Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Pre-Christmas break"

27th December 2012, TonyJK_12, London, United Kingdom

I took a four day pre-Christmas break in Barcelona and stayed at this Novotel. My room was large and modern. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. I avoided the full buffet breakfast, opting instead for the smaller City Breakfast in the Lobby Bar. The hotel is close to Glories metro station which I used to get to other parts of the city. The Auditorium is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel so I went to a concert there. TonyK

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Magnificent hotel"

23rd December 2012, Shimon S, ZIKHRON YAAKOV

A pleasant stay, excellent service reception, good location and quiet ,near the hotel alarge shopping mall, restaurants, metro station a few hundred meters, the breakfast is varied and rich, I would recommend the hotel to friends.

Novotel Barcelona City: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Bath needed a good clean"

26th November 2012, 732littlelegs, London, United Kingdom

We questioned the housekeeper about the cleanliness of the bath and once she had removed a pubic hair she deemed it clean not being convinced we were given another room. Hotel in commercial area so no shops open on Sunday. Swimming pool only to be used when supervised, failed to find a staff member in that area.

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great hotel in a Great City"

22nd November 2012, Warszawa

I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and I will definitely come back. I got a room at 16th floor with magnificent view on Barcelona and on one of its main attractions - Sagrada Familia. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very quick check in and check out; every question answered. They also booked a beautiful Flamenco Show for us.I liked breakfasts with lots of choices; I particularly liked wide choice of fresh juices. The buffet breakfast price is a little too high compared to prices in the city but it is nothing exceptional - like with any other hotel breakfast price. The room was quite big and comfortable, so was the bathroom. AC was working fine and a window could be partly opened to get some fresh air if needed. The location is convenient; there is a tourist bus stop across the street; there is a big Carrefour supermarket and a shopping mall across the street; there is 200m to the underground red station - direct to Plaza de Catalunya.Despite November, it was 20 deg during the day and around 17 in the evening - perfect temperatures for sightseeing - it was getting dark around 6pm.Will definitely use this hotel again.

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Good value modern hotel"

7th November 2012

For the price I was expecting a comfortable room, but not much more. In fact, the hotel is quite stylish and, as such, offers more than just good value. It is an enjoyable base from which to explore Barcelona. Positives are the spacious, modern rooms with good sized bathrooms; beautiful panoramas of the city from higher rooms; a nice rooftop pool/gym/patio; and the usual good Novotel breakfast. The staff were very heplful during our stay and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The location will suit some people and frustrate others. It is located immedaitely opposite a large shopping centre and has good tram/metro/bus connections into the old town. But, at about 25 to 30 minutes walk from the old town, it is too far to walk regularly into town and back. That said, the value for money, the modern conveniences, and the good transport connections more than make up for location slightly outside the town centre.

Novotel Barcelona City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great hotel - shame about the location (and bathrooms!)"

12th September 2012, London, United Kingdom

Staff at this modern hotel are incredibly friendly and efficient. I have a Favourite Guest Card and they certainly treated us as Favourite Guests. Had a room uograde (great suites) but..............The bathrooms are BLACK and I mean BLACK. The lighting is dim and I had problems shaving and my partner had difficulty applying make-up! Style over function??The hotel is located a bit off the tourist map but very near Glories metro station - certainly not a walk to the centre - you will spend a bit on metro tickets. Lots of Cruise Ship passengers on their first nights so reception can be busy.Didn't try the restaurant as Barcelona has much better attractions. All in all a comfortable, modern hotel with a few previsos.

Novotel Barcelona City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "4+ it's ranking of my staying in Novotel Barcelona."

2nd September 2012, ErkinTashkent, Tashkent

During my last stay all was good. In this hotel only the breakfast not for 100 percent has justified my expectations. The rooms in hotel have very much liked me they as always answer high status of Novotel.

Novotel Barcelona City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Barcelona extraveganza"

14th August 2012, 290Helsa, Surfers Paradise, Australia

The novotel was a busy hotel but staff were extremely helpful at all times. We were given a lovely high floor room with great views over the city, and of the blue tower. Not the fault of the hotel, but construction was beginning on a multi storey below our window. There wasn't much noise due to effective sound-proofing but the view may be lost in later years to this building.

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "7 days family stay in Barcelona"

27th July 2012, Jahrl, Senlis, France

Very well situated Novotel, close to the GLORIAS Metro or Tramway. If you travel as a family it is not necessary to take the breakfast at the hotel but you can do so at the commercial centre close-by or at the cafe situated just at the corner of the hotel. That will be more cost-efficient for you.

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "very enjoyable stay"

8th July 2012, Athlone, Ireland

Pool very small but rooftop pool area and bar lovely wit fab views of barcelona.Had interconnecting generous sized rooms.

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Good choice"

12th June 2012, LACMLC, Lakenheath, England

The hotel staff was VERY accommodating towards families. They even have an extra late check out policy for families that may have late day travel. The breakfast was amazing but may be a bit pricey for people. It was plentiful, delicious and convenient so in my book, well worth 18 euros. There is a shopping center across the street which is handy for less expensive meal options. The hotel was clean and had a really nice rooftop pool, gym and lounge area.

Novotel Barcelona City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "great hotel close to the new rambla.."

12th June 2012

its a nice hotel close to the city centre but its NOT actually the city centre..that's one disconnect we realized..the city centre in Barcelona is the Ramblas and the plaza catalunya which are 4 and 3 metro stations away from glory's diagonal where this hotel is..by taxi it takes about 15 mins to get there and costs about 7/8 euros only..breakfast is good but a la-cart dinner could be a bit boring..all other standard Novotel facilities viz free netsurfing, etc come handy..are around the swimming pool is a big party zone..!

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Shame its not more central...."

6th June 2012, stonegroover, Newcastle-under-Lyme, United Kingdom

Lovely hotel, a few of the staff were a bit grumpy, the bar sells draught beers as 30cl but actually serves them in 25cl glasses, thereby ripping you off by giving you only 83% of what you have paid for, a small detail but its the principle I don't like. I asked the bar staff about this and they said that its what the management have told them to do. The location is good, by being next to the Glories shopping centre and there are a few bars and restaurants nearby but the centre of Barcelona is at least one tram ride away (two rides with a change if you want to get right in to the middle) so in essence you must allow around half an hour each way realistically in to your plans.

Novotel Barcelona City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good value for the money.."

4th June 2012, matkustaja_12, Espoo, Finland

Nice stay, nothing really to complain about, maybe location is not ideal but still quiet and good subway connection close by.THe only negative thing was that we were supposed to have a baby cot in our room, but it took about 1 hour to get it to our room and our 8-month old kid was already sleeping when we checked in at 10.00 p.m.But nice hotel, nice stay, reasonable price.

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent Hotel in Barcelona"

21st May 2012, Melbourne, Australia

This hotel is very modern with well appointed rooms, good comfortable beds and great service. The only downside is its location to the centre of Barcelona, however there are two major shooping centres in very close proximity to the hotel and the tram and bus runs past the hotel.

Novotel Barcelona City: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Very good hotel if travelling with young children"

20th May 2012, vs-blr, Bangalore, India

Clean rooms, good value since breakfast is free for children, good entertainment options for young children

Novotel Barcelona City: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Ideal location"

18th May 2012, annmareehaley, Gourdon, France

Convienient location close to all services, with a staff that were willing to help at all times. Very close to metro and a large shopping center.

1. Lowest public prices observed over the following seven days
