ibis Townsville hotel

"Our first visit to Townsville"

This was our first visit to Townsville so we didn't have a clue where it was best to stay, we picked the Ibis from the Accor web site and hoped for the best. The postion on Palmer Street turned out to be excellent, a short walk over the Victoria pedestrian bridge leads into centre of Finders Street with all the shops etc. The hotel is really good value for money and the staff are very friendly and helpful. If you visit Townsville do not miss going up Castle Hill the views from the top are superb, it's a tough 5 KM walk up (we got a cab to take us) from the Ibis but an easy walk down. There are toilets and chilled drinking water at the top. I really don't understand why so few hotels offer their guests free WiFi in this day and age and the Ibis is no exception. I would definitely visit Townsville again and stay at the Ibis.

I have stayed at Ibis Townsville before but this time it was a better experience. It is a very quite place to stay. It was in walking distance to the places I wanted to go such as the entertainment centre, the Casino. the centre of the city.The surrounding eateries were abundant and there was variety of styles of food to choose from.Hotel staff were courteous and friendly and help full. Booking on line and payment easy.A very pleasant stay.

"Ibis Hotel"

Staff were friendly, room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom could have been a little bigger - it's a bit crowded with the toilet and shower so close to one another. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Well located in Palmer Street which has a number of restaurants to choose from, rooms basic but clean, staff at both check in and Sugartrain Restaurant were very friendly and helpful, excellent value for money, would stay again

"Great location."

Hotel Ibis is in a great loaction , close to everything . As for the room , having two single beds was ok but the beds are quite small . you can hear all sounds in hallway, but that is normal. But if you do stay make sure you get the breakfast from the sugartrain below,It was a great feed

The location is perfect but that's about it in terms of good. The bed is too hard, the room very basic (even for the price) and it smelled strange, there wasn't any information about the town in the room, we couldnt' adjust the air-conditioner, we had to ask for supplies that should have already been in the bathroom...sorry, we won't be back. We ate in the restaurant downstairs and were underwhelmed there as well. No service, limited menu and the food average.

We have stayed here in the past. It is a convenient spot that is priced to suit our budget. Being a member of the Advantage Plus makes it cost effective for food and accommodation. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hayley on reception has outstanding Customer Service and this can make such a difference to a stay somewhere, so thankyou. The hotel was very clean and modern, Rooms were nice, although the bed move around very easily on the wheels, which can be a bit annoying. However, we always slept well. Thanks
