"Hotel delivering service with a smile from a location beside an MRT station"
17th February 2013, Manila
The hotel is conveniently located beside Exit 1 of the Phra Ram 9 station with the Fortune Town Mall beside it and the Central Plaza Mall right across from it. Fortune Town offers a wide selection of food options and directly below the hotel are a few massage parlors for those looking for affordable and effective massage services. The room was spacious and I could adjust the temperature of the room quickly, the beds just the right level of firmness for me and I didn't really want to leave my room to go elsewhere. The hotel also provides guests with True WiFi access that can be used around Bangkok. All said, if you're one who cares greatly about the fitness facilities of a hotel, you may want to look into getting the hotel to send you photos of the gym, pool and sauna facilities available. I personally chose to jog at a park located three MRT stations away.Overall, it was a comfortable stay at Hotel Grand Mercure Fortune Bangkok.

"Improved facilities appreciated"
14th February 2013, Hanoian_13, Springfield, Oregon, USA
Have stayed here many times...this time Pleasantly surprised with renovation of rooms.. fresh and cheery...but the total renovation still ongoing. Easy place to stay coming in from airport on a straight path...staff always helpful. Bathroom especially improved but had to call someone to help me get hot water. Shower water still ended up on the floor of the room. The shower door does not clear the bathmat so one ends up standing in a puddle of water in the room upon coming out. The price was much higher this time as the exchange baht to dollars is worse than previously....Was upgraded though, based on my Accor membership I believe. On easy Skytrain connections through the underground. Lots of building going on around this site by other developers so is losing its countryside location...but there will be lots of shopping eventually.

Management responseDear Hanoian_13, Thank you for commenting about your stay. In fact, the Baht300 million renovation is approaching it last stage and we are expecting to reopen our lobby, main dining room and lounge within the next 2 weeks. Location between airport and town, underground rail at door and rapid development in the area will definitely bring more attractions to our visitors. We have taken note of spread of shower water on floors which doors will be checked and adjusted. Minor hot water inefficiency occurred earlier when we replaced our water pipes and has been now back to normal. Thanks and hope to welcoming you back soonest. Best regards, Stanley Chan/General Manager

"Great location, average hotel, premium price"
6th September 2012, Dan Y, surabaya
Location is top notch. Sandwiched by two local malls. @MRT Rama 9 station. One station from Makassan station (airport link station) easy access to mrt.The hotel is average in term of model and atm as the 90s hotel. It has no touch of minimalis or new concept of hotel. Just plain clean hotel. Maybe it is a 3-star hotal. The price is pretty premium for its class. I paid about 70usd/nite for superior room compared new hotel room in Sukhumvit, it s pretty premium. I think it s location between 2 malls and right at the big boulevard deters the price.
"Ok hotel w. IT mall in the complex"
1st August 2012, mcollan, Salo, Finland
There were construction workers doing works with drilling etc. Noise during the whole day, no rebate on the price or anything like that. MRT close and from airport easy access, cost 60 baht with train and metro.Breakfast for a westener is non existent. If you like asian then ok. Some fruit and coffee ok. If possible to take room without breakfast for a better price take it, the IT mall has many restaurants and cafes for that at low low prices.
"Poor standards of cleanliness and antiquated television"
18th July 2012, Hyderabad, India
Except that it is well located, they dont seem to be caring about the mosquitoes bugging u at night and the poor response time to housekeeping calls.
"Thai Business Hotel"
5th June 2012, PhuketKenny, Phuket, Thailand
A very large hotel situated on a busy corner of Rama 9 Road. Great for shopping - attached to the Fortune Mall, one of the largest IT Malls in the region, and just over the road from an excellent Central Plaza, packed with shops and food outlets (easilly accessable via an MRT station underpass). Can travel to other parts of Bangkok easily by MRT but don't even think about a taxi - the roads are gridlocked. Not really geared up for the international traveller, seems to be aimed at thai business peole. Lots of construction around and this, together with the busy roads and 24 hour traffic means that a room on a high floor at the back of the hotel is essential. The executive lounge was reasonable but we had to ask for every drink and the food and service was very poor.Unless you need to be in this location then overall for the price charged there are many better hotels in Bangkok.
"Comfortable, helpful pleasant staff, good location for centre BKK,"
1st May 2012, dave1960, northampton
I will start by saying I agree with alot of the post that the hotel is looking tired and needs a huge revamp to bring it to same four star standard as the newer hotles now in Bangkok. However, the wooden floors and the design of rooms for me are great. Stayed in a delux room as was on offer when I booked, however as I am now back at this hotel after being to Loeng Nok Tha in the north east am in a superior room, to be honest there is no great difference. We are having the breakfast this stay and the selection is great, no complaints there at all, all food for the breakfast is very good. The location of the hotel, very close to MRT, 1 min away, and the new shopping mall, just across the road, with banks, and huge cineplex. It is also, good for myself and wife as her friends and children reside in an area very close by.All in all, a very pleasant stay, helpful staff, and clean comfortable rooms. We stayed a total of 17nights, in two, separate periods.

"Poor Quality!"
27th March 2012, Bangkok, Thailand
Terrible service, terrible food, dirty room, old hotel and over priced, they charged me 420 baht just to use internet in room, which also was not wireless.
"Fabulous staying!"
14th February 2012, Hanoi, Vietnam
I usually stay in Grand Mercure Fortune when travelling to BKK. The same exprience with my travel to Melbourne with Mercure Welcome. Great referesher, except check in time with the Grand Mercure Fortune. If only there has been some exceptional treatments to frequent staying visitors, which is quite easy for tracking by Mercure Chain!
"Excellent Service & Convenient Location"
2nd February 2012, Singapore, Singapore
I have stayed at other 4 & 5 star hotels during my previous stays in Bangkok & this is my 1st time booking this hotel & I stayed at the Executive floor . What impressed me most during my recent stay is the top class service provided by the whole team led by Ms. Thunyarat Phaphaeng, Asst Club Floor Manager. Strongly recommend you book a stay especially at the Club floors to experience what I mean. The hotel is very cosy albeit old and the beds are comfortable & the room is adequately furnished. A bonus is the convenience of its location with the Phra Ram 9 MRT station just outside the hotel & the newly opened Central Plaza megamall just opposite which can satisfy most of your shopping needs. With just 2 short stopd, the MRT can take you to the BTS line where you can join to Sukhumvit, Central World, MBK etc.Hotel is also reasonably priced; value for money especially with its many promotions. Highly recommended!
"All in good hands as usual!"
4th September 2011, MikeKYC
For regular stay at this hotel for last few years, it's all in good hands as usual. The location is a bit out from downtown, but, still within convenient distance to major location in the city.Traffic is a bit better and just next to MRT.Nevertheless, I belief some upgrading is due soon.
"Handy location"
1st August 2011, Perth
A moderate hotel in a handy location attached to shopping mall very convenient , also has a basic fitness centre for your daily workout and close to motorway. I found that reception staff could speak a little better english.
"Well..."
2nd July 2011, Speyer
I stayed about 20 times during the last 4 years in this Hotel. But as no renovation is in sight I changed to Novotel Silom or Sofitel Silom. The rooms have seen better times before, be it bathroom or the bed itself. Almost everything needs to be improved quickly. I only use it when for short stays to avoid the pricey Novotel Suvarnabhumi as a taxi does not require more than 20 mins from the airport.
