"Not as expected"

If you are arriving by car there is no place, where you can stop in front of the hotel. While the hotel appears to have a few parking spaces in front of it, these are always full. The receptionist directed us to a hotel garage a few 100 meters away, however the directions are very complicated, and you get lost quite easily. The rooms are quite small, the bed is terrible. It is very soft (too soft), ours was broken. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel. Breakfast is 27 CHF, however, there is a very nice bakery just arround the corrner, where 2 can have a very nice breakfast for about 20 CHF.

"Zurich City stay"

This hotel is in the middle of refurbishment, the lifts were being done while I was there. I stayed in a refurbished single room and it was excellent in terms of fittings. Reception staff were not particularly welcoming/helpful and the servicing of the room was done during late afternoon. Location is excellent if you use the tram system and there are plenty of local places to eat offering a good choice of food. Value for money was good. I have said I would recommend the hotel to a friend but it would be with the reservations included in this review.

"Nice touches & comfortable stay."

Comfortable stay in a room for 4. Liked the free bottled water and soft drink from the mini bar. Pleasant staff who greeted us with friendly smile each time we came and went. We used the parking garage that was a couple of blocks away but never needed our car as public transport was easy to use and right outside the Hotel. Overall a pleasant experience for a couple of days exploring Zurich with kids.

the hotel need the following-WIFI service to be available through the hotel not through credit card and another operator- u need to change the key system to card key- u need to have a bell man so that he can help clients with their luggage- the TV has to have more variety of international channels.-

Management responseDear guest, thank you very much for your comment.The LAN wired service will be available for all guests after the renovation has been completed. The wireless can only be accessed by an extern company, as the hotel does not provide communication services like Swisscom, IOL or other. The key-card should have been already installed, but delayed by the asiatic provider, who is unable to respect the contracted delay. The TV channels choice depend to the provider. The hotel size and moderate price level does not allow the installation of satellite antena for all world-wide TV channels, but those, who correspond to the wishes of the majority of the clients.

"Decent hotel near terminus of tram 3 (west)"

Decent hotel, clean & tidy, room safe was older type with a key, too small to put a laptop or tablet pc into. no free internet. Current low rates due to renovation work make it a bargain at 100 CHF / night.

"good business hotel"

Although it is obviously an old property (they still use actual keeps for your room...), the hotel is comfortable and the staff welcoming.good place with acceptable rates for Zurich, which is a very expensive destination.

"Zurich in a day"

This hotel should be rated as very good, but I reduced it to average for two main reasons. First, although the location is not inconvenient, it is located nearly a mile from the heart of Zurich. I didn't mind the walk at all, but it may not be desirable for others. Second, the parking garage was located about 1/4 mile from the hotel and was about $30 per day. There were 5 or 6 parking spaces in front of the hotel, but they were always taken. Once again, I didn't mind the walk, although the price was unfortunate. Mercure should not endeavor to subsidize it's income through exobitant rates for parking. This is not a bad hotel, but I would not recommend it for those two reasons.

It is extremely advantagous to use the public transportation system with the tram stop opposite to the hotel. Only 10-16 minutes up to the city center.

"Reasonably priced, good location"

Located in Zurich the hotel is well located near tram line and reasonably priced in Swiss standards. Rooms quite small but ok for one person. Rooms located in 5th floor (business floor?) are quiet. Breakfast extremely expensive.

"expected more"

nice and clean. bathroom with bathtube! but no air conditioning and cant sleep with opened windows because the hotel is situated by the big noisy street. absolutely no ventilation in bathroom. parking was 100 meters away in underground garage and you have to run with the key back and forth.

"Quality Mercure hotel for a stay in Zurich"

The hotel offers above average service and quality in the rooms and dining areas with an extensive in house menu of quality food. It is within 30 metres of tram stops for both the lake and station (!0 mins Journey time)and near a great coffee/ bakery shop. Tip if you arrive at the main staion take the No3 tram to Albisrledrplatz (10 mins) then walk 30 meters to the hotel just off the square

"Memorable and Enjoyable Stay at Mercure, Zurich"

Its just 10 mins from the central zurich, every 5 mins you have tram connection just outside the Hotel, the staff is extremely friendly and courteous, the rooms are small but give spacious feeling for the reason of good ambience and sunlight. Overall we were very happy and enjoyed our stay. Breakfast should be booked while booking the room itself lest its costly

"good value for money"

The location of the hotel is a bit off the downtown, however still well connected by tram. The room is rather spaceful compared with what you are likely to get in a city like Zurich. The frontdesk was very helpful. Though it was a pity that I had to keep my laptop computer off as I did not manage to borrow the swiss electricity adapter (all borrowed out). The rate is good considering the expensiveness of Zurich. Cable internet access in room is free.

"Noicy stay at Mercure in Zürich"

We choose Mercure for our 1 night stay in Zürich because we have made good experiance with Mecure Hotels before. The purpose with our stay was to have a long good nights sleep in Zürich after having been business travelling for 1 week in Scandinavia and before going leisure shopping in Zürich. Instead of getting our well diserved long nights sleep we woke up at 7 am due to heavy machinery mending the street in front of the hotel. This was no surprise for the hotel personel as the works in the street must have gone on for weeks already. The hotel clerk informed us about it when we arrived at the hotel (11 p.m. - too tired and too late to search for another hotel). My request is, please inform your guest about a temporary noice close to the hotel in your internet booking service, then the guest can decide to cope with the circumstances or to book another hotel for this special night. Now you have lost a frequent travelling customer.

"Lack of Customer Focus"

I didn't find them customer friendly. With more customer friendly approach, maybe my spending would have been bigger. I cannot recomment this hotel, I definitely will choose another accomodation if I need to be in Zurich next time.
