"Ideal"
12th May 2012, Horsham
Formula 1 at the airport was ideal for our short stay. It's not a flash hotel, but for the short stay we were having and the need to catch an early morning flight, it was fine. The beds are comfy and the shower was fine. A no frills hotel on the doorstep of the airport.
"Space Ship accommodation"

As a bed at the airport, before leaving Melbourne I suppose it enabled us to save travelling time while in a huge city. The idea of climbing up to get in to the shower or go to the toilet was terrible and I believe a very bad building design especially for elderly patrons. There was very little room to get to the wash basin moving past the bed. There were no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, no fridge. (terrible). Vending machines to cater for hungry patrons in the foyer, was just not on. We had to go to another facility to get a both the evening meal and breakfast. The concept of this hotel was a good one but just a bit more is needed. Would we stay here again? No. If this is all you can do then we would prefer to pay the extra and stay at one of the other two hotels at the Airport.

Management responseThank you for your comments posted 11 May 2012 regarding your previous stay with us .Your comments have been noted but we wish to point out that the Formule 1's are a budget chain and are all designed the same way . None of them have fridges or kettles in the room .A continental breakfast is in fact, provided daily from 7am .Many thanks again for your feedback .

"My Stay"
5th May 2012, no1penguin, Auckland, New Zealand
was as I thought a dear Budget Hotel for the price paid the only redeeming feature is next to the Airport 5min walkthere is a lack of coffee and kettle in the rooms you have to buy machine generated coffee. The internet is expensive in this day and age you would think they would have free WiFithe two computers they have don't work very well. If you are flying early from Melbourne and want a bed this is the place if you want comfort well stay else where
"Formule 1Tullamarine"
30th April 2012
Clean hotel with basic facilities. Convenient location if one needs to be near Tullamarine airport and just need somewhere to sleep. If you're after all mod comfs, then this hotel is not for you!
"terrible, waste of money"
14th April 2012, JasonMaxfield, Melbourne, Australia
I was very disappointed with my stay at the F1, sure the location was great but the hotel was dirty the staff where rude. in terms of value for money it was terrible. the room we stayed in was dirty and i even had to make one of the beds. when i approached the staff about the un made bed he told me that the sheets where up in the room and i had to make the bed myself. i am sorry but for $109 i shouldn't have been treated like that.... NEVER STAY HERE!!!!

great stay as always, this motel does just what it is supposed to do - friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, generally quiet from traffic noise but corridor noise from air travellers arriving or departing at strange hours can be expected, no more than on an aircraft. Then again, we always carry earplugs whenever we stay at any motel or hotel.Have been using this motel for years and the quality is always there
"Great location, close to airport and clean rooms"
27th March 2012, Melbourne, Australia
If you need a place to stay for a quick stop to make flight connections, this hotel is close and relatively inexpensive for an airport hotel. In Canada, airport hotels often supply ear plugs to dampen sounds of airplanes and the hallway traffic of other travelers coming and going at all hours of the day and night. I would recommend that Formule 1 provide ear plugs for guests or you should bring your own. Hallway noises are loud. Also, it would be great if th continental breakfast was included in price - this is the norm in Canada as well.

A very handy motel to the airport but difficult to locate the actual place. Basic amenities but a good night's sleep. Would appreciate a kettle and coffee at the least.

Good simple accomodation ideal for a stay when you are out all day and dont require bar and restaurant on site

Excellent location when arriving on a late flight from overseas, only drawback is the lack of lighting between airport and Formule 1.
"Good location for stopover...that'sit"
20th March 2012, Adelaide
Stayed here on a stopover. The big issue for me was the room stank - it smelled like cats had been in there, found it hard to sleep as a result. There was no other room available, and I didn't arrive til 11pm and was leaving at 6am. Rooms are basic and was clean as you would expect, but for $110 for the night it should smell better.
"Thank you"
18th March 2012, Brisbane, Australia
The hotel was clean and presentable. It suited my needs because I needed to be near the Airport for a early flight.Thank you
"Disappointed"

"A very good budget rooms"
3rd March 2012, Adelaide, Australia
I stayed for one night in Formule 1 Melbourne Airport. The place is really near the airport but it can be a bit hard to walk to it if you have heavy luggages. As a tip you can take a luggage troll till the hotel. The room was tidy and nice. The only problem I had is just 1 hour before leaving and I switched off the room light and it does not turn on again and keeps flashing. It was 6 O'clock in the morning and there were no one at the reception so I just opened the bathroom door and switched on the bathroom light to pack my things.
"Recommended to those who need stay overnight for transit"
1st March 2012, Singapore, Singapore
The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the Melbourne Tullamarine airport, there is a 24h Mcdonald's nearby. The room is clean and the facilities are OK. Good for those who just want to stay for one night and catch flights on the next day.
"First Time in Formule 1"
23rd February 2012, Adelaide, Australia
The Formule 1 at the Airport was very convenient and well located. We stayed at the Formule1 in Elizabeth St, Melbourne and we got it for $69-00 per night and was value for money and location. The Airport was $109-00 per night so much cheaper in Melbourne CBD.
"Fit for purpose"
10th February 2012, Ararat, Australia
This clearly was not a luxury stay but it wasn't expected to be. The room was clean, quiet, cheap and close to the airport which was exactly what was needed. It was also within walking distance to a fast food outlet which was very helpful.
"Comfortable"
7th February 2012, Melbourne, Australia
Room was small but had what we needed for our one night stop over before catching our flight. Was pleased that there was an air con/heating available in the rooms although the shower could have been more sizable.
"Average"
31st January 2012, Sydney
Paid a decent amount for this motel, and wasn't too impressed for the amount paid, it felt like a cheap youth hostel, but overall it was still a decent place to stay, but I wouldn't pay that much for that sort of quality.
"Need a fridge in room to keep drinks cool"
31st January 2012, Hamilton, New Zealand
Would be nice to have a fridge in room.the beds were comfortable although air con was little bit noisy overall was a nice room to stay in. Was walking distance to airport and close to food outlet saved on taxis fare. Plan to stay there many times over as I'm a frequent flyer
"Convenience Hotel"
19th January 2012, Pretoria, South Africa
Have used this Hotel at Melbourne Airport 3-4 times recently. Very convenient location at Airport! Simply put, a room for the night, great location at a realistic price. Good value for money compared to it's location competitors.
