"NOVOTEL HAMBURG LÜBECKER STRAßE"

A good standard business hotel. Fairly convenient location right next to the U-Bahn, only 2 stops and 5 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof (central station). Close to the restaurants and bars of Lange Reihe (such as the 'Turnhalle', which is a cool bar and bistro in a converted gymnasium), and only 100m from a large swimming pool with water slides etc (a good place to go if you have the kids in tow). The hotel bar area is nicely done, with contemporary furnishings, soft lighting, and a large screen TV on which to watch the football. Their excellent range of beers includes Köstritzer Schwarzbier (black beer) from eastern Germany. The bar and check-in staff are helpful and courteous, and speak many languages. Rooms are a bit 'identikit' and 'corporate', but well-equipped and comfortable nonetheless. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide choice of hot and cold food, as well as fresh fruit - but is a bit on the pricey side, so is something that families staying with children should be aware of. I can recommend this Novotel to anyone travelling to Hamburg on business, or maybe for a leisure weekend when some special deals can be had.

Not up to usual Novotel standards. One good and professional front desk person, rest either offhand or even close to rude. OK, hotel was full but even so staff should be able to deal with standard problems.

The hotel is very kidds friendly. The restaurant had a special offering for families, at a reasonable price.The hotel also offers parking payable, but inside and with access to the hotel.The access to the hotel is a little tricky due to forbidden left turns.

Good place to stay couple of days, nice staff and good kids play area. hotel parking is ok but also streets around the hotel are quite ok for car park. close to the city, connected with airport but you need to change trains.

This is rated a 4*. It is not in the city centre, though it's just two stops on U1 or U3 from the main railway station. There is a portal into the U1 metro line just 10m from the hotel's front door. So not central, but not too far out to put you off.Nice, large, modern lobby, with childrens play area, PC access, weather on TV screens. The room was fine, with separate WC (no washbasin) and bathroom, with standalone shower and shower in bath. Good storage space.Good service at the desk with tourism and travel queries.We paid 238 room only for 4 nights, 59.50 per night, good value.

Prima hotel, unfortunately there was no non-smoking room available. There was no possibility to indicate this when booking.Then if you arrive you have no choice.

Found the temperature control in the room very poor. No cooling only "free air" or heating.This ment room was too warm. Needed to open window and this created noise problems at night. Found it strange and unhygienic that no hand washing facilities in toilet. A mirror in a more strategic place , ie by the toilet door, on the oposite wall, or on the end of the clothing storage area would be an asset..

novotel as you find them in many places, nice, clean, efficient, international and a really good restaurant with convenient opening hours. If you are looking for a typical german hotel you need to go somewhere else but if you like the standard of a business hotel close to the U bahn it is a really good choice

We stayed for one night and primarily wanted to make a harbour cruise, visit the Speicherstadt and Downtown. Conveniently parking, the U1/U3 subways (Leipziger Strasse) right in front of the hotel. Room was clean and modern, well equipped with a water heater and a small mini bar.Would recommend this hotel, also to families with up to 2 kids (queen-sized sofa acts as a bed).

Good hotel, a bit far from city centre but with an underground station right in front of hotel entrance going to main tourist atractions isn´t a hassle.At night, no bars and restaurants nearby are open...Modern lookin hotel, rooms are spacious and with a modern decor. Good bar with friendly staff.Internet wifi is expensive as usual. Be aware if you have a E-Plus mobile and plans to use 3G internet as coverage is very spotty in lobby and in my room.
