We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Sanur was our fist stop point before moving to other places in Bali. Our impression: A well maintained hotel, beautiful scenery and staffs are very friendly.My only disappointment was the beach. We think the beach can be maintained better. We noticed a lot of grass on the left side of the beach and also abundant sea weed. We strongly believe if those two issues can be improved, this hotel will be a perfect place for a long family vacation.

enjoyed the location right on the beach. wasnt very impressed with the buffet breakfast, but could have been that we were late down for breakfast and the food had been sitting there for a while.

"Hidden Gem"

This was our third trip to Bali. Two adults and two teenage children. We stayed at the Mecure for a week after spending a week in Kuta. The position is idyllic. Located at the southern end of Sanur beach it has low cost Warungs a short distance to the south on the beach or more moderately priced Restaurants to the North just past the Sanur Beach Hotel. We had adjoining rooms that were both close to the beach and the two pools. 166 & 167. The gardens and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The rooms were cleaned daily and were to our expected standard. The resort is old by Kuta standards and if you look for faults you will find them. ie: a stain on a chair or a corner off a bench. However the position and the relaxing atmosphere far outweigh these. From what I saw of the other resorts it has the best location on the beach with a large area under shade and removed from the hustle and bustle that generally accompanies these types of resorts. Breakfast was adequate. The usual buffet but nothing to write home about. It was also within easing walking distance of the main street of Sanur with lots of restaurants, day spas and shops. We found most of our bargains at Hardy's dept. store a $1.00 taxi fare away. $2.00 with tip. Some favourite restaurants were Ceasars, Trophy, Ribs, Cena beach restaurant and the one across the road from the Mecure was value for money. Generally the restaurants were cheaper than Kuta and were better value. If we go back to Bali the Mecure Resort Sanur will be high on our list.

Friendly and very helpfull staff with the good attitude towards customers.Beautifull gardens, swimming pools and good towel service; stretchers on the beach need maintenance/replacement.Breakfast is enormous with (more than) sufficient choicesCabinets, drawers, etc in the rooms need replacementBalcony needs maintenance

"Just fine"

No complaints. Standard resort hotel. Pools are good, breakfast is good, grounds are very nice, restaurant a bit dear, better to eat down around the corner at the beach warungs. Taxi organiser at the front sets a fair price. Good place if you get a good deal

Great staff couldnt be any friendlier. Food at the restaurant was fabulous at breakfast heaps of choice.Some nights is Al a carte, others is buffet so check prior, the buffet is greatTheonly fault was we requested a double bed and got twin.

"Pleasant and relaxing"

Hotel was exactly what we were expecting. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was very nice, pity about the tap over the wash basin, it was not installed properly. Water was never hot, but warm enough to enjoy a shower The Air conditioning worked well, beds were comfortable, breakfast had lots of choice, and the beach was a perfect place to spend a relaxing time under the shade of beautiful trees. Don't bother with the Restaurant for lunch or Dinner - service not good, very expensive and no real atmosphere. There are many independent restaurants outside the Hotel that are lovely and very cheap. Art Cafe was our favourite place to eat in the evenings.

"Mecure Sanur"

Sanur is generally a quieter area of Bali but this hotel was at the end of the long hotel strip and a bit far from the main area of shops and restaurants although there were plenty around it. The staff were friendly but the cleanliness of the rooms could have been a lot better. We had a delux room and the sofa had dubious stains on it and room service dishes were left outside with stray cats licking the plates. The mattress and pillows were very hard. The pools and beach were very nice.

"Very Average"

I have stayed in a lot of Accor Hotels around the world and a lot of resorts in Bali over many years and I have to say that this one is a bit of a disapointment. I had never stayed here before and thought I would give it ago. As a Accor club member I got a cheap rate and now I know why. Room (Deluxe) was old and tired looking and the bathrooms are well and trury due for an upgrade. Service was ok, but only ok. The pool looked murky and unclean, when I pointed this out to staff, I was met with a shrug of the shoulders and not much more.If you are the GM of this resort and your reading this review, I suggest that a trip to the Novotel at Nusa Dua or Benoa would be well worth the drive to see how a well run Bali resort operates.

Staff and resort are beautiful. Travelled with 3 children under 5. Good location. Great restaurant, pool and staff. A little old and run down in rooms etc. Small communication problems when booking from Australia. Next time will go for more of the house or villa style so we can prepare food for children better.

"Relaxing holiday"

Although this hotel/resort is old, we were fortunate to get am udated room, though some maintenance is still required. We visited during the wet season so expected rain, but the hole in the roof above our stairs created an unsafe situation.I would really appreciate smoking signage in the restaurant. As an australian, used to no smoking in eating areas, I was really annoyed to have smokers on the next table who had no concern for anyone else, lighting up when they had finished eating. So a sign for the "non - smoking" area would have been great. Other than that the stay was more than expected and I would stay again.

"Good hotel but distrubance by music into the rooms and balcony"

The location close to the beach is OK, and not far from shopping facility as well. Still, we were bothered by two music - disturbances. One, too lood music from the swimming pool made it not pleasant to sit on the balcony of our rooms. Two, people from an adjacent room found it necessary or did not bother to disturb other guests by producing loud music in their room. Perhaps, the swimming pool noise encouraged such behaviour? Next time at Bali I look for a hotel that does not bother its guests by enforced noise (the pool loudspeakers).

"good hotel and a happy stay"

we travelled with teenagers and spend a 5 days happy new year holiday in this good hotel. stuffs are very professional and nice, breakfast is really good with many choices, especially the free shuttle bus to the hardy's supermarket finally became our daily fixed programme. the stay is memorable and we give our strong recommend.

"Run down resort"

We have used this resort before. It is now really looking run down, the rooms need a total renovation, the mattresses sag badly, the bathroom fixtures are all shakey and the place never seemed really clear. Strangest of all though is the check in -- it took me 45 minutes to complete a regular check in with no complications that I was aware of. The reception staff are friendly but half asleep, and coordination with housekeeping seemed sloppy. That all said, the location is great, the gardens are lovely and mature and the pools are great. But we won't stay there again.

"Very dispointing Hotel"

everything in this hotel room is not working properly, the water is very weak, the water heater is not hot enought, there is no electricity power in my room when we ceck in, and we called the reception 6 times, and we have to wait 3 hours for enginering to come to my room.

"Ordinary Beach Resort...location wise...not so convenient"

This is a very typical type of beach resort. The resort itself is quite balinese, the builing, room and they have someone who played traditional musical instrument at the lobby. Room is pretty spacious but doesn't feel like 4 star resort, especially the amenities like shampoo or shower gel, The beach isn't that great and you certainly do not get nice sunset view...The hotel do have daily activities for the guests but we don't really bother to know. There are 2 swimming pools but both are just simple pool...Service wise nothing much to mention...if you know a bit of Indonesian language then it seems to be fine...if you purely speak English then there might be a bit of communication problem as i seen them handling with other guests. We got a very special rate for staying in this hotel and it doesn't come with breakfast...anyway there are plenty of restaurant in sanur town where you can get very decent breakfast.. Anyway...it's not easy to find good hotel in Bali...unless you are willing to pay good fortune to stay in 5 star luxury hotel...otherwise the 4 star hotels or resorts are just far behind those in Bangkok or Siem Reap...

"nice but dirty bathroom"

Beautiful furniture and decor but cannot get over the filthy tiles in the bathroom - had to wear sandals in shower. They may get rinsed with water but some kind of cleansing powder should be applied to get the scum and mould off the tiles. Although the sheets and pillow cases were freshly laundered, the cusion covers were not and one was particularly dirty. Bathroom cleanliness is not rated high in Indonesia but I would expect the Mecure to have a clean bathroom.
