« Perfectly fine budget hotel - excellent concierge »

We stayed here for three days whilst we visited Paris. It is very close to the Peripherique so doesn't involve driving within Paris, which was part of the attraction. One thing to note, though, is that the sat nav got a bit confused and, in our driving around the local streets we spotted another Ibis Budget - the Porte d'Italie Est and mistakenly tried to check in there. Both hotels could do with signs on the outside saying which they are to avoid this! It is basic, but perfectly fine. The receptionist the night we arrived was wonderful - I think his name was Anwar - and I saw him dealing simultaneously with queries in Italian and French, and then he spoke impeccable English with us. I believe he also speaks Japanese and German! He was really helpful. The rooms were clean but the drain in our shower smelt when it hadn't been used for a few hours. Also, the bunk beds (which we were using as there were 6 of us sharing two rooms) were not made by the cleaning staff, who did remake the double beds each day. The breakfast was as expected for Ibis Budget - plentiful - but the coffee at this hotel was rather weak for some reason. The situation was good and we were not troubled by noise as I see other travellers have been - but we used the air conditioning rather than open the window and this was absolutely fine. The hotel could do with a repaint - beginning to look a little shabby - but, for the price, we had no complaints. The position was good - half a mile to the metro and straight in to the centre. A small supermarket nearby and we had a lovely meal at a bistro on the corner of the main road (Italian - but I don't recall the name). Not the prettiest corner of Paris, but cheap and convenient.

« Good budget hotel »

We stayed 2 nights in a three-bed room and found it quite satisfactory. The rooms are very basic and small, but clean and a good value, considering what you would pay elsewhere in Paris, especially if you book last-minute, like we did. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Porte d'Italie metro station on line 7 and is still within zone 1, so it's pretty easy to get into the city. The staff were friendly, spoke good English, and were kind enough to order a taxi for us for our departure. The hotel is about a 20 minute drive to Orly, so it's great for early morning departures (like our flight at 6:50 am from Orly) or late-night arrivals.

« Good for on a budget »

I booked the hotel for myself, my 10month old daughter and a friend for a short break. Hotel was clean and good for price, but had a few issues. The air con was broken so the room was boiling hot and you can't open the windows. One of the three nights, the hot water didn't work all day. The only other minor issues were lack of space and pillows.

« Ok for 1 or 2 nights, but stay on rear of hotel »

Standard Ibis Budget, walking distance to tramway station at Porte d' Italie, close to shopping mall, restaurants, etc. Ok for a couple of nights, make sure you book a room on rear side of hotel as front is facing major road with heavy traffic at all time. Breakfast is poorer than in other Ibis Budget, especially those in Germany and Netherlands.

« Ok budget hotel in Paris »

As a budget hotel this hotel does it`s thing well. The room is basic, but has everything you need, with a comfortable bed and a usable shower Wifi worked well on my laptop, but it kept logging out on my smartphone. Friendly staff and the reception is always open. The negative is the location, on a busy road far away from the city centre, 10-15 minutes walk to metro station. It`s also noisy, with lots of noise from the hall coming through the door all through the night. At the back, there is not much noise from the outside. And it`s not that cheap, but then Paris is a very expensive, so for Paris it is not bad. So, over all a middle of the road hotel, but for Paris it is a good budget hotel.

« Service is cheap »

We stayed there three nights. The facilities are average but we did not expect the services to be that much cheap. We asked for an extra blanket but the management simply said “no, sorry, all the rooms are full and all the blankets are in use”. So we had to share the only one available which was not large enough for a couple. And once the cleaner kept us waiting till her supervisor comes, in order to decide whether our room should be cleaned or not. She looked at us like 'why the hell you don't speak French'. Having stayed at a few Ibis hotels above budget level before and had good memories of their service, we did not hope a budget hotel to have such a huge contrast. Decided not to stay at budget hotels again however affordable they can be.

« Sleep quality »

The general conditions of this hotel per price is okay, but there are some points to be improved as follows. - The window needs more soundproof - Liquid soap is recommendable instead of solid soap - Quality of breakfast

« dishonesty »

A/C broke 2 weeks prior to check-in. No notification on web-site or at check-in. When we returned to or room approx 9pm we were roasting. Found out from other guest guest that whe could go to recpt. and get handle to open our window - well then we had to listen to the traffic of the freeway all night we got very little sleep. what a choice. The next morning we found out the sys had been down for 2wks and accor told the hotel that it would be 6-8 weeks before parts were available to repair the a/c. If you cared about your customer your would have made sure everything was up-front and honest before check-in.

« Stay »

Easy access to transport friendly staff only problem was the air conditioning which wasnot working breakfast excellent. Parking cost was about right and out of site in the underground car park recommend a stay here

« A stay disagreeable »

It was a stay disagreeable. The internet was out and the air conditioning in the beroom was broken. It's summer with temperatures of 32 degrees in Paris. When I asked arrangements, the receptionist, unsympathetic, said he could not do anything. This is not a question of cheaper price than Íbis or Mercure. It's a lack of proper management and professionalism. I am a frequent guest of Accor and a Le Club Program member. I also stayed at the Ibis in Paris in June and July 2013, which was a great stay.

« Well placed hotel »

We stayed here last year on our way south, spending two nights so we could spend a day in Paris. As we had found this to be a good, value for money, well placed hotel for our purposes, we booked again this year albeit for one night. Our opinion has not changed, and the secure underground parking is always a plus. If we were to find a fault (both times), it would be the high temperature within the hotel, and particularly within the toilet which was like entering a sauna set at maximum heat. The ventilation is minimum - the air-conditioning never seems to reach it - and is best used with the light off as much as possible. Nonetheless, we would still recommend the hotel.

« Expressway motel »

We stayed in the newest IBIS Budget Dresden Downtown so ALL converted ETAPs pale in comparison. Management, Front Desk, Housekeeping are all positive experiences, no negatives. We would like A-Club Reward Points for Euros spent....why not? Auchan HyperMarche is 300m walking, Turkish cafes everywhere, enough bakeries to choose from --- one Metro line to OPERA for Roissy Bus, or Chattele for RER, to CDG. Take Metro to LE KREMLIN BICETRE, not Porte/Place D'italie.

« great value »

I have stayed at Etap (Ibis Budget) in UK so know what to expect: you get what you pay for, and with Ibis that is simplicity, cleanliness and consistent quality standards. Around 60 Euro per night for 3 people, it's a no-brainer! Even with parking @11 Euro per night it's still excellent value for Paris. Stayed 6 nights. 5 mins walk from Porte d'Italie metro station, so quick journey into city centre on line 7. Disappointed that window didn't open for fresh air but air on was ok. NB The road it's on wasn't in my satnav
