Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good experience"

10th April 2012, Johannesburg, South Africa

Friendly staff, well located, a litte on the expensive side. Dusseldorf is a show city, it has a very well old city. Fantastic alt beer.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent stay, excellent hotel"

27th March 2012

We were met by the very personable Marco who advised us we'd been upgraded from a superior room to a suite. Naturally, we were delighted & the suite didn't disappoint, giving us free use of the mini bar and fresh fruit every day.Hotel food & amenities were great too. Only one minor faux pas regarding wifi access codes prevented the service rating getting 5/5.Location is pretty much spot on with easy access to the train station. It's in a part residential area and close to some seedy shops but the city centre & the Rhine is a very short walk, as are some great shopping malls & restaurants,Overall, very happy.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Does the job nicely"

13th February 2012, Berlin

I had an enjoyable stay at the Mercure in Düsseldorf. I arrived a little early on the day so couldn't get a room straight away but I did get a free croissant and coffee whilst waiting. It was just a shame that they left the door open in the corridor the entire morning so the foyer was exceptionally cold. I'm always a little annoyed when I need to pay for wifi but other than that, the hotel service was great.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good price value hotel."

Stayed last week one night in this hotel in the privilige suite. Try to book a room in one of the privelige rooms. Very nice and including minibar. Location is nice central and the breakfast is excelent. They have a friendly coffee to go cup next to the coffee machine. Will come back.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Dissapointing"

25th May 2011, Vancouver

I was suprised how small the room was for the costThe bed was slopping which caused me to sleep at an un natural angle and gave me back ach.Even with the airconditioning on the room was to hot. Th einside of the window was in disrepair due to water damage.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good Value Above Average Hotel"

2nd May 2011, london

I spent three nights in the Mercure Dusseldorf City Centre. The hotel is well-located, and is about 5-10 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof and a similar distance from the main shopping area. Despite a few adult nearby, the area felt safe. The hotel's reception desk was permanently staffed and a keycard was needed to operate the lift.I wasn't sure what to expect as I'd not stayed here before and know from experience that Mercure hotels can vary pretty considerably. However, I was impressed with this property. Check in was quick and efficient, although it has to be said that the hotel was not busy as it was a holiday weekend and I got the impression that it caters mainly to the business crowd.I'd paid for a "Privilege Room" . The room was spacious, well appointed, and very clean. The rate included a welcome gift, which was a plate of fruit and biscuits - amazingly this was replenished every day. There was also a turn-down service, which I wasn't expecting. The only minus point was that the advertised blackout curtains didn't properly cover the windows so I was woken early each morning by bright sunlight streaming in. The room was at the back of the hotel and was nice ad quiet. The breakfast room was light and airy and there was a good selection at the buffet as well as cooked to order dishes. There was a pleasant bar with outdoor tables and a restaurant (which looked quite expensive) but there were plenty of other options nearby, or even better in the Altstadt area which is packed with lively bars and restaurants and is about 15 mins walk from the hotel.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Business Trip"

15th February 2011, Sheffield

Staff really friendly and helpful. Room small but very well equipped and well decorated. Would have preferred to be a little closer to the river, but the hotel is really well located for viewing the city. Would definitely stay here again and would reommend it to friends and business associates.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure Dusseldorf"

9th February 2011, Toronto

Hotel is good, rooms are small but well appointed. Only downside is internet is on the expensive side, and not included. Lots of good restaurants close by and could not be more convenient to trains.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "OK in general"

18th January 2011, St.Petersburg

Blanket and pillow seems to be 100% PE, therefore it was too hot to sleep. The rest is OK - rooms, location etc.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Simple and excellent"

I had been there just 2 nights and everything was perfect. I think hotel can provide free of charge Internet access in rooms. Now Internet is chargable.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good value for you money"

27th December 2010, Espoo

The location of this hotel is very good, Just few hundred meters to Hauptbahnhof and also easy to walk to Altstadt - also U-bahn and S-bahn stations are close. Shopping possibilites also close. No big noice on streets during night. Restaurant also offers good food. Breakfast is good althouhg little expensive (as in all hotels in Dusseldorf). Very friendly and nice personel.

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "christmas market visit"

20th December 2010, WestYorkshireTornado, West Yorkshire

This hotel is an excellent location for the train station and a Kaufhof store. It is a fair hike (15-20min) to the city centre, but the route along Konigsallee is very pleasant. Trams however do pass the hotel. There are also local shops and restaurants in the vicinity - for german brauhaus atmosphere try the Brauerei Schumacher on Oststrasse (5minute walk). The hotel is on a corner and has a variety of room shapes and sizes, some better than others - try and arrive early so as to have choice of room.Staff very helpful and courtious. Breakfast is expensive bur excellent, try and get it in with room rate. Choice is first class with resident chef on hand for pancakes, waffles and omelettes etc:

Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf City Center: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Comfortable room, friendly staff"

5th December 2010, Sant-Petersburg

I stayed here twice. The first time everything was OKGood rooms, close to raiway station, obliging staff, comfortable big bed. But! The second time- broken shower and strange smell. May be because it was a discount price?
