"Price is right but rooms are soulless"
20th September 2013, Stockton-on-Tees, England
Hotel is handy for Gare De L'Est but quite a walk from Gare Du Nord. Rooms generally lacked character and bunk bed was difficult to access for making the bed. Can't complain about the cleanliness though.
"Reasonable budget stay"

Hotel location is convenient enough for this kind of budget in Paris. Do expect 10 to 15 minutes walk to nearest subway stations. It's located in between two stations (Jaurès and Laumière), which link to subway line M2 and M5 - easy access to train station, city center and tourist spots. The neighborhood seems a bit dodgy with a mixture of various races living in that area. However, I never encounter any danger walking around at night. Many eateries although mostly Italian, Turkish, and Asian food. Expenditure is lower compare to city center, where you are expected to spend at least extra 10 Euros on a meal for two people. The exterior of the hotel building looks modern but interior is quite old especially the lifts that take forever to arrive. However, I do note that the hotel is undergoing a renovation hopefully will improve everything in near future. The room is very basic then again no complaint for this kind of budget. What I dislike most is the noise from the street, which never stop whole night and day. Luckily the weather was cooling enough so we shut the window during the night in order to reduce the noise. I would suggest to get a room facing the rear. The staff are somewhat friendly but few of them speak very limited English.
"A good choice of a hotel in the area"
15th September 2013, Vonnydee, Plymouth, UK
We were delighted with the reception staff who were very helpful with any enquiries or requests that we made. The room was small but adequate for our needs as we only used it for sleeping and showering. The room was clean, the shower cubicle and toilet were compact but adequate and were very clean. We had a room facing the back of the hotel and it was quiet, the window opened into the room and we had it open overnight as it was quite warm. For the price it was a good choice and the metro is very close by so enabled us to move into the centre very easily. We used the underground car parking facility and it was great to just drive in and leave the car in the knowledge that it was secure. All in all we would recommend the hotel for budget travellers who want to have value for money and spend more on enjoying Paris and what it has to offer
"Young adults in Paris"

The best thing about the hotel was its central location. The room was basic but clean and the shower was excellent with plentiful hot water at ant time of the day.The area our hotel was in was a busy neighbourhood with a good number of bars and resturants selling foods from around the world. Many of the eateries were very reasonably placed. We were near to an internet cafe which was open very late. We also located a shisha lounge. Also right next to the hotel was a Supermarket Launderette Boulangerie Bikes which could be borrowed for short periods of time A metro station A park
"Night in Paris"

Needed accommodation in Paris for a night. This was great value close to Gare de Nord, easy reach of Metro stations. Cheap and cheerful - air-con would have made it fantastic! If 3 people you need to be friends as space is limited.
"Cheap for Paris"
26th July 2013, palmettoguy, Durham, North Carolina, USA
I have stayed with Ibis Budget several times before, all in cities outside of Paris. This room was slightly smaller than ones I had stayed at before and the bathroom was different than the ones I had previously stayed at as well. The only problem we had was that the light in the shower unit was broken, which meant we had to shower with the door open. They were starting renovations the day we left, so I imagine that it will be up to par and wonderful when they are done. The location was a little distant from the core tourist attractions, but very convenient to the metro and easy to get to all parts of Paris.

the room is small but is enough for 2-3. we went Paris on summer, and this summer is really hot, but the worst things is my room fresh air-cond is not work, although we already open the window, but its still very hot! no one come to service and arrange another room for us =( by the way, i not understand why the door for bath room and toilet cannot be lock!
"clean and good location"
20th July 2013, KittyHo, Taichung, Taiwan
location and cleanliness are my first concern to the hotel. ibis meets the standard. the location is in zone one which can save you quite a lot on the transportation both on money and time. thx for other travelers' suggestions, I choose the even number room which faces the back in stead of the street and it is really comfortable and quite. however, the wifi speed is slow if you try to upload the photos. franprix is next to the hotel and you can have your easy food choice there. Hotel also has vending machine selling metro ticket and map. extremely friendly location and service to the travelers.
"Budget price with average facilitices."
15th July 2013
The location of hotel is pretty nice, there is a supermarket just beside it and also quite close to transportation. For me the main problem is the service. We asked for extra pillow--No; hair dryer--No. Besides, the carpet of the room is a bit dirty and the exhaust fan of bath doesn't work. But consider the price, I will say it's a fair price and will be good for those who concern more about the budget than luxury.
"Ibis Budget Paris La Villette"
2nd July 2013, Rambla_13, Barcelona, Spain
Not to be confused with the Ibis La Villette, this is a budget hotel and by Paris standards the price is excellent for a room with ensuite. The arrangements for breakfast were a little hard to follow although the typical Ibis breakfast was available. The location is excellent in terms of proximity of the Metro and local attractions.

I arrived here and immediately knew this was a mistake. This location can best be described as a hostel. Unfortunately, I had pre-paid for my stay over the internet and could not get a refund (even though the front desk told me twice that I could receive one). I let the gentleman at the front desk know that I did not want to stay there and he was very kind in booking me at a neighboring Ibis (not budget). The shower was filthy and had the hair of the last resident on the walls, the rug appeared to have dog excrement scraped from someone's shoe in the corner, the bunk-bed (yes, bunk-bed) appeared to never have been wiped down and the list goes on and on. I ended up having to pay for two hotels during my stay - but it was definitely worth it to go to the other location. Do yourself a favor and just pay a few extra euros and spare yourself.
15th January 2013, Stuttgart, Germany
Excellent location within the ring road and close to the metro station; however, our room was a front room. You have heard of the expression "Paris - the city that never sleeps." Well, it's true if you stay in a front room: the traffic goes on all night, and the windows have poor phonic insulation. Ask for a room on the back side.
"Great value for money, good hotel"
30th November 2012, WeLovePenguins, Swansea, United Kingdom
For Paris within the ring road this hotel was excellent value for money. It may seem a little expensive compared to Ibis Budget hotels elsewhere, but when compared to prices for hotels in Paris it's really cheap. The staff were very pleasant and courteous, always welcoming us and saying hello. Excellent command of English and happy to speak English with us.Hotel rooms are basic, but they say that themselves. Very comfortable beds and sufficient space in the room, very clean only issue was a large black mark on the ceiling.A little far out from the central tourist areas, but this isn't a problem in Paris, as the metro station is only a couple of hundred metres from the hotel. Laumiere station on line 5 connects well to most other metro lines in Paris. The hotel sells 'carnet' (books of 10 metro, bus and tram single tickets) from a vending machine at the same price as at the metro stations, currently 12.70 euros and the metro runs until 12:30am. This makes the location ideal given the price, as long as you don't intend to be out past half midnight. We would strongly recommend this hotel to any traveller on a budget, especially English speakers whose French is rusty.
