ibis Reading Centre: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Poor Service and rude staff"

7th March 2013, robbieotter, Egham, United Kingdom

Check in was fine, get up to the room and put he kettle , go to get out a tea bag open the packet and there was no tea bag it also in the second 1 . So I call down to reception, they say come down and get some not even a sorry. The next morning i go to breakfast, and the host says i don't have it, I inform her that i paid for it in cash when i checked in. She then call's down reception, then tells me i haven't paid for it. I ask to speak to the DM, she tell's me i can't , i have to go down to reception, to sort it. So i go down to reception, lucky it was the person who checked me in, she said i forgot to put it on the system, she told be to go back up ans she let the host know. When i got back up there the host didn't even say sorry. It seams staff here don't have customer service training, to help with the customers journey. It will be very unlikely i will staying here again, which is a shame as i go to reading and need a hotel at-least 1 weekend out of 4. It be nice if management replies to the complaint i emailed to them when i got home that sunday , Robert Otterwell1st - 3rd MarchRM 314

ibis Reading Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Clean and comfortable"

26th February 2013, SingleMum76, Reading

I can't fault the cleanliness of the hotel. The bed was comfortable and despite its central location, there wasn't any noise outside (I was on the 8th floor). The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

ibis Reading Centre: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Average stay"

20th February 2013, Nar989, London, United Kingdom

The reception staff are the best part of this hotel and its location- central and easy to navigate. Unfortunately the bedrooms are poor standard- brown old carpet and reminds me of just a lack of interest in modernisation. However for the money- you get what you pay for I guess.

ibis Reading Centre: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Comfortable and friendly"

20th February 2013, Miquel_Gili, Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Hotel just near the Train station, very well located, and quite. Excellent service and clean. Rooms aren't large but were wide enough and comfortable. I only would like having wifi access in the room included in the price. Definitively a place to recommend.

ibis Reading Centre: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Basic, poor value for money."

18th February 2013, JudeCosgrove, Leeds, United Kingdom

For £100 in Reading I'd at least expect a double bed - not two pushed together singles (not mentioned on the website when booking). The room was a decent size, but very basic, drab decor. No plug sockets near the bed, so no chance of charging phone whilst using as an alarm.Staff were polite and attentive however, and checking in/out was quick and straightforward.Bottom line - £100 is simply too much to pay for one night in a single bed in a basic room, I won't be going back.
