Every time we travel overseas we stay at this Hotel it is so close to the airport Wolli Creek rail station just a short walk away

The staff at checkin were very polite and efficient, the young gentleman. I am an accor advantage member and chose to use my free night option on this trip, the ypung gentleman processing my ceck in gave me a free upgrade, which was a bonus.The room was clean and spacious, away from the lifts as I had requested so very little noise, very peaceful sleep.dinner in the restaurant was pleasant, the service good and the meals tasty and well presented.next morning one of the girls at reception printed out the train timetable for me which was a great help, I was able to catch the right train to Wooloongong on time, no stress!
"Home ward bound"

Booked online from China for an unexpected overnight stay due to poor domestic return flight options. Service outstanding: requested an early arrival time of 9.00am, not only was this request accommodated but we were also upgraded to a great room with a fabulous view of the airport and park lands. All staff interactions were warm and professional and they organised bus transport to the airport the next morning, pity I left the son's duty free bourbon on the bus but that's another story.

We only stayed one night but it was enough to show that this is an excellent place to stay en route. Close to International Airport but not noisy. Well-insulated. Bed very comfortable - we had a superior queen room. Food and service in the restaurant was a pleasant surprise - delicious food, attentive, friendly service.

We needed to stay in Sydney for our onward flight to Darwin. Yje hotel is easy to access, via either shuttle bus or taxi. The room and bathroom was clean and reception welcoming.We had a meal in the bar which was good. David, the barman was very busy working on his own but still managed to be quick to serve you with a smile. A definite asset to the hotel.We are in fact returning again today for one night as we were so pleased with our first stay.I would recommend to family and friends

i have stayed here twice now with mum due to the close proximity to the airport. The service a great! The food is fantastic! General maintenance needs reviewing on a more regular basis. There were some power points not working in our room, one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom itself! Neither mum nor I slept well but this was probably due to nerves of traveling! I would however highly recommend this hotel if needing somewhere to stay overnight prior to leaving to go overseas or domestically. My only other concern is that there is no transport from Wolli Creek station to the motel for those who wish to stay closer to the airport and use public transport to get to the hotel!

After a great stay in the Auckland Novotel we decided to try the Mercure in Sydney as nearby airport hotel. Hotel entrance was fine, looked newish and typical of airport hotels. Room was shocking. We smelt it before we opened the door and it only got worse. Damp and mould was seeping through the walls and ceiling and even the bedding stank. it was for one night only and my partner did not want to make a fuss as we were tired and had an early rise the following morning. No Shower pressure either. I wrote to management and they told me they would send the issues to the relevant people to sort out and thanked me for letting them know. I did mention that the smell was unmistakable so management would already be aware. Airport shuttle costs not listed and we felt there were overpriced.
"A good start to our holiday"

We enjoyed friendly, efficient and very personal service at the Mercure Sydney Airport. Dinner was a highlight, with the staff's service exceeding the levels of other Mercure hotels. As we had a 6am flight it was good to have a good night's sleep and be 5 minutes from the airport.

"Close to airport"

"Rip off!!!!!!"

To whom it may concern, the stay was cancelled due to a complication re a work scheduling conflict. We were going to fly a businessman in from South East Asia. It is obvious to all that the room wasn't cancelled! However I did cancel the room!!!!!!!Furthermore we never got a refund because it was prepaid due to the usual deal that most hotels provide $10-$20 cheaper per night BUT no refund on cancellation. I still think its a rip off to take approx $850 when it was cancelled in a timely manner. Thanks for nothing.

A great night stay with wonderful facilities and room. Great breakfast. Terrific bar. Excellent location if you want to stay very close to the airport but with no noticeable aircraft noise.

"Great spot for a late or early flight"

This is a lovely hotel to stay in. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Even though it is next to a busy road and airport, there was no problem with noise. The towels were generous, the beds comfortable, and the reception friendly. The down side is the cost for internet and wifi and the breakfast. The breakfast staff were sullen and the food was being packed up 10 minutes before closing time. With a generous checkout of 11am, packing breakfast up early was simply unnecessary, particularly when it was so expensive. It is an easy commute to the airport and so was good for our late arrival back to Sydney from Europe. There is a shuttle at a cost per person, but with 3 people in my party, it was cheaper to get a taxi.

"Now it's refurbished, it's very good."

Previously stayed here before refurbishing - and said I would never stay again. However, heard refurbishing had commenced so gave it another try - making sure I got one of the rooms that had been refurbished. Extremely good and well satisfied. Great hotel for early morning international (and domestic) departures, or, as we did, breaking our trip from the US back tp Perth. Staff are very nice - the guy/bartender in the bar is a hoot !!! Will always use again for such trips across/from the Pacific.Tips - only one - make sure you get a refurbished room

"dissappointing"

Very tired when we got to sydney and contacted the hotel 3 times to find out about the shuttle. first time fine then second gave incorrect time and third unhelpful. Finally got there and no one had mentioned smart card at checkin so could not get even a drink of water, meal finally arrived and the kids meal pizza had pineapple although not mentioned on the menu, drink was incorrect and instead of a choc sundae we got watermelon sorbet I should have let my child out to sort it out!!!!!

"OK as a last resort"

I stayed one night at Accor Mecure Wolli Creek, near Sydney Airport, while attending a conference in Redfern. Service when I checked in was very professional, and the hotel interior was what you would expect for 3 stars ... not luxurious, but OK. The room was nice enough, although some maintenance was clearly required - wall paper was bubbling away from the wall, some lights were not working, and the bathroom was missing a couple of small fittings.I was starving and unfortunately I did not know the local area at all, so my eating choices were confined to the hotel restaurant on the ground floor. I thought the prices in the restaurant were extraordinarily expensive. I ended up choosing the buffet, which was $35 .... that is alot of money for a buffet. The food was good but somewhat limited in healthy eating options. I ended up having a plate of vegies, followed by salad with some lean curried chicken. At $35 that's a very expensive meal.I slept well and was up early for the buffet breakfast. Once again, it was difficult to find healthy options for breakfast. No low fat yoghurt and no multigrain bread. The cereals available were generally not the healthiest options either. As usual there were plenty of popular unhealthy options - e.g. bacon, sausages, coco pops, etc.My feedback to the hotel would be as follows: - your staff are doing a very good, professional job - the location of the hotel is not great for visitors to Sydney. It is close to the airport but not convenient to the Sydney CBD - the room I stayed in (402) needs maintenance, and for the standards was about $100 overpriced - your restaurant does not represent good value for money - get your buffet dinner down around the $20 mark, and your breakfast down around $15-20. - you need to consider the needs of people who want to eat healthy, simple food - a greater range of healthy salads, vegetable, steamed fish would be good, as well as healthy breakfast options - multigrain bread, poached eggs, low fat yoghurt, cereals such as Goodness Superfoods.To summarise, I felt the staff were pretty good and the room was "ok", but the eating experience ~really~ ruined it for me. Overall this hotel left a little bit to be desired, and I will be looking elsewhere for a better experience next time I'm staying in the same area.

"Ideal non CBD location"

I have stayed at the Mecure Airport a couple of times before and have always found its location ideal for me as my company is based in Marrickville and because of the easy access to the M5 etc. The rooms are clean and tidy ( noticably the room i had had been recently refurbished) and the rest of the Hotel comfortable and accomodating. Food in the main restaurant was excellent. A view shared by 5 of my work collegues whom i invited to dinner. I also ate in the bar on the final night and had a beef vindaloo that was as good as i have had anywhere in recent times. My hint is to eat in the bar if its a home style dinner ,drinks and the TV experience you are after. The only negative i had was that the carpark flooded during the terrential rains Sydney had while i was there and it did not want to drain away. This left my car in a pool of water 80mm deep which not even the best tippy toeing effort can survive. If you have an Accor privlidge card take advantage of the restaurant dining and book ahead for great member rates. i got $138 per night for a great room which i think is a bargain for the location.

We dined with friends the evening before we flew from Sydney to LAX. It was a pleasant experience with a good wine selection and a varied buffet. We recommend the lamb at the buffet. The soup also was excellent.

"Vehicle access the only problem"

"Ideal for an early flight"

As we had an early flight overseas we opted to stay the night before flying out at your hotel. It was a wise decission as we had a good nights sleep after an excellent dinner and boarded our plane refreshedand ready for the long flight ahead of us.

The service was much better than my stay there in June 2010. However, I had to teach the bartender how to make a martini. He was clueless. The gym needs to be cleaned and some of the equipment oiled and fixed. It was quite musty up there. Other than that, my stay was good. I really like the location to the airport.
