"Mercure Grosvenor Adelaide"

While the room was very tiny it was well kept & adequate for our needs. Very centrally located, staff very pleasant & helpful. I would certainly stay there again.

Aircon not functioning as it should meant room was quite cold. Lower level room and on lane side meant noise level was high. All else was quite satisfactory and presented good value for money.
"comfy stay"

after the negative reviews that I read, I was pleasantly surprised by the good service and comfort that was provided which I thought reflected the price I paid for the stay which was very affordable. Just was a bit confused with the dining voucher that was provided

I stay in hotels approx 50 room nights a year, the Mecure Grosvenor in Adelaide is Spacious, great location and had great facilities. (Rooms were nice and big where you did not feel that you are in a chicken pen.I will be back, staff were curtious and polite and were always around to assist
"A great place to stay in Adelaide"

The Mecure Grosvenor caters for all budgets. It is located directly opposite a tram stop and the railway station and is close to all major Adelaide business and tourist sites. Great place to stay.

"Needs upgrading"

Room and hotel average, very average. Room small but comfortable. TV small and only analogue channels - really guys it's 2012, even your sister hotel the Formule 1 has digital TV channels.Bathroom very small and very average. Uncleaned shower floor.Speaking of 2012, internet access is a service like electricity, water and pay TV. Just as guests don't use the hotel phone anymore because we have mobiles and hotels try to fleece their guests, so we just bypass it and you make zero. So it is with internet access, which unlike phone charges, cost the hotel next thing to nothing. We bypass your internet access with our 3G phones for the same reason and you make nothing. Internet access is a hotel service and at best you may get away with charging a couple of dollars per day but $5 per hour is insulting. One last thing, you don't charge for the electricity I use, nor the staff who I engage, nor the water I use, so why, oh why, do you insist on charging me a surcharge when I want to pay you. Merchant fees are a cost of business, annoy guests who, like me will now find another hotel, and make your staff miserable having to argue this point with guest after guest. It's penny-pinching and inhospitable. Stop it!

"Night away"
26th April 2012, cbigg, Adelaide, Australia
I found the bathroom had a lot of mould on tiles and the bathroom had a smell all the time. The room was a good size. Bed good. Breakfast very nice. Service good. I would update the room next time as we had no windows and I found it closed in.
"Poor, Poor, Poor"
25th April 2012, Jim234, Melbourne, Australia
Very poor hotel. Expensive broadband. Rude staff. Room layout such that internet cable is by bed rather than at your desk. Bottled beer in mini-bar, but not bottle opener. Room service food bellow par. Would not come back for a second stay.

"My Mercure Grosvenor Adelaide Review"

Rooms are relatively small and restaurant is small for the number of rooms, but overall experience was good. Good location for business and touring. Would stay there again.
"Adelaide holiday"
22nd April 2012, Akhtar777
I stayed at the Mercure Grosvenor on two occasions, the first on 17 April for 1 night enroute to the Kangaroo Island and then again from 19 to 21st April for 2 nights. The first time I was given a room with required a long walk from the elevator and had the tiniest bathroom imaginable. I made a request to be given a better room on my next stay. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I was upgraded to a suite right next to the elevator when I returned on the 19th...the bathroom was luxurious with a shower and a jaccuzi! The location of the hotel is outstanding, right next to the railway station, the CBD, and almost next door to all the sights of Adelaide. I would highly recommend this hotel.
"First visit to this hotel"

Will not stay in a standard room at this hotel again only 2 star qualityThe staff were very helpful and transferred my wife and I to a deluxe room which we felt was better and of 3 Star standard Vehicle parking was very difficultStaff were very good overall and were the redeeming factor during our stay at the hotel
"Economy room."
18th April 2012, JenB2012, Adelaide, Australia
Room was good value for money, clean with nice furnishing and a comfortable bed. Room and bathroom was very compact, however we were made aware of the room size when making booking. Happy with the service and facilities, would stay at Grosvenor Adelaide again.
"My football trip to Adelaide"
14th April 2012, cristinaceddia, Melbourne, Australia
This hotel was every thing I expect given the price point if I had of paid more for the stay I would have been extremely disappointed. I was told there was a swimming pool there so I packed and planned this to be a major past of my stay. If I go to Adelaide again I will look for accommodation with a pool. I would only recommend this hotel for budget stays I do a lot of travel arranging for Legacy & book hotels Australia wide & will be booking in Adelaide in the near future.
"Great stay"
13th April 2012, carlijnv, Perth, Australia
We had a great stay at the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel. It is good value for money, it was clean and the bed was supurb. I didn't have a bed side table, the rooms weren't big enough, but for the money we paid we couldn't grumble. The breakfast each morning was great; good food, great variety and good service by the young staff. My only gripe about the hotel was at the time of our arrival; I remember vividly being so happy to have arrived and to start our Adelaide adventure. Even though I greeted the receptionist with the biggest smile possible and a genuine Hello, we were met by a stony-faced Paul, who, though helpful enough, couldn't crack a smile if he tried. In my book this is a definite no-no and his attitude needs to be addressed. I saw other staff manning the reception who were friendly and enjoying a banter with the guests, but Paul wasn't interested.Would we go back? On the whole and for value for money, probably yes, but a simple genuine smile would have changed this into a definitive.Carla and Alan
"Just my opinion"
13th April 2012, fuyuko_12, Horsham, Australia
service is excellent. each day we back from leisure room is clean. Good large size room for for of us. This hotel located excelent everything near by central of Adelaide. Best thing of stay here is comfortable bed, back to room make us welcome so we want stay more. Least thing is car parking was poor. my car is 4wd so it impossible to park I took so long until one of 4wd left then I quickly took the spot. At the time I thought if I know this terrable car park I didnt book here. But no car owner or small car owner is no problem for this.

Management responseThank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide. Our team took great pride in reading your comments regarding the quality of the service they provided you during your stay. Also I could not agree more about the central and convenient location of Mercure Grosvenor, Adelaide Convention centre, Sky City Casino, and the Tram to Glenelg are right across the road, we are also a short walk to the historic Adelaide oval and Rundle street Mall.I acknowledge the hotel carpark can be a challenge to maneuver around with larger cars, unfortunately when the hotel was build 92 years ago car parking was not taken into account. However having the convenience of been able to park directly under the hotel we believe does somewhat make up for the challenges.Thank you for your kind comments and feedback, we hope to welcome you back to the hotel again in the near future.

Hi, I stayed here for 3 days. I had a two queen bedroom. The room was quite average and the aircon was really loud. The windows were locked and there was no view. Cheers,
