Novotel Reading Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "lovely bed"

8th March 2013, pete-sam2009, Exeter, United Kingdom

We stayed here as were going newbury races this hotel is great for the rail links, lovely staff & great room we were on the 13th floor which was great a little bit of noise from the main street but what do you expect from a city centre hotel this did not spoil our stay at all. The breakfast staff were always polite & efficient as were all the staff we encountered will definetly stay here again in the future.

My stay at Novotel Reading was very pleasant. This is my 4 visit & stay at this hotel. I recommend this hotel to all. The staff at the front desk was very helpful & co-operative. Location is excellent near the railway station & the shopping area.

Novotel Reading Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "The Right Hotel for Us"

4th February 2013, LemmonYork, York

We travel by train, so an hotel near the station is ideal- this hotel fills the bill. It just happens to be very good too- with the staff always obliging and friendly. Quality at the higher end of the market, especially for a town location.Have stayed here many times, and will be happy to return.

Novotel Reading Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Noisy air condition system"

11th January 2013, drfperez, Barcelona, Spain

We pay three months in advance and we sleep near a noisy air condition system of the corridor in front of our room. Just the next day they offer us a no noisy room. You have a free wi-fi but the problem is that is just 256kbps, that it is very slow. If you want a better wi-fi you need to pay.The hotel is located near the train station of Reading.

Novotel Reading Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Clean, comfortable, and convenient"

13th December 2012, LemmonYork, York

We need to visit Reading regularly, for family reasons. This hotel is ideally situated for us, being within close walking distance of the station. The hotel is invariably clean, the staff always most polite and helpful, and breakfasts suit us fine. Our only grouse- toilets are a little cramped!

Novotel Reading Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "One night in Reading"

8th December 2012, JonMilsom, Wolverhampton, United Kingdom

Despite being located on a run down street the hotel is new, clean and has excellent facilties. The pool and steam room were very welcome after the night before. The hotel is ideally situated for shopping at the Oracle and the pubs, restaurants & cinema by the river side. Overall a very good hotel, excellent value. Reading town centre was a very pleasant surprise too! I would definately use this hotel again.

Novotel Reading Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good Value"

27th November 2012, Rochester126, Rochester, United Kingdom

I stay at the Novotel Reading at least once a month to visit family. We always have a great time there and the facilities are great, the rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly and polite. The only negative thing is the noise from the revellers in the early hours of the mornings, especially on the weekend but due to the very convenient location I suppose it is to be expected. I would recommend the Novotel to anyone wishing to stay in the heart of Reading.

Novotel Reading Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great City centre hotel"

22nd November 2012, charltonbear, Cardiff

An excellent city centre hotel, especially if you can get a late deal price. Everything is fresh and new and housekeeping staff are very much in evidence meaning that it was spotlessly clean whilst we were there, staff are friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was good. My only criticism would be that the hotel is kept at an almost tropical temperature, even with the air con on full the heat was uncomfortable which was not what we expected in Reading in November.

Novotel Reading Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Great location but room was not so great"

21st November 2012, midge32, Camberley, United Kingdom

We stayed at th novotel reading recently and found the hotel was very clean and the staff were polite, but in the room the bed was rock solid and only had 1 pillow each which was also very hard so made it very difficult to sleep. rooms were clean and included a sofa which was nice but we would not stay again because we could not get a good night sleep and that was the only reason to stay at the hotel.

Novotel Reading Centre: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Strongly advised"

15th November 2012, Ray_Dowdall, Paris, France

I've been staying at the Novotel in Reading at least four times per year for the last five years. I keep returning, and with good reason. The high standard of service and friendliness of the staff have remained constant during those five years. A yardstick I use to judge the quality of any establishment I use regularly, restaurant or hotel, is the turnover of staff. I've always found that a low turnover of staff equates to a high standard of quality and such is the case with the Novotel in Reading. The staff know me by name, know that I like informality and make me feel welcome each time I return. I'm not talking about the superficial "your-business-is-very-important-to-us" welcome, but a genuine interest in what's been happening to me since my last visit.I've given four stars for value. This is because the Monday-to-Friday rate is quite expensive. However, if reserving on the web at least 30 days in advance, a 30% discount can be obtained. In addition, the weekend rates (I almost always stay the weekend) are very competitive. If coming from Euroland, I would recommend settling everything, including web-booking, in GBP, as their EUR-GBP exchange rates are prohibitive--about 10% above the rate you will be charged with a credit/debit card by your bank. The rooms are very comfortable, well maintained and now include WIFI. Facilities for making tea and coffee are available in all rooms. I've never seen the need to upgrade to an Executive Room but, then again, I've never been much into Nespresso coffee. The hotel is within five minutes walking distance of Reading railway station and Railair bus terminal. Taxis are also very easy to find. Being situated in the centre of Reading, all shopping areas are just a short walk away. Reading gets quite busy on weekend nights, but a request for a quiet room on checking in has never left me disappointed on any of my visits. The hotel has one of the best breakfast buffets I've encountered anywhere, with an enormous range of foods to suit all tastes. Plays havoc with the waistline though...To sum up, I really can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Novotel Reading Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Consistently good"

12th September 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Good consistent quality and service. I only slept and had breakfast but the package was good the service consistent with the standard I would expect for this rating and usually very friendly, even on checkout. Great location near station and office, decent size rooms and good nights sleep. Because I was staying 6 night they made sure I was in a quiet romm, thoughtful.
