Wonderful location, lots to do and see. Hotel was great handy to everything and beautiful beach. Stayed in oceanview roon with balcony, worth upgrade lulled to sleep by ocean. Staff and facilities excellent.

"Excellent location"

A good hotel in a great location. Hotel,is currently undergoing renovations; you could be in for quite walk .. just to get to the elevator. Room was clean and reasonably furnished; overall not really that good value for money.

"Holiday in Manly"

While I had previously associated Novotel with business trips and thought of it as a hotel where one stayed for a few nights only I have now, based on my experience of staying in The Novotel Manly Pacific, revised my opinion. i stayed there with my wife for a holiday in Sydney. This hotel proved to be an eye opener. To start with our room was spacious with a balcony and 2 generous double (if not king siza) beds. The window slid well open to reveal a breathtaking view of Manly beach and surfers. Breakfast was a generous and varied buffet. All staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. It is close to restaurants and shops. It is within walking distance (about 700 metres) of the ferry to Circular Quay and the centre of Sydney. My only fault was there were some renovations going on for the last week of my stay with some of the rooms but work was limited to the hours of 7.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. I am assured these will be complete by July. We stayed from 31st March to 7th April and based on my experience rebooked immediately for the next 2 weeks - only leaving on 22nd Apr in order to return to Ireland.

"Just OK........."

Up until a couple of years ago I stayed at the Manly Pacific every month for 5 years, the service was good, the location was good, and it was good value to stay there. I had not been there for a couple of years due to the price going up after the major renovations were done, but due to it's location was keen to go back! I paid extra for Ocean Views and the rooms are large with a really good bed, but the fittings are poor (crap telly) and there was no furniture in the room when it could have easily fitted a couch, a table and some chairs. The room felt as though they had stuck a bed in a garage. After staying there some sixty times over the last 7 years, I was expecting better, the price is too high now and most of the rooms were empty because of this. Very disappointing and the next time I am in Manly will probably give the Sebel a go up the road.

"Beware of Double Charging by This Hotel"

I am most disappointed that our stay of five room-nights (3 nights in one room and 2 nights in another room) has been double-charged:I paid upon check-in on 20 April $787 by eftpos, and upon check-out on 23 April $877.50 also by eftpos. The total sum of $1,664.50 has covered all expenses incurred, including meals, etc.However, I found out that on 28 April, there were four additional charges incurred by the hotel, namely: 540, $230, $152.25, and $ 150, totalling $1,072.25.

"Novotel Manly Pacific"

The only reason the service didn't get top rating was the Restaurant. Everyone else was tops. Our party of 7 arrived unbooked at the Restaurant just after 9pm on the Friday evening (it is advertised as being open till 10.00pm), and there were only two other tables occupied. We sensed that they had been hoping to knock off early, and the service wasn't as friendly as Novotels usually are. The food was excellent, however, and we enjoyed our evening.

"Renovations may increase appeal"

I found this hotel quite disappointing upon arrival, the initial staff member who checked us in was not overly helpful and gave poor directions. Our first room was right above the gym which is a large facility with heavily used cable weights and all we could hear until midnight and then again from 6am was the weights clanging. We then got moved to a better room, and the change was obvious, a much nicer, quieter room, with a king sized bed and all the standard trimmings you'd expect. However, the sound proofing in this room was still quite poor as you could clearly hear all conversations in the adjoining room and in the hallways. I found the overall service of staff great, yet I found every meal I ate (except for the Monday special chicken pie) to be very below par, and all meals too buttery or "plain".I would stay here again for work for the location, but I wouldn't reccomend it if you have to foot the expense yourself.

Relatively expensive hotel, but its location opposite Manly Beach is fantastic. It is a pity that the staff and management at the hotel dont appear to be too concerned about their customers. If you enjoy waiting 20 minutes to have the priviledge of checking out then this is your hotel. If you enjoy being woken at 7am on a Sunday morning by renovations in the hotel then I suggest you stay here. (Note. No renovations are meant to be occuring on the weekend, but management appear powerless to stop customers being disturbed - and also didnt appear interesting in customer experience).

"Love the location."

Love the location but very pricey for what it is. Hate having to step up into a bath to have a shower. I only gave a 3 for service due to the fact that the porter was really lazy and left our luggage on the trolley in the foyer. After waiting a half hour, we went down and brought it up ourselves. Otherwise, the service was exceptional. We should have been informed at time of booking about the disturbance from renovation work ... particularly jack hammers. No compensation for this was offered on room rate. Pay the extra for an ocean view room as the outlook is just magnificent.

"Good location, close to everything"

Had a great weekend, they have made some major changes to hotel, our room was old style but clean. Good bars to meet up with people, had Dj but a live band would be better.Cocktail list in main bar limited to about 6 selections asked for anymore options they said no.Relaxing seaside location opposite beach , walks , bikes, swimming, shopping, markets etc.

"Look at the beach Mum and Dad!!"

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the Novatel Manly. We travelled down from Tamworth with the kids for a short get away and to take them to the Zoo and Aquarium. After a stressful drive (the GPS took us through Pitt Street!!) to arrive at the Motel and be greeted by such friendly and helpful staff was just wonderful.The beachfront location and proximity to the CBD of Manly made our trip with the kids even easier. My daughters were given a lovely soft toy from reception and they have now taken pride of place on their beds!!Thanks again for a lovely holiday experience and we look forward to coming back in the future!!!

"Novotel Manly EXCELLENT"

We used our comp. night stay with no trouble and even though we had a standard room we had great views of the beach and found the hotel location was fantastic with lots of great places to eat and drink,we would stay here again!

"Like the curate's egg - good in parts"

A mixed experience, not helped by getting incorrect instructions on how to get to our rrom (and ending up in the middle of the conference centre). This hotel is in two distinct parts and the lifts do not co-incide. Depending upon where your room is located it might be very easy to find, or, as in our case, a bit of a route march and a change of lifts required. Our original room was probably going to be the quietest in the hotel, as it was located right at the back, with no outlook, and what appeared to be a double bed (not a queen). On the plus side, it had a large bathroom. We asked for another option and were given a wheelchair accessible room on the side of the hotel which was very large. It also had a small balcony from which there was a restricted ocean view. We also looked at an ocean view room, and although it appeared a reasonable size, the bathroom seemed quite small. So the rooms are a mixed bag depending upon where they are located. We had a welcome letter (as Advantage Plus members) which listed three eating place, Zali's restaurant, Sable tapas and wine bar open Friday to Sunday, and Charlies bar. Unfortunately, Zali's was offering a seafood buffet only (no a la carte), Sable was closed for a private function (which was also the case the following night) so it was off the Charlie's for us. We wanted a light meal as we had already had lunch. Charlie's is typical bar food with a few substantial offerings. Our pizza was satisfactory. The hotel has a roof top pool with a magnificent view of Many Beach and the surrounding area. The location right opposite the world famous Many Beach is unsurpassed. All in all, a mixed experience. Get the right room and you will be OK, but I object to being told there are three eating places only to find that one was unavailable to guests and the other was buffet only. The best part of the lobby bar (with an ocean view) had also been given over to a function for a few hours which also gave the impression that house guests rate behind pre booked functions.

"WE CAME BACK!"

Four years since our last stay here at Novotel Manly Pacific and we looked forward to coming back. We try and visit Manly annually and this is our preferred location provided vacancies exist. We joined the Accor Club several years back and find the associated benefits when booking and dining are well worth the annual membership fee. Outstanding proximity coupled with professional and very friendly staff add to the experience.

"One negative comment only"

No Continental breakfast provided, only full buffet. Would prefer Continental breakfast option more suited to small eaters and elderly guests. Very disappointing.As a user of this property for many years, for business and leisure, all other aspects of the property were excellent as usual.

"7 miles from Sydney but 1000 miles from care!"

This is how Manly used to be described. For us it was 20 miles from our home!We stayed 1 night using our A-Club "free night". So of course, it was great value. That said it was a great spot for a seaside stay in my home city. As the visit coincided with our birthdays we were able to get an upgrade to an ocean view room and there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed both meals. We are already planning to stay again next year and extending the visit to 2 or 3 nights so we can enjoy a ferry trip across to the city centre.

"Weekend getaway for Surf Lessons @ Manly Beach"

Overall very happy with the hotel & it's location. The staff (both at front desk & valet parking) were lovely to speak with and the cleaners were also very friendly upon crossing paths in the corridors.The only critic I have is that I thought the bathroom supplies would have expand more to just shampoo & body wash. In prior stays with the Novotel I have had toothbrushes & tooth paste also available.
