A very comfortable and clean room. The Hotel is located in a prime location with easy access to transport and local attractions. Your Staff were very friendly and provided good advice about local sight seeing.
"Great location for business and pleasure"

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean room and reasonably priced too. In room wifi and an iPod dock made working in the room bearable.Easy to walk to the convention centre and local bars and restaurants.Hertz office on site.Didn't visit bar or restaurant so can't comment.
"A very enjoyable stay"

We found the Mercure Grosvenor hotel surprisingly quiet and very comfortable for our 4 day stay . It's handy to the university , town hall and shops in Rundle Mall . We really enjoyed the restaurant cooking and service too.
"Good location shame about the hotel"
21st September 2013, Cartravellers, Melbourne, Australia
Exterior of hotel looked promising but after 2 day stay, left hotel feeling it was shabby. Difficult to create any atmosphere with limited seating in small lobby area. Bar is down 1 level with part of ceiling open resulting in noise drifting up to restaurant above. Food in restaurant adequate but buffet breakfast unappetitising. Our room on 5th fl shabby with dirty windows overlooking carpark in side lane. Air in room extremely stale with aircon noisy and when complained had fan delivered to room. Only basic TV viewing with difficulty in turning TV off. Bathroom had good update. Staff unable to give us better room but had carparking & breakfast complimentary.

Room was simple but comfortable, unfortunately also smelt of stale cigarettes. The location was brilliant, close to transport, sights and shopping. Overall very pleased with the deal we got, not sure if we would pay the normal rack rate though.
"A disappointing hotel"
18th September 2013, 2013UKTraveller2013, Sydney, Australia
We had high hopes of this hotel, and the location was good. The room was disappointing with no external windows, and an inoperative safe. The management offered to move us to a room with a working safe, but by then we had unpacked and did not want the hassle. The room was cold and on asking how to work the heating we were told that it was only in cooling mode and were given a barely adequate small electric heater. The carpet in the room was dirty. One member of reception staff was excellent, but the restaurant was overcrowded at breakfast, and when we went for a bar snack we were taken to a table but when nobody had come to take an order after 15 minutes we left. The internet access facilities were primitive , slow and expensive apart from a free 30 mins in the lobby which was very slow.
"Dont do it"

on Check was advised that the Hotel was fully booked and although a Platinum member of the Accor Group they were unable to provide me with an upgrade.Enter the room that is slightly larger than the bed to be greeted by the heavily stained carpets. the small shower /bathroom also was in dire need of refurbishment as tiles were in poor condition. The was infested by flying creatures of some description so I went to reception and requested someone spray the room while I went for a walk. I returned 2 hours later to find the Bathroom covered in dead bugs and the bedroom still with creatures flying about.Contacted reception whom promptly offered to change rooms ( after being told that the Hotel was fully booked) seems someone was telling porkies.after a week I also received a bill for the mini bar which turned out to be wrongly charged to my account. In short if someone asked me would I recommend the Hotel?I think the answer would be a blunt and qualified.... NO
"Good couple of days"

Booked into budget, everything was clean, comfortable with all we wanted. The ensuite was a little small with only frosted glass doors but it was recently renovated & was clean. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

It was a short trip of about one week, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. No complaints. The location of the hotel was excellent as well... allowing me easy access to the city centre, malls, the Festival Theatre and North Terrace - which provided me with some wonderful walks. I would stay there again.

"Overnight stay -"
19th August 2013, thaapartments
Just an overnight stay prior to heading down to Mannum to take out a house boat on the Murray. Perfect for what we needed. They were kind enough to offer a late check out. Breakfast was on the expensive side though!View management response »

Even though service was good in restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and the staff were friendly, no-one responded to my request for a face washer after asking for one a few times. Apparently they are not supplied any more at this hotel. What a simple thing to supply to make a guest happy, the longing of a lovely warm face washer at the end of the day !!! Also the airconditioning was actually heating, and it was impossible to open the window for fresh air as these were sealed to prevent opening, and there were no balcony. I couldn't wait to leave this hotel it made me feel chlaustrophobic.
"A disapointing experience"
14th August 2013, PearlyOz, Oz
As a member of Accor I used my free night to stay at the Mercure Grosvenor in Adelaide. We found the rooms to be drab, dark with lots of marks to the carpets and furnishings. The sheets were extremely rough. We asked to be moved from the first room as it was so drab and dirty. I wouldn't recommend a stay here if you are looking to impress your partner or if aesthetics is important to you.View management response »

"A great stay in Adelaide on a budget"
13th August 2013, Jclymt
The deals that are available with this hotel are truly incredible at times. I have now booked this hotel for myself and colleagues numerous times in the last month. It is an old hotel with beautiful high ceilings in the rooms. I have stayed in the budget section which is comfortable and in the newly refurbished superior rooms on the outer section of the building. These superior rooms for business are perfect. Great bed, great little bathrooms with very modern fittings and a superb flat screen television. The bed heads are also very impressive. My only negatives would be the noise from the corridors. Perhaps the doors aren't thick enough or don't seal properly to the room. The other is the Internet provider. Very poor. But this is common across all the hotels in Accor using this web browser. Accor has said that this will be improved in the near future. Can definitely recommend this hotel.View management response »

My husband found this to be a great hotel to come and go from with his many business committments. Service was excellent and he has no complaints. Breakfast was a great start to the day, the bed was comfortable and, most importantly, good pillows! Cleanliness was to a good standard.View management response »
