Mercure Dunedin: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Average stay"

12th February 2013, ED-TRON, Hamilton, New Zealand

Good location for City Centre, but room slightly tired, damaged fabric on seat in room and uneven floor, tap in sink in room needed to be fixed.Room next to lift so had noise throughout night.Had evening meal, food good, but only one member of staff on duty who had to rush to serve everyone.Parking limited, had to park on street, but free parking if you arrive after 6pm until 9am on weekdays.Limited facilities at hotel, would probably stay elsewhere when visiting Dunedin again

Mercure Dunedin: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Meh."

7th February 2013, bisscuitt, Sydney, Australia

Perfectly typical. Nothing special about this hotel. I mean.. it looks like a fantastic elegant victorian building on the outside, but inside feels like any other sterile hotel chain.I'm sure you'll have a perfectly reasonable stay here.

Mercure Dunedin: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Dunedin review"

29th January 2013, Auckland, New Zealand

A nice boutique hotel. Well situated being close to the central city.Staff are very attentive and couldn't do enough to assist with sightseeing bookings, etc.Only downfall was the breakfast - Buffet breakfast was poor but we had A la Carte the second morning and this was excellent.

Management responseThank your for your review of your recent stay at Mercure Dunedin. I am glad that you enjoyed our heritage hotel and that the staff were able to assist you with planning excursions in and around the city. It is good to know that the a la carte breakfast was to your liking although you were unfortunately disappointed with the buffet option. We find that we have guests opting for both options depending on how much time they have and how hungry they are! Many thanks once again. Kind Regards, Sally O'Connor, Hotel Manager

Mercure Dunedin: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great location and excellent staff"

22nd January 2013, Christchurch, New Zealand

Always a great place to stay when in Dunedin, combining the history of hotel and the modern comforts and services. The restaurant is a good option for dinner however the only let down recently has been breakfast which is now a buffet style - the Hashbrowns can be a bit soggy and the poached eggs seem like they have been out for a while.

Management responseThank you for your review of your experiences at Mercure Dunedin, it is great to hear that you enjoy staying with us when you are in town. With regard to our breakfast options, we have been offering an a la carte menu alongside the buffet since the end of last year, so that our guests can opt for whichever style of dining they prefer in the mornings. I do hope that you are able to come back again soon and sample the a la carte breakfast dishes which are freshly cooked to order. Kind Regards, Sally O'Connor, Hotel Manager
