Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Well appointed Hotel"

2nd March 2013, MarkCite, Canberra, Australia

The hotel was well appointed the staff friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was fantastic and convenient for everything in Queenstown. The rooms were quiet even though the final night of my stay in Queenstown coincided with a busy and quite rowdy night. My only criticism was that I found the beds a bit soft for my liking. This is probably because I have never favoured the pillow-top style of bed.

Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Feedback"

28th February 2013, Maca065, Tauranga, New Zealand

The one thing that let us down was a couple of service issues. We came to Queenstown for a concert, when I first made the booking I was informed by the front desk that bus transport would be available to the concert and this could be arranged when we arrived. When we did arrive the transport was fully booked. Although I understand that availability is out of the controll of your staff it would have been usefull to have been advised to book in advance and not leave it until our arrival.I made a booking for a Spa treatment for my wife the week before we arrived, I made the booking with a gentleman at the front desk, he took the booking as the spa was not available on the phone. When my wife arrived at the spa she was informaed there was no booking, the staff member at the spa did offer to do the treatment but her attitude was that it was an inconvenience for her and this did not present a helpfull relaxing environment that would be expected of this environment. My wife was very upset with being let down by this service so she was not interested in making a booking.

Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Stay"

28th February 2013, FinnCameron01, Christchurch, New Zealand

We flew in, dropped our bags early and returned early evening. We were checked in, bags in our room, lovely nibbles on a plate supplied and nothing was to much trouble for the staff.Certainly stay here again and would recommend it to other travellers if you want luxury accommodation.

Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Luxurious Hotel"

20th February 2013, aiemiti, Timaru, New Zealand

Small but luxurious hotel. Impressive room, especially the bathroom, where I can watch TV while soaking at the spa bath tub. Comfortable bed. Luxurious ammenities. Very handy location. The only regret : there is no view of beautiful Queenstown from our room.

Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Nice!"

19th February 2013, Stephanie G, Vienna, Wien, Austria

Loved the tv above the bath tub. Staff was excellent. This is exactly why I stay at sofitels. Love this brand. They brought me a piece of cake for my birthday and ice packs when I over did it on a hike. Excellence.

Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Expectations unmet"

6th February 2013, Debra R

We selected this hotel for two reasons, it came highly recommended by family and we had signed up membership of Le Club during our stay at the sister hotel (Novtotel Lakeside) in December 2012. My expectations were high and I was sadly disappointed - Our room was at the back of the hotel, facing a footpath and the tyres of the cars parked on the road. There were a few stains on the carpet. We purchased the breakfast on the first morning only, lots of choice but the plates for the hot food were cold which is disappointing for a top rated hotel. We had a night cap in the cocktail bar/lounge, it was double the price of the same drink in a bar in town. The bar was empty, possibly a reflection on the prices. We booked a superior room through the stay for 3 pay for 2 deal, full amount payable in advance, in the event of early departure the full price will be charged. As I said the hotel came highly recommended so maybe it was the 'deal' room that we were allocated.
