Easy to access hotel outside the city but with good public transport link to the centre (free if you park in the train station car park) on the day. Modern & bright, comfortable & clean rooms. Ideal for a one or two night stay but probably rooms not large enough for longer stays
"Fine hotel, but difficult to find!"
16th September 2013, mariposamorada, Southampton, United Kingdom
Took us over an hour driving around Brugge to find the hotel, address and co-ordinates did not help. Found a taxi driver to ask in the end, was so hidden! Service was good and rooms were comfortable (very compact!).
"Very dissappointed this time"
14th September 2013, Christine E
I arrived with my husband at 11 pm straight from the Dover/Calais ferry with a stop in Brugge for supper, being very tired as we had driven from Hull in Yorkshire to Dover in 5.5 hours and then from Calais to Brugge, another hour long journey. We had supper in town, hence the lateness of our arrival. When we arrived the night manager was at the vending machine with a guest feeding money into it, he then proceeded to change more money for her. Another person was on the phone with a query, but was obviously on her way home, as when she put the phone down, she told us the manager would see to us, although she did not leave immediately. When we were booked in we were told to go to room 2, this we did with every intention of going straight to bed. We left the room immediately as the room had not been cleaned from the previous guest, with an unmade bed, dirty towels on the shower floor and dirty wash basin/surface. When we returned to the reception area we had to wait for the manager to come from a back room although there were still a number of guests in the lobby area. He allocated us the next room (4) next door and changed our code on the receipt, but couldn't understand when I asked him for the rest of the paperwork he had given us originally. I eventually reached over the counter and pointed to the relevant papers, which he then gave to me. We got to our room about 11.20pm. My husband was exhausted and was asleep by 12 midnight. I personally was watching the tv when suddenly the wall I was laid against whilst in bed, shook to such an extent that I thought something had happened to the hotel, I woke my husband and told him, it happened again and he said they were preparing the room next door as it was probably needed, as we understood the hotel was fully booked. This banging, vacuuming, door slamming and general other cleaning noise went on for over an hour. I opened the door to check what was happening,to find the fire door to the lobby propped open, and the noise from there was filtering through to the rooms, also the door to room 2 was open and bedding had been thrown outside on the floor and noise was coming from inside the room. I think the bed was being moved as several times I was moved by the wall moving. I don't think it was fair to make so much noise over cleaning the room as there was, and it should have been done when the previous guest vacated it earlier. We won't be staying again.

Check in at Reception was very poor, I had to queue twice and this with a confirmed booking. Only one member of staff to deal with all the incoming guests. Otherwise staff were nice and helpful. The Hotel is ideally situated for the town centre and if you want to travel by train. Very large car-park facing the Hotel with reasonable charges.
"Value for money"

What more can you ask for when paying a reasonable price to stay near the town centre. It is next to the train station and car park. So, no matter how you get to the hotel, you have easy access. There is a Carrefour express next to the hotel and plenty of good quality restaurant within walking distance. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for value for money!!!

"Convenient, newly-built, unfussy"

Right next to the station (on the right up the escalators to the upper level of shops as you exit). Had a room on the front (away from the tracks) which was very quiet - not sure if the rooms on the railway side would be noisier. The present iteration of the "Budget" Ibis won't suit everyone - shower and washbasin aren't screened from the bedroom and the toilet door doesn't lock - but it's good value, clean and comfortable. About 5-10 minutes walk from the historic centre. Buffet breakfast is available, vending machines being the only option for food/drink at other times of the day. Plenty of snacking alternatives on the station including Panos and Starbucks depending on your budget. If you're looking for cheap food in an otherwise expensive tourist town, try the cafe in the HEMA department store.

"Barebones but good"

This hotel is excellent value for money due to the location and quality of room for the price. There are a couple of things to bear in mind; this chain in the Accor brand is generally 1 star. This means that the rooms come without things like cupboards and locks on the toilet door, basically, to keep maintenance costs to the bare minimum. The shower and sink are actually in the small room which, if you have a triple room, means things are quite snug. The hotel seems to have been recently refurbished so the rooms do look like 'new'. It's right next to the train station but we didnt hear any trains. The shower, with the glowing LED shower-head is both novel and refreshing. Enjoy! :)View management response »

The hotel is in a very good location and only a 15 minute walk through the park to the city. Parking is very good as you park on the top floor of the multi storey car park and there is a bridge straight to the hotel. You do have to pay for the car park but it is next to nothing. It is an Ibis budget hotel but having stayed at a few Ibis hotels in the past this one does stand out as being one of the best. Very clean and the staff are very helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel you would not be disappointed.View management response »

I booked the IBIS because I booked late and affordable options in the middle of Bruges were few. Location proved to be good with economical parking just outside. It was a ten minute walk to the main part of Bruges and a taxi cost €10. The hotel was very Spartan, rooms were very small, but very clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. Our kid slept in a bunk that extended over our double bed. It worked well for all of us. I did not stick around for breakfast so cannot comment on the coffee or croissants. It’s not an executive option, but I’d definitely stays again given the same circumstances.
"A total bargain, perfect location for a quick trip to Bruges"
6th August 2013, Lucy J, London, United Kingdom
These perfectly formed pod-style bedrooms are an ideal choice for a short stopover in this beautiful city; clean rooms, power-showers, situated a stones throw from the train station (with completely sound-proof windows so no train noise AND luggage storage so you can just pick up your bags as you head out of Bruges), 24hr reception and friendly staff - what more can you ask for? This is a cheaper option than most youth hostels in the area and it's definitely an upgrade from a shared bunk room. It's about a 15minute easy walk into central Bruges (the main square), just make sure that you walk back to your accommodation with some company (past midnight), as late at night the route is fairly dark and not that enticing alone (but as two girls together we felt perfectly safe).Enjoy the beer, the bell-tower, the boat tours and have a few more euros to spend by staying in this excellent hotel!
"Good, worse the worst"

Used to some level of service, I was quite unpleasantly surprised with this hotel. Even though you do not expect a high level of comfort from this kind of hotel, I expected the same range throughout all Ibis budget hotels. But..., offer and demand function in this case as everywhere else. Brugge is a tourist mecca and a lot of people seek accommodation in summer.I never fulfilled any form for the police in Belgium. Stayed in 2 other hotels in Belgium, among them one is accor., but in Brugge I did. The city maps usually free, were here offered for purchase. The room itself was positioned badly, some 50 meters from the closest train platform. This is probably my fault, as I reserved late. The 3rd bed has not been done at the time of our arrival. And the room was SOOOOO small. About 3 m2 smaller than in any Ibis budget I stayed. The curtains had holes from the moths, and they function worse than usual shadows in Ibis budgets.I know that hotel manager will reply, but maybe he (she) should read my review on Antwerpen Ibis budgetView management response »
Management responseDear guest, thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience in our hotel.I am sorry that your experience did not meeet your expectations, please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At check-in, one person/room needs to fill in a document, this is requested by the police in Bruges. The upper-bed is indeed not made up since this is a guideline from Ibisbuget Belgium but everything is provided. We have indeed citymaps at 0,50€. We hope to welcome you again in one of our Ibisbudget hotels in the future.Kind regards, Cindy Cornelis
"Value for money"

In a good location and service was very friendly and efficient. There is an added bonus in that the car park ticket enables you to travel on the bus for free, in Bruges this is an added bonus. The room was clean as was the hotel.
"First time staying at IBIS budget"
13th July 2013
First time stayed at IBIS budget hotel and it was kind of what expected - small, basic. Location is good - next to the train station. About 12-15 mins walk to the centre. The room was clean. Towels were really rough, handle on the shower door is too big hole and caused water coming out and made the floor very wet.
8th July 2013, 935traveller, Sheffield, United Kingdom
Stayed here for one night whilst visiting Brugge. Very clean and comfortable room, which we were allowed to use before the 12 noon sign in. We were also able to leave out bags for the day when we signed out. Very friendly and helpful staff and good breakfast. Will stay here again and recommend for short breaks.
"One of the best"
2nd July 2013, Brian S, Gosport, United Kingdom
The only slight problem with this hotel is that it's difficult to find but thanks to advice in an earlier review, we knew to go to the top floor of the station car park and from there it's a doddle - even a lift to take you up to the hotel entrance level.Parking was 2.70 Euros and as safe, if not safer, than parking on any street, as the upper floor is a big open space. This is one of the modern Ibis Budget hotels and for the price can't be faulted. Even though it backs on to the train station, you would hardly notice - the double glazing keeps all the noise out.Reception was very helpful and friendly and for half a euro you can buy a local town centre map - it's a must! Using the map it's a short, easy walk into the centre of Brugge, 10-15 minutes strolling along the cobbled streets. There must be other reasonably priced hotels in Brugge but booking this Ibis budget makes planning your trip so much easier. Most of the time you know what you are going to get with Ibis budget and although they can vary from place to place, Brugge Centrum is one of the best.
"short stay brugge"

Very handy location as a base to visit areas in Belgium, very clean and tidy ,staff pleasant andhelpful. Located at train station we were surprised how quiet it was ,sleep not disturbed. For the purpose of our short visit it was perfect ,only down points are room small and breakfast was lacking variety.
"Very convenient to train staton"
1st July 2013, faithmike8, Quakertown, Pennsylvania, USA
Located just around the corner and up an escalator from the train station was great for us since that's how we were traveling to and from Brugge. Getting into the hub of the town was about a ten minute walk. No complaints, hotel room was kid of cutely 'euro'.
