"Spot on! Ticked all the boxes."
17th May 2012, krugptlucy, Colchester, United Kingdom
Returned to the Saint Omer Etap for a second visit with my wife and 4 year old daughter.Tremendous value, less than 80euros for the three of us b&b.Room is basic but essentially clean, a good hot shower and plenty of parking. My daughter loved the bunk bed.Short walk to town centre or 400m up the road to the Buffalo Grill.Ticked all the boxes for us and we will be returning. Highly recommend this as a value base.

This is a budget hotel and as such is quite adequate. No frills, clean room, comfortable bed, ok shower. Breakfast fine (not exceptional) Walking distance to town centre, staff cheerful and helpful
"Short overnight stay"

We - two parents and one teenager - used this hotel as a stopover in March 2012. We arrived at midnight having travelled from Dover/Calais; we were asleep by 1am and left the next morning at 6.30am (no breakfast) to carry on our journey south. This stopover was perfect for our needs, no frills, clean, quiet, open all night and with space to park (although not in the secure parking because we arrived so late). And superb value at about 38 euros for the 3 of us.One small cristicism: although the double bed was made, we had to make the bunk bed. Not something we really wanted to do at midnight but this as I said, a minor criticism.
"Return stop from Meribel"

Used this as an overnighter back from Meribel.Have used last 4 years always happy with service. I use this as a stopover as I live in Birmingham and rather than do it in one hit we use this as the kids normally have enough of travelling.

"Hotel St Omer"

The hotel at St Omer we have stayed in quiet alot, but this time we did noice that the walls in the bedroom were getting dirty and could do with painting. This hotel is very good other wise. The staff were your helpful. The location of the hotel is good, it is near the shopping centre which is why we stay there.
"Hotel stopover."

We have used this etap hotel at least 2 or 3 times per year over the last five years as we have many other etap hotels in france. Over the last two years there has been a noticable deterioration in both cleanliness of floor carpets, marked walls, fittings and room preperation and lift. The price charged does not reflect the quality and standards normaly found in these hotels and we are very disappointed. Should this have been our first stay in a etap hotel the effect would have put us off etap hotels.

Pleasant room and conveneient for overnight stop. Shower door did not close properly so that if the shower head was misdirected water leaked into the room.Main problem was making the booking as children over 11 count as Adults - I was travelling alone with my two boys aged 10 and 14 - which meant I ended up having to share a bed with my 14yr old son! Another chain which we also used allowed us to opt for 3 beds - even though on one occasion the beds were pushed together - it was separate beds.
"Good for the price"

A clean and quiet place for an overnight stay. Very good location for the few restaurants that are in St omer.Facilities are very basic as you would expect for the price but everything was clean which was our main concern
"OVERNIGHT stay"

Good, clean hotel - rooms have a double bed with single bunk over (large enough for large teenager or adult!). An option for single beds would have been better for my 2 teenagers.... but you do get a private wash-basin, toilet and shower and a TV with 2 engish channels!! We payed 39 euros per room booked over the internet and it is excpetional value for that. There is breakfast available at 4.90 euros - continental style buffet - but a reasonale selection of cereals, breads, toast, yogurt, cheese, fruit etc and as much as you wanted, so again worth having before a long journey. We stayed en route to southern France - it is about 40 minutes from Dunkirk so well placed, just a few minutes off the main route. You also get a 15% discount off a meal at the IBIS in St Omer - which we did, and again nice meal, good value. Overall we would certainly stay here again as a one-night stop off!
"Perfect for an overnight stay"

We stayed here after and before using Le Shuttle. Its fine for what you pay. Clean, comfortable beds, walking distance from St Omar town centre and a continental breakfast. Weather forecast in the lobby is a nice touch. You probably wouldn't want to base yourself there for much longer than a night or two but as a bed for a night it's ok.
