Mercure Rio de Janeiro Arpoador Hotel - hotel reviews in Rio de Janeiro

Mercure Rio de Janeiro Arpoador Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Close to the beaches, but noisy."

1st October 2012, FlyingDutchmanYVR, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

This all-suite hotel offers apartment-size suites with a bedroom, a fully equipped kitchenette and a big desk in the main room. The rooms are a bit tired, but are quite well appointed. The hotel is located close to the Copacabana Fort, halfway between Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, which can both be reached with short 5 minute strolls. The Ipanema/General Osorio metro station is a 10 minute walk. The bad news is that the street in front of the hotel is very busy and noisy. Since the hotel’s windows don’t close all that well, you’ll need your earplugs. The Copacabana side of the building is allegedly a bit quieter.

Mercure Rio de Janeiro Arpoador Hotel: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great place for a few days on the beach"

6th August 2012, HywelLondon, London

I had a couple of days before flying up to Sao Paulo and this hotel was perfect. Walking distance to the beaches. The appartments are very large, bright and clean. I would definatly stay here again. Oh and the wifi was the quickest I've found so far! Taxi from the airport was around R$120 (~£45)

Mercure Rio de Janeiro Arpoador Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure Apartments Rio De Janeiro Arpoador"

23rd April 2012, peter1a, Delray Beach, Florida, USA

Everything was great except, a little noisy from street noise, not too well insulated. Boook your own cab to airport, front desk did so @Rials 100.00, cancelled and booked for Rials 45.00 - BIG difference! Otherwise ALL GOOD! Had a great time!!

Mercure Rio de Janeiro Arpoador Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Good, but could be a lot better"

2nd August 2011, Dubai

A nice hotel in a nice area. But the furniture is dated and not very clean. Staff is excellent and made our stay very pleasent. Breakfast was limited but very good. Water in the room is not free, it should be.

Mercure Rio de Janeiro Arpoador Hotel: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great location and staff are incredibly helpful"

15th November 2010, Toronto

Stayed at Mercure Arpoador for 5 nights in Oct/10.Positive:-location: situated in between Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. Both only a 5 minute walk away. We ate mostly in Arpoador...which, after eating at a Copacabana restaurant, is less touristy and a lot cheaper. We felt perfectly safe walking around at night...even along the boardwalks of the beaches. They are very well lit.-service: They went above and beyond helping us with our portuguese, with booking tours, with restaurants and just generally making us feel welcome. Special shout out to Julianne and Daniel for making this happen. As well, we were able to leave one of our bags in storage while we took off for the Amazon for 4 days and could get cleaned up at the pool shower the days we were departing but had checked out. -rooms: clean and all have little kitchens. We found this helpful as we bought food at the local grocery store to have breakfast. We didn't cook anything...just used the fridge and cutlery.Negative:-can be a bit noisy with the street nearby...but this is only a big deal if you're an incredibly light sleeper.
