I was not satisfied because the bathroom was not meeting IBIS quality standards. First, there was mould in the shower, which is bad for my health. Second, it has to be repainted. Then, there were cobwebs on the ceiling. Given the price of the room, I think the bathroom should be healthy.

Stayed overnight en route to the Loire valley with my wife. The hotel is very well located with secure and cheap parking. The rooms are comfortable and the whole hotel is clean. The staff were friendly and helpful as ever.

When staying at an Ibis, generally I know I’m getting what I pay for (sub-par amenities, terrible pillows, etc.), but now housekeeping is apparently ignoring the privacy signs? Went on a day trip one of the days of my stay and left the do not disturb sign out because I didn’t need any service and was running a file upload from my laptop while I was out. Got back to my room that night and not only found the sign removed and service done, but they also took the extra key that I had been using to keep the electricity running in the room and my laptop dead. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things (the upload was not mission critical, just backing some stuff up to the cloud that I’d been meaning to do for a while), but it felt like a bit of an invasion.

Chosen for its central location and secure parking. It was easy to get to and the undergoround parking was excellent. The hotel is linked to the Mecure and there is clearly some major refurbishment going on, but the Ibis part was quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a little less sharp that I have expected from Ibis, especially the carpet but it was clean and functional with a view of the river. We hoped to wander up to the cathedral to find a restaurant for diner but the weather was against us and we settled for the elegant St Marc Square, 5 mins walk from the hotel, which offered a choice of eateries and bars. Breakfast was fresh and offered a good buffet choice. It was our first visit as a stop off from the ferry port at Dieppe on our way south and we will definitely be back again.
