"Weekend at the Chalet"
10th May 2012, BennyPhammer, Melbourne, Australia
Beautiful weekend away. Paid for valley view room and was given room on 7th floor with amazing views. Room was clean and very spacious. Only real negative was that the bed was slightly uncomfortable and the check out time of 10AM is a little early. Pool and Sauna facilities were a big plus. We were impressed with the breakfast that was included in the room rate which consisted of us ordering anything we wanted from the menu as the buffet was not available (im assuming due to a shortage of guests that weekend). Overall, would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great weekend away in the alpine region over summer.
"Great summer holiday"

I stayed on Mt Buller with my sisters for a girls weekend of hiking. The location of this hotel is excellent, with the village just outside the door and great walking tracks particularly across to Mt Stirling. The hotel is a little dated however very comfortable. The staff at the front desk were super friendly and very helpful. Late checkout was not a problem. The food is a little expensive but you kind of expect it with the destination being quite isolated. For a great Sunday lunch we headed down to Mansfield and went to the Produce Store - where the food was excellent.
"Worth the drive"
30th March 2012, Melbourne, Australia
Great place, awesome food, good service, but the bed was a little hard and uncomfortable. Staff went out of their way to advise us of the things to see and do in the area.
"Buller"

Grand Mercure is a lovely place to stay. The staff were all friendly and could not do enough for us. Management met all our requests and went above and beyond. Some errors were made in the dining room but the staff went out of their way to ensure the problems were solved to everyones satisfaction. The pool and spa were a welcome relief after a day out in the saddle of our mountain bikes in the rain. This hotel is well situated and the amenities and meals were great. Have stayed before and will definitely stay again.
"Excelent stay"
21st February 2012, Canberra, Australia
We had very good night at the hotel. The only reson the score for service was down was that they appeared to be under staffed in the resturant due to being out of season. The staff werer run of their feet but did a great job and the food was excelent .
"great food, comfortable room, spectacular views"
26th January 2012, nathalia
Friendly service welcomed us for our brief relaxing stay overnight. Black Cockatoo Restaurant served top quality food in a creative manner and wines were excellent.spectacular views from our window table enhanced an enjoyable evening. Our room quite comfortable, and again the views over mountain ranges and valleys really just beautiful. Off season of course meant very quiet, but as relaxation is what we were looking for, suited us well.Hotel is a little tired, however, service and atmosphere make up for it. A full and tasty breakfast left us feeling more than satisfied with our stay.
"Beautiful Views"
25th January 2012, Sydney, Australia
Beautiful views, fantastic location overlooking the mountains. Rooms well laid out, very comfortable accompanied by the friendly service one would expect in a hotel of quality. Really enjoyed my stay in the cool refreshing air away from the heat of the plains.Downside - parking, restaurant expensive.
"W/E ESCAPE"
20th May 2011, Melbourne
We knew that it snowed all week and were looking forward to our stay at Mt Buller, but on arrival the steps were iced over and dangerous to walk on. The hotel receptionist was rude. Our roon was OK, the bed comfortable but the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. We had dinner in the hotel and the meals were lovely, service was good.
"Great retreat"
6th May 2011, Melbourne
The satff were excellent. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation or replacement of windows prior to ski season. Check if that's finished.Hotel is starting to date, but otherwise great location. Dining in Black Cockatoo is expensive and the wine prices are very expensive. Quality of food fntastic.
"Aging but still a gooden..."
26th April 2011, melbourne
Starting to show its age a little but still comfy, clean and the on site restaurant is brilliant, good location, lacking a little in car parking. Brilliant if your skiing, but nice place to escape for a quite weekend away in down season. Would stay again for sure!
"In need of a revamp!!!"
14th April 2011, melbourne
The rooms seemed unmaintaned and outdated. the first room we stayed in the cupboard handles fell off, toilet seat was broken and the door to enter the room didnt lock. upon being upgraded to a room with a lock whilst opening the windows the knobs fell off and there was used toilet paper in the bowl. The restaurant was lovely however very expensive. 1 carrot with a $40 steak?? surely more veg could have been added for that price. I am also 7 months pregnant and did not find the bathroom pregnancy friendly at all. Getting in and out of the shower felt unsafe as it was too high and very slippery.
"A mountain top experience"
27th January 2011, LJB55, Harden
The Grand Mercure Chalet Mt Buller is a quality Resort. In the summer off season, it becomes a place of escape from the city without the hustle and bustle of skiers coming and going. The mountain views are arguably the best in Australia. The food good and the service excellent.
