"Good choice"

I was wondered by this hotel level.It is much more than a “regular” 3 stars hotel.It’s located in the Munich old City center but the plaice is not noisyIn addition to the perfect location it provides with the excellent food, gift beverage in the room and the really helpful staff.This is a perfect choice for people are looking for a valuable hotel in a city center

Mercure hotel in Munich altstadt is very nicely located in close Marienplatz and walking street. Rooms are clean and spacious and bed is comfortable. Breakfast is excellent including nice fresh orange juice pressing machine. Only downside is that rooms are a bit pricey.

stayed during very cold days in Munich. room 202 has outer wall so it was cold from inside room and not quite comfy. they were able to change me the room immediately. breakfast is great! very tasty and great selection including fresh squeezed orange juice

"Oktoberfest"

The Hotel was great. The staff was friendly and spoke english. Roos were clean ans quiet. Food was great and breakfast being included was a nice touch. The only complaint I have is there is no parking. There is a parking garage just down the street but it is closed on sundays. So if you want to park your car in a safe location on the weekend. You need to park over a mile away. Other than that it was a great place.

We stayed in 701 which was a 1 bedroom suite with kitchen and eating area during Oktoberfest. It was a good value in comparison to other hotels considering the size of the rooms and the hotel location. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean and well furnished. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety of items. Only issue was that the internet was not working on the computer in the lobby.

The hotel has a great location in down town. At the same time this location makes a limit in car parking (the nearest one is expensive).Some noise from building construction opposite to the hotel.Nice view from room window on the 4th level - old roofs.

"good location, but too noisy"

Unfortunately, construction works are in progress opposite the hotel, as a result of which the rooms are extremely noisy from 7.00am, the windows are dirty and cannot be kept open due to the noise. The hotel charges for wifi access a daily rate, however, I experienced on several occasions during my stay that the system cancelled my internet sessions, which was very annoying. But the hotel is very conveniently located for anyone wishing to visit the Opernfestspiele, as I did.

the hotel location is excellent in the middle of marine platz, there is a construction site facing the hotel, they start working at 7 am daily leave yu no time to sleep even saturdays they work in the morning , yu cannot get any rest. The hotel mangement stops elevators on sunday morning even that guests are moving their luggage, front desk wants to kick yu out at 1200 noon sharp regardless yr excuses, i donot recommend this hotel to anyone and shall not stay there again before the construction stops and the mangement changes its attitude

Management responseDear guest,first of all please accept our apologies that you were not happy with your stay with us. Regarding your complaints we would like to inform you as follows:- unfortunately for our guests but as an advantage for the city the whole old city center of Munich is being renovated at the moment. there are plenty of construction sites around Marienplatz. Our hotel is equipped with sound proof windows and fully air conditioned. If the windows are closed the noise stays outside.- We most defenitely do not stop the elevator on sundays! that must have been a misunderstanding!- Our check out time is 12 noon. If our guests ask at check in if a later check out is possible, we do our best. But as check in starts at 3p.m. we need these hours to clean up all the rooms. "Great Location, Fabulous Breakfast, Fantastic Room"

This hotel was in the heart of everything for us, just a few minutes walk to the Marienplatz. We prepaid for this hotel on the internet and got a very good rate and the breakfast was outstanding - something for everyone and very high standard.The room was fairly roomy and it was very comfortable, very quiet, and very clean. We could not have been happier. Also, the room came with a mini bar with a few beverages in it and 3 free beverages per day were available. There were only the choices in the mini bar but it was the first time I ever saw that for this nice of hotel. We would stay there again without a doubt.

The hotel is located in the center of Munich between Stachus and Marienplatz. You'll find some of the best places in walking distance. Unfortunately most rooms are very small and the ones towards Kaufinger Strasse are very noisy.

A really convenient and nice hotel in the center of Munich with an excellent quality to cost ratio. It is located at the very center of Munich (behind Marienplatz) ina a quite new building. Although the entrance is not that nice loooking, once you are inside you find a clean functional hotel with very reasonable facilties for a reasonable price. The breakfast is quite OK too.

The prospect of a reasonably priced Hotel in the middle of the Altstadt and a 5 minute walk to Marienplatz was irresistible. The reality was disappointing as the Hotel is in the midst of a massive construction zone. Although the amenities were lacking (even WiFi was broken!), they had the most important issues covered. I find I can tolerate almost any hotel as long as the shower is strong, the air conditioner works well and the room is clean. This Mercure had those, but little else.

"Charming Hotel"

Pleasant staff, the Breakfast Room is charming, and an excellent choice every morning. The orange juice is freshly squeezed at the buffet, a really great touch !Bedroom, [we had a junior suite] very clean,comfortable, and warm. It was nice to see that both windows would open should the weather/season require it.On the downside. the Bar area is poor, it certainly didn't encourage anyone to have a drink before or after Dinner.
