ibis Rotorua: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Ibis Rotorua"

18th May 2012, TBDIST, Tauranga, New Zealand

The service was great...friendly and informative. The only down side would be Room size but this is reflected in price. If you dont intend to spend a lot of time in the room this place is the best value for money but if you want to relax and "kick back" more in the hotel this is not for you.

The room looked tired. Needs attention in the bathroom. Annoyed we were put into a back facing room. If you want us to stay more often in Accor hotels you need to have a better policy for room placement. We were put in a back room in Novotel and now in Ibis. Third time may be our last. I thought membership meant more than that.

ibis Rotorua: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great Special Deal"

15th May 2012, muzzanz1, Auckland, NZ

This trip was a spur of the moment trip due to a great deal. Our second stay to Ibis was a good as the first. Was given a free upgrade ovelooking the lake which was a great surprise.Wish we could have stayed longer and would have loved to, but had to return to work. Will definitely return again as location and rate is great.Room was tidy with all you need.

Found the meal we had left a bit to be desired for what it cost. The waiter was also a bit hard to understand as he spoke very softly.

ibis Rotorua: 5.0 out of 5 stars "family holiday"

30th April 2012, paulaPerth_Australia, Perth, Australia

Friendly service staff were polite , the rooms were neat and tidy the hotel is close to town and very children friendly. We had a issue with our room reported it to reception and it was fixed straight away. They had a area were you could get information on the town and surrounding area's there were very helpful. They have a computer area so you can get in contact with your family and friends this is fantastic there is also internet access in your room as well.

ibis Rotorua: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Value for money"

Good central location, easy walk to restaurants, lake and pools. Friendly service, good clean room and room service. As a couple having just one king size bed instead of 2 double beds, would give a little more space in the room.

Stay was enjoyable, rooms need a refresh especially carpet.Old style TV's with not the best signal or choice for these days.Otherwise okay.

I was very disappointed with the hotel in general. Very cheap I thought. I am used to hotels through business and travel here in Auckland and internationally and felt this was a poor imitation which is extremely sad considering what city it is based in and the calibre of people you would have through your hotel. The bathroom terrible the shower nozzle wasnt even removable bedrooms unbelievably small and the staff seeing the size of my husband and 2 sons didnt even suggest a bigger room. Just not up the standards I assume staying in hotels.Kindest regardsBron

ibis Rotorua: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great service"

16th April 2012, Wellington

We stayed at the Ibis Rotorua over the Easter break. The first impression was the service - we were initially given a room with one double bed after booking a room with two beds. This was quickly rectified with no fuss and in record time. When we decided to extend our stay by another night, our request was met with the same smiling, "no worries" service. This set the tone for us - to be honest because the room rate was so reasonable, our expectations weren't high prior to our stay. The service was family friendly, client focused and very efficient and for us made all the difference. The room was small (as they all are in the Ibis) but everything we required was there and with a couple of kids in tow, we spent most of our time taking in the delights of "Vegas" anyway. Ka pai and congratulations and keep it up to the staff of Ibis Rotorua.

ibis Rotorua: 3.0 out of 5 stars "ibis rotorua"

10th April 2012, Hamilton, New Zealand

Hotel is tired and needs some attention generally. Is the worst signposting I have seen in accommodation venues, which surprised me given it is in Rotorua - there are less likely tourist destinations that I have seen far better signage.

ibis Rotorua: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Review of recent stay at Ibis Rotorua"

10th April 2012, Hamilton, New Zealand

Overall it was a good stay - maybe a little better than the average rating - not sure it was very good!No batteries in the remote - silly little thing but when you changed channel using the tv it went off tv and onto something else Service was ok without being exceptional - my gym card didn't work and I had to have it changed - they wouldn't bring trim milk to my room I had to go and get it - again nothing major but means only an ok rating value was excellent but only because I got an extra discount due to the Accor membership - $81 per night you can not complain about that - the internet charge $15 for two hours on the other hand is something you can complain about - very expensive

ibis Rotorua: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent"

9th April 2012, Auckland Central, New Zealand

The Ibis Hotel in Rotorua is always a convenient, good location, clean and good service. I have in stayiing mostly at Ibis Hotels like the one in Christchurch and also the Ibis Hotel in Lima-Peru ( I believe the Ibis Lima-Peru is best so far0

friendly & hospitable. food great enjoyed the alternative menu although it should have been offered in a better format than a ripped page. Did appreciate though. Larger tv in room would be nice.

ibis Rotorua: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great place to stay!"

29th March 2012, JellyNZ, Christchurch NZ

We thoroughly enjoyed this Hotel, the warm welcome at Reception, the cleanliness of the room, the fabulous Lake view from that room, and a wonderful Dinner in the Restaurant. The only minus is the charge for Wifi, as more and more Hotels, do not chharge for this service.

ibis Rotorua: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Family Holiday after business trip"

29th March 2012, Auckland, New Zealand

Got a phone call day of reservation that hotel was not avaliable, was told that we were transfered to the Ibis Rotorua. Please take note that the Ibis is not the same and is actually in a bad way, with worn carpet, terriable shower. We found nail clippings on the floor so we know it hadn't been cleaned. This review is on the Ibis not the All seasons as I didn't get the chance to stay. I will do next time though. Staff at front counter of Ibis were very accomadating.

Service was good but room size and bed were not good. Do not suggest to friends. Car parking was good. Internet speed was very slow.

ibis Rotorua: 4.0 out of 5 stars "tennis weekend stopover"

24th March 2012, morrinsville nz

great stay in Rotorua, lovely lake view room, friendly, helpful staff and overall a great stop. Took our granddaughter with us, and she loved it too, We went up the gondola, and would recommend that excursion to all, also Paradise Valley and Rainbow Springs. Great shopping, lovely city to stay in (except for the smell :) )

ibis Rotorua: 3.0 out of 5 stars "checkin and viewa"

23rd March 2012, Belmont, Australia

we had paid for a lake view expecting to have a close view of said lake, not a very small window with a view so far away it wasn't funny. not worth paying extra for. when we booked in the person behind the counter had not looked at our reservation or maybe it was whoever allocated the room but we got to the room to find it was a city view and had a mad dash back to checkin counter to have it rectified as we had a bus picking us up in about 10 minutes, only to be totally dissappointed at the overcrowded tiny room with no real view/ .will not be recommending it to anyone.

ibis Rotorua: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Overnight in Rotorua"

A friendly welcoming hotel. Excellent position with good facilities. Buffet breakfast good value and nicely presented. Helpful staff, comfortable beds, adequate rooms for overnight stays.

ibis Rotorua: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great value & location"

16th March 2012, travelloverover50, Brisbane

We chose superior lake view room & it was more than adequate size even with the 2 beds. They had one king bed(2 beds put together) and a single bed in room.Check in & check out great.Quick & efficient Room clean.Only negative would be the in room safe was missing.Wires still there but safe gone. Used the restaurant next door at Novotel for breakfast & dinner.Meals not what they use to be.breakfast nice but deserts at Dinner all melting and meal disappointing.Ibis well worth staying .Value for money, clean & great location.

ibis Rotorua: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Could do better"

15th March 2012, Thames, New Zealand

The service at breakfast was pretty poor. Tables were slow to be cleared & not wiped afterwards, even though the breakfast bar was busy with a tour bus group eating quickly before departing. The staff seemed to be too busy at the reception desk to wait at tables, especially the male staff members. The cook tipped fresh food into dishes in the bane-marie which seemed a bit sloppy- I would have thought she would have taken the empty or low away to the kitchen to replenish.
