I stayed in the ocean view room, but the room was next to the a vacant room which was used as storage or something else and the outside part of that room was not clean, obviously seen from my room window. There was a big pipe hanging to the vacant room next door and it was simply not neat and unpleasant to see. Worst was, the bathroom was smelly (rats urine), the smell came from the drainage channel either in the closet, on the floor, or the bath tub. The hotel staff did some fixing and spraying, it was ok for a while but in fact it really didn't solve the problem. About 3 hours after that, the smell stroke again and we had unpacked and it'd be such a big hassle if we had to change room. Lucky enough the smelly part was only the bathroom, not all over the room.

The hotel is located in a nice seaside view in side a big resort compound. But there is small inconvenience as there is entrance fee to be paid when enter into theresort for hotel registration.

The view is amazing plus strategic location facing to the ocean and sorrounded by many fun places such as dufan, atlantis, etc. The food is delicious and quiet variety. I spend my quality time in mercure ancol with my wife and it is unforgetable.

The hotel is very nice, good service and in good location. It's easy to find. It's very near with Dufan and Ancol. The room is clean and comfortable to stay.The bathroom is clean. I really satisfied with the service in the hotel.

"the best place in town to stay with kids"

Surrounded by theme park and other recreation facilities in Ancol, this hotel is the best place to stay with kids. The rooms are clean and newly renovated. I stayed in the deluxe rooms which are quite big and get free internet in our rooms.But the water is yellow, the breakfast are very crowded and the menu is poor.

"Good facilities, rather poor room, so so restaurant"

Good thing first, the hotel is spacious, large parking area, good swimming pool with fun features such as water spray. Too bad the twisting water slides was not operational when we swam in the afternoon.There's also an outdoor children playground and kids club with various activities enough to keep the children busy for several hours.Elevators on both wings made it comfortable for us to reach our rooms which was on the far side of one wing.The hotel is inside the Ancol Amusement Park, which is a good and bad. The good is there's plenty of activities & attraction nearby. The bad is it's became too crowded during weekend.The room is a major disappointment for us. We have 2 deluxe tower king room with connecting door. The room and its furnitures was old, the carpet partly worn out. The metal tissue holder on the sink cabinet is rusty. TV is still the old tube TV, not flat screen LCD TV. Several light bulbs in the room was not functioning, we have to call the front desk for repair.We heard that the rooms in the newer tower is better though, with new furnitures and LCT TV.We have buffet dinner at the restaurant, the menu selection was quite generous but the taste was mainly average, except for the teppanyaki which we think was quite good.

"Not the right place for us, may be for others"

We stayed there in 4 rooms to celebrate the New Year so that we had to take their New Year’s package wich included the galadinner and 2-night stay. We chose it due to the location which is not far and it’s inside the Taman Impian Jaya Ancol Park, so our kids could enjoy the park. We were given 4 rooms next to another, all twin beds, on smoking floor although I chose double bed and non smoking room when I made reservations. The front office said that it depends on the availability of the rooms. I did not expect much on the room as we stayed here in 2009 and did not see much difference eversince. Our rooms were clean but the linen and the bathroom looked old. The washtafel in my room cracked. The availability of amenities was not standard for example our room got 1 pair of slippers while the other room got 2, the other rooms got chocholate box, we did not. On the last day there was no handtowel in my room, and the other room did not have the floor towel. On our first day we had BBQ dinner at the coffeeshop, the food was good, the seafood was fresh. We had breakfast in the same place everyday. The breakfast menu was varied, the thing I did not like is that they allowed people to smoke in the open area of the coffeeshop although they have some No Smoking Signs. The staff even gave ashtray to the smokers. Overall they need to improve their staff to serve the customer better and coordination among the department. The staff who’re in charge of the galadinner registraton needed improvement to communicate. When we chose the table for the galadinner, they just informed us that the children would have the dinner in separate room and the parents might not accompany them until 11pm. They could not explain why the children are separated except saying “Sorry you cannot accompany your kid” many times. One of them just gave the answer, “Your kid could be accompanied by her baby sitter”. How could she assume that every kid is accompanied by a baby sitter? The Duty Manager, could give some more information although the result was the same (later on he assisted us when we left our goods after checking out). After that the other girl tried to give us a table next to the stage (will be difficult to see the show) while previoulsy we were informed that we could choose a table in front of the stage. The other thing is that we did not realise that they provided a parking sticker so that we could park in the hotel parking lot until we saw the cars parked had the stickers. When I asked the front office, he told me to ask the security officer who then referred me to the officer at the parking gate, outside the lobby. Finally the officer outside the lobby (not the gate) gave me the sticker after I showed some gestures that it should be them providing me the sticker not me who had to walk to the gate to get the sticker.

"low rated service"

It was my fist time to stay at this hotel and also a very unpleasant one because I've never experienced such a poor quality hotel service ever since I started to stay at Accor hotels in various cities in Indonesia as well as overseas. I booked for two rooms during my stay, a deluxe ocean view and a superior twin but to my surprise the hotel does not provide a non- smoking room for superior twin. The rooms are old and the pillows are thin. Prior to our arrival, my wife called the hotel to ask for an early check-in (before 2 p.m.) and the operator told us to try at 3 p.m. instead (we knew that the standard check-in time is at 2 p.m.). It is so annoying to have such an ignorant operator. Furthermore, upon our arrival at the hotel, there was no concierge available at the main lobby entrance except a security guard with metal detector standing. I have to leave my car and ask for assistance in unloading my luggage. We have to wait for an hour just to have the staff to unlock the mini bar. There is no hot water in the deluxe ocean view but only warm water. The staffs are basically lack of courtesy and so unprofessional except for a pleasant welcome by one of the receptionists (that's really help). It didn't reflect the quality that it should except for the price that is.

"Poor Hotel at Nice Location"

Mercure hotel Ancol does not reflect your real image as an international chain hotel. The outside looking is poor also the inside facility either. It is so unfortunate if you could not upgrade your facilities soon because your location is very strategic and the environment outside the hotel is very nice. I was staying at the old room which is not renovated yet. My room is so terrible and too old for international brand like Mercure. I hope that Mercure will renovate the bulding as well as the room therefore guests will becoming from local and international.

"very poor standard room"

strange-smelling room, lots of mosquitoes in the bathroom, noisy rooms because of noise from air conditioning too loud ...furniture was too old, and many of the blisters, so looks are not exclusive, compared to rooms in the hotel ibis, much different
