but we were unfortunate to encounter a blocked toilet. The service man can very quickly after we called and unblocked the drainage, but on the 3rd day, it got blocked again! The locationis not too bad, it is only about 5-10 min from a main shopping street and about a 15-20 min walk to the Bell Tower and Muslim Quarter. The service was excellent with good English speaking staff.

"Great rooms & excellent facility"

I just love this hotel. This is one of the best stay in my 2012. Hotel got great deco. Room looks very well appointed. staff speaks great English and extremely service-minded.It looks very new. Check-in and out is speedy. Their management team knows what they're doing.Highly recommended for all types of travellers.

"Outstanding value"

The Sofitel was an excellent choice. The staff are friendly, cooperative and genuinely keen to help. Our issue was the lack of Mandarin...getting around XiAn is difficult without a map and little local language skills. Using the hotel for transport assistance was worth the effort.The food, the room and the people made this part of the trip so much more enjoyable. A fine way to finish a business trip.

"Wonderful hotel in Xi'an"

Sofitel is wonderful hotel in Xi'an. There is very interesting architecture style. Sofitel have beautiful courtyard. Sofitel locate in old city. There are 3 working restaurants in hotel: europeane, japanese and brazilian BBQ.

"I love this hotel"

I wish I had booked more nights here! Xian has a lot to see but we were only there for the Terracotta Warriors so only booked the 2 nights. This hotel has it all. The staff were fantastic. The bed was a bit hard but better than all the others that we had in China. I just loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again if I had the chance to go back to Xian.

"Amazing Hotel"

Our stay in Xian was simply the best. The most comfortable beds throughout our stay in China. Room was large and the Locitane products were amazing. A great location and only a short taxi ride from the airport. Everyone a the Sofitel were only too willing to help and could not fault the service. Thanks for a great stay. Even when we were out and about and couldn't communicate with the locals a phone call to the hotel for them to translate was just another great service that they deliver. Would highly recommend for anyone to stay here.

"A REAL Sofitel"

This Hotel is Superb. I will get the negative out of the way first - and in doing so I am being petty. We paid for a room with a panoramic city view because as tourists, this view can allow you to get your bearings in a new city, and for me its like an introduction as it is often the first place you really stop, take a breath and look after dumping your baggage. Well, upon arrival we were upgraded to a prestige suite. With no view. I know how this sounds, but I was a little disappointed since I did pay extra for a view as it is something important to me. I did however get over it. The Prestige Suite was wonderful (aside from the view of an overgrown shrub!). After a week in hotel rooms, it was nice to be able to spread out. It was spacious, clean and packed with little extras to make you feel at home. A choice of silk or towel robes, bath salts, umbrellas, bathroom scales (which is probably not a good idea when you are travelling around China consuming so many dumplings!) and of course the all important Sofitel Bed and Pillows. As a result, of course I did not complain about the upgrade. It was much appreciated.The location is fantastic; right in the centre of the old town. Xi'an is flat, so its an easy walk to the East Gate, Muslim District and the Drum and Bell Tower. I would highly recommend as a tourist staying within, and also exploring the city walls (you can hire a bike on the walls near the East Gate - the view gives you a unique perspective of the city not to be missed).Le Chinois claims to have the best Cantonese Cuisine in Xi'an; while I didn't have any other Cantonese food during my stay I am willing to take their word for it. BBQ pork, sizzling beef, egg soup and the tastiest egg tarts. I won't be forgetting that meal any time soon. Then there is Casablanca - couldn't fault it, if you like Moroccan they do a great job, and Cafe Ren - try the canapé platter. The Buffet Breakfast, was a buffet breakfast. Aside from one confusing episode where a lady from housekeeping - who did not speak a word of English and I do not speak Chinese - burst into our room looking around like she had lost something really important, the service was as expected. Our late checkout was accommodated, taxis and shows organised and the concierge enthusiastic - using any friendly excuse to practise their English. All the staff, right across the hotel were keen, eager and waiting to serve. This hotel was an absolute pleasure. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Xi'an.

A beautiful hotel in Xian, highly reccomended hotel, worth everyone of its 5 stars, gorgeous rooms, lovely food and a soft bed, also this hotel up graded our room as it was my wifes birthday, tremendous and thank you !!
