I would normally stop in IBIS hotels being on a budget, but this time we were on a very tight holiday budget. This is the first ETAP I have stayed at, it was a little tired as a building but it was convenient for my journey heading for Italy (avoiding tolls) and was value for money. It was very close to centre of Forbach and it's restaurants and fast food establishments. Mind you Forbach is very small. Car parking was free and underground at the hotel which was welcome. I would recommend if money is restricted as it is clean and friendly. Although limited choice, buffet breakfast was cheap so I cannot complain.

exactly what we needed; beetwen france and germany, with all those shops and cora hypermarket. to sleep and shopping in the morning. gas station at cora have good prices. at saarbrucken we found globus, shopping again.

This is one of the brand new Etap hotels -- extremely clean, everything is new. We were travelling without reservations and were lucky enough to arrive in Verdun in the early afternoon, as the hotel was filling up fast. It's in a good part of town, although it's a new area and away from the center. This wasn't a problem because it's very driveable. It has the simplicity of an Etap, but in excellent condition and with upgrades over the older Etaps, such as free internet centrally.The hotel was an excellent value for the price. The minimal breakfast was skippable to us, especially since there is an excellent bakery/cafe across the street. The is an Etap that is only manned at certain hours of the day, though can be booked at the lobby at a kiosk. This will only work for chip & pin cards, so we as Americans had to log on and book it online, then check in on the kiosk with the confirmed reservation number. This was quite easy.
